I remember when this was the plan. Magic Mountain was one of my home parks as a child and my mom worked there in its first operating years before it was part of the Six Flags chain. I was really worried because the park is so great and had so many memories for me. I'm really glad they kept it. One of the frustrating things about publicly traded companies is that quarterly profit goals become so important that people are willing to destroy a legacy that was meant to stand because of short term bad managerial decisions.
Adding a Superman clone behind Judge Roy Scream would have eliminated the need for the hotels next door to have alarm clocks. That ride would be one heck of a wake-up call.
But as we learned with Astroworld, only two of the coasters would get to their next park without damage. Let’s thank Six Flags for not letting this happen.

If I hadnt heard that rumor about the superman clone at SFOT I would have said they would get Tatsu or Scream. But apparently they were looking at the reverse freefall for the park so it would have been a natural landing spot for Superman
Great Escape i believe was in line for Astro Worlds SLC but the 07-08 recession it ended up at LaRonde. Six Flag doesn't hate great escape. they have tried at the park. from what I have read in articles regarding there new for 2020-2021 ride is they have a lot of push back from neighbors constantly complaining about height and noise particularly from a development area located behind the park which was built around 04. Lake George is one of the top vacation locations in the north east and i think six flags wanted to try and cash in on this.
Chris, I got my 500th credit last week with TMNT Shellraiser at The American Dream Mall. I couldn't wait anymore for any of the new coasters in Florida to open. I work for Ford and we aren't getting our normal 2 week plant shutdown this year to plan a big vacation. I had dreams of Iron Gwazi or VelociCoaster being that milestone, but the world's steepest drop is still a great #500! My #400 was one of your favorites...X2 at Magic Mountain (Jan 2020).
Well based on what I witnessed when Six Flags chose to tear down Astroworld none of the coaster would have been moved or ever run again due to them getting torn up when getting disassembled.
I am really thankful for this video because for the entirety of the last video I was trying to figure out where tatsu (my #1) would go. tatsu is made to be on a mountain and so I empathize with your struggle to put such a majestic ride anywhere else
Well, if Magic Mountain did got shut down by Six Flags in 2006, it would’ve been sad since people like Magic Mountain. However, I would predict if Six Flags should shut down Magic Mountain in 2071, the park’s 100th Anniversary instead of 2006.

There are a lot of things that Disney has done (or I guess haven't done) that would have had a huge impact on my life and caused it to be drastically different, if they had happened. But now, looking back on it, it turns out that Six Flags almost had a weird impact on my life. Already my life has gone in a different direction now that I was hired there, but now I have to imagine a world in which Magic Mountain closes when I'm six-years-old. Does the Valencia area mean anything to me at that point? No, probably not. So weird to think about.

While SFA does have a lot of unused land, some of the wooded area must be maintained as a buffer for noise because of nearby homes. Also there is a stream that runs back behind the far helix of S:ROS which would cause environmental concerns for any attraction in that area, not to mention the noise buffer zone.

Tatsu getting relocated to Six Flags New England would’ve been awesome. Imagine a B&M flying coaster that wraps around and interacts with Wicked Cyclone or Superman The Ride.
I breathed a big sigh of relief when Magic Mountain was taken off the market. There was a major outrage amoung the locals when it when on the market for sale. Many rallied to have the park along with its iconic coasters like Revolution and Colossus be declared a landmark to prevent the sale. Luckily the park was bringing in money as sales began to rise after the sale was announced publicly.
I want Scream to come to St Louis, regardless of if Magic Mountain closed or not. It is neglected there and overshadowed by the bigger and better coasters, but I know the GP of St. Louis would eat this up if it moved here.
I always used to think that a free fall launch coaster or even a intamin strata coaster would fit really well on the land that Judge Roy Scream sits if Six Flags Over Texas were to ever remove it. Or they could even have more fun and build it on the lake next to it. But they don’t care enough about Over Texas to try anything new here :(
I hope SFFT never gets rid of Pandemonium. It's a super fun intermediate coaster with no inverts. Instead, take out the Picnic Grove area to fit Goliath.
Superman would be pretty cool at SFNE. Not sure if they would've been able to get permits for that height back then, but it could've been great if placed parallel to the waterpark, stationed in the old Thomas Town. Also, Tatsu could've been awesome in the picnic grove, especially if it crested over the trees.
I would have loved to have seen what Elitch Gardens would have been had Six Flags kept it. That would have been a great spot for a coaster like Scream, and doubt Elitch Gardens’ future would be in this much peril had Six Flags held on to it and gave it something good. As far as Riddler’s Revenge and Great Adventure, Chang was originally slated for Great America as a floorless conversion but got shifted to NJ instead. Sending either RR or Scream to Great America would have made a ton of sense. And I would give Revolution to Great Escape. That would work great there.
I don't know if Tatsu will fit at Kentucky Kingdom, But if they made an underground tunnel for a bottom of the pretzel loop, And themed it to Batman or Superman, It would fit just fine.

I agree with everything but Tatsu. If you really were in a real alternative universe where magic mountain was sold Tatsu would have to be scraped. As expensive as it is it can't just be placed on another plot of land this isn't roller coaster tycoon. With the losses already suffered if they had indeed sold they would have just had to eat it and scrap the thing.

There is plenty of space for Scream with theming at Over Texas just tear down Judge Roy Scream or the Music Mill Amphitheater.

Astroworld's coasters were all old and relocated themselves. Only the semi new steel coasters got relocated, like the SLC

San Antonio has a 200 foot height limit for Air Force activity, so a hyper is off the table. That’s why they built Steel Eel at 150.

Great Adventure was going to get a 4D X clone in 2003, but maintenance issues at Magic Mountain convinced Six Flags for a flying coaster.
Riddler's Revenge at Great Adventure would have been epic and would've fit the Green Lantern theme

I agree with everything but Tatsu. If you really were in a real alternative universe where magic mountain was sold Tatsu would have to be scraped. As expensive as it is it can't just be placed on another plot of land this isn't roller coaster tycoon. With the losses already suffered if they had indeed sold they would have just had to eat it and scrap the thing.

Tatsu gets sold off to Cedar Point or Kings Island. Fiesta Texas is the only Six Flags Park that makes sense. X2 at Great America would be great!
May I ask you something Airtime Thrills please 🙏, Six Flags Magic Mountains gets the axe 🪓 in the alternative 2006 universe? No that didn’t happened Magic Mountain was saved from being sold off so there’s no way for the theme park getting removed and I don’t want it get flattened and turned into tract housing after 2006, also I picked none of the roller coasters 🎢 being removed and relocated into other Six Flags theme parks I like 👍 and want all the coasters in Magic Mountain to stay where they are since the theme park’s not being for sale, is that ok 👍 with you Airtime Thrills?
