Im from Jamaica living in Jamaica, and I've been watching for years even though im only 18. You're so right. I dont want to be average. The average Jamaican girl is working a low paying job with one or multiple kids and is taking care of men who want to be rappers or scammers. I believe im luck. I believe im blessed even though people around me are saying i MUST be realistic. I might not be the richest, and to some, im not even middle class, but i believe im privileged and lucky. Im not a victim. I have so much to be grateful for, and im happy to be alive. I know I'll live a life that im proud of and that i consider successful. LOVE YA SM KELLY!!!

This is exactly how I feel! I hate when people say to be realistic. Like obviously, I can’t become an Olympic gymnast tomorrow with arthritis and less flexibility like I used to have. But it’s not unrealistic to wish for a peaceful, quiet life with your dream family!! Everyone who tells you otherwise is just too defeated to do it themselves so they must drag you down. You’re a threat. It’s so easy to create your own reality if you’re already an attractive, young educated woman…It just might mean distancing yourself from those negative influences. These are the most important years. Getting pregnant by the wrong man can ruin your entire life. I don’t know why people act like it’s a joke. Better learn how to do some non sexual heavy petting if you can’t stay celibate. 😂

I can tell yourself, you can be and live the life you want if you plan your life being realistic but also optimistic. Being honest not only to others, but to yourself. Life is much more than we think and we are not here to make our own life more complicated. Be kind, be grateful, be honest, be you and hopefully with courage and clearly mind you will achieve everything you want. 😉

Acquiring knowledge is never a mistake, but college doesn't have a monopoly on it! For most, college just confirms their skills and intelligence, and does not add to it much. Dont tie your self esteem to it at all, and don't let yourself believe its the only path to what you want! You can want a marriage and femininity AND still achieve other things too. (Also, 21st century American universities are kind of just part of a cultish sub culture)
Like Ayn Rand said, everyone is better off when you do what YOU truly want to do.
Otherwise, the overcorrection will never end!

It was the “Focus on yourself and pray for everyone” for me. That’s been the hardest thing for me to do In life when you have no choice but to just watch all the bad choices your loved ones made/make. I’ve always been an empath and I’m really starting to resent that about myself. Living in the same environment together makes it even harder. It’s difficult to try to create a life in which you can be happy living with all these things going on around you right in front of you and there’s nothing you can do. Taking your advice, I’m determined to continue trying to make life easier and enjoyable for myself and pray for the others who are staying stagnant. I can’t help them if I don’t have an overflow to give. That’s really the mentality you need these days.

This is my third comment under anything on youtube or any social media, but I just had to because you're telling THE truth! I'm a Polish girl with 2 BA's, MA and in the first year of my PhD program. None of these achievements gave me the sense of fulfillment or being good enough. In fact, it's the opposite. I've realized recently that I'm happiest not writing another article or sweating over my dissertation or preparing a conference speech (my current pain), but being in the kitchen, in the garden, in the fresh air, and being rested! I've invested too much time and effort in my "career", but as soon as I get that degree I intend to find a light teaching job, let go of large-scale research and live my feminine energy life too! I've never identified with the various Western cultural nonsense that has unfortunately found fertile ground in my country as well, but I myself have fallen into the mindset of your career equals your worth, which equals your chance of creating a family with someone of values and normal! Wishing you all the best:)! Miami looks good on you:) Maybe someday I'll be able to see the American coast myself, for now I'm left with the Baltic Sea (it may be colder but it's beautiful too!) ;)

The hard part about being average is that no one wants to be average, working their whole lives. Being middle/upper class allows you opportunities to improve your life or give yourself a life of excitement. I don’t want to be average but it seems like the only way to break out of this working 9-5 cycle (or looking for a job in the meantime) is to start a side hustle on TH-cam or do anything online. It seems like many people are doing this now. I watch people who opens brand new tech products, go travel to cool places, live in beautiful homes by themselves, I want to be like them one day so it’s like I live through these videos.

I moved from Los Angeles to Austin, TX a year ago and I could go on and on about the differences in my lifestyle between the two places, but one big thing has been connecting with more women who want marriage and a family or at least admit they want that. They are very much man-haters, and they just talk about how disgusted they are by children and married women or girls in relationships. So now that I have clearly changed my mind to neutral, why would I want them around mine?? It’s really important to shift towards friends who want the same things or already have it. I really needed to hear number 10 about friends cause I’ve never really found that group and I’ve always felt that made me inferior. Especially since everything else in my life is pretty good but I’ve realised now that 1) it’s honestly hard out here to find good, reliable friends as an adult, 2) All I really need is God, my family and future partner. Plus there’s so much jealousy and backstabbing in friend groups nowadays that perhaps I should accept it as divine protection lol. I see some stories on TikTok and Twitter and I know I’d be traumatised by some of these stories of supposed friends plotting on one another.

YEEEEEEEEEEP: All I really need is God, my family and future partner. My married friends I mentioned were just a unit with their husbands, faith and pets and I didn't understand why at first. Friends are great but honestly as we get older the Bible makes more and more sense. I don't take offense anymore like I used to. At the end of the day Jesus loves you. Friends come and go and they're too busy plotting against you half the time. Your family is forever. I only really tell EVERYTHING to my long time friend from college who lives in nyc and another TH-camr Annemarie Chase who travels even more than myself. They're the two matured women I've met in YEARS who don't try to compete. I've met a couple new influencers from TikTok who are also super confident and fun. They add to my life and I'm ok with not living in the same city.

Yes men can be providers but a woman should have a solid foundation and should be able to be independent. She should be able to take care of herself in the event that something happens to their spouse and can no longer Provide for her. Plus you should never solely rely on one person, should always have a backup.

    • @KellyStamps
      @KellyStamps  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +43

Agreed. The solid foundation can be built living at home while working part time and saving her money. She should travel while not tied down. I don’t think it must mean jumping into an average stressful 45 hour a week career with college debt. Many of my Latin American friends live at home and work and study! My friend is literally not allowed to move out and waste money because it doesn’t make any sense. If I got along with my mother, I would’ve stayed there. Completely agree with the job vs. career part, as a twenty yo I choose to focus on getting a job so I can be financially independent from my parents first, then IF needed I will get a professional certification (probably short and online) so I can earn more and upgrade my lifestyle.

i've definitely "grown up" on a similar timeline as i've watched your videos...I've been married for a year and have recently realized that being an adult is something to embrace and not constantly fight and avoid. it took a long time for me to be able to open up to my now husband because I sort of worshiped my own independence in a way that prohibited real intimacy and connection, and now that i've embraced those things life is so much sweeter, and easier!!

At 28 I've also learnt to not be argumentative. Not every conversation needs to turn into an exchange. I'm very good at grey rocking. Not saying you should be avoidant, but choose your battles.
Also learnt not to be confrontational. There are too many dusties/peasants, who won't hesitate to get physical and harm you.

Nahh when I heard you say that you might start posting once a month or even less, I was kinda sad ngl. I've been here for a looonggg time, since you did choreography for different k-pop songs and wig reviews and I've watched how you've come to this moment. It's just amazing. As a black girl who loves anime, drawing, computers, and being soft and feminine the Godly way, it's been so comforting watching your videos.
However, the peace and rest you've been telling us about is God-given. Who are we to determine how He shapes your life and that might include, like you've said stepping back or posting less etc.
Just wanted to say that lol. You're super awesome Kelly

Much needed video. I believe a better life awaits me. Being from Trinidad and Tobago, the mentality and thinking of most citizens are very low-thinking. They think working a 9-5 is the be all end all. They think that graduates can't get hired because we're lazy or not trying hard enough when literally there's an unemployment crises and the government raising the pension age definitely doesn't help the situation. I hope to one day migrate to the US as there's endless opportunities especially with social media and entrepreneurship. It's taken more seriously and supported more abroad.

While I agree that if your goals are stay-at-home-wife a career isn't 100% necessary, women should keep in mind that your "provider man"'s provision will always depend on his love for you. Everyone thinks its forever, but %50 of marriages end in divorce, after which the stay-at-home-wife will have no career, a large gap in her resume, and a home to pay rent at on her own. Hope for the best, but have a plan!

Happiest of birthday! May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you! I’ve watched you since the beginning and it’s been a pleasure to watch you do you. I’ll be 33 this year, and I’ve learned the above as well. Most importantly allow God to continue to shape you. Developing discernment as you continue to age.
As a woman of God, it’s important to always desire to live more like Christ. Even in forgiveness! We forgive because God forgave us. But the Lord also says multiple times throughout the Bible that he not only blots out our transgressions but he will not remember our sins.
    💫 how wonderful 💫
imagine if he didn’t?! We pray for the offender and we pray for the release of our personal resentment. It’s so important that we strive to be the example to non believers, even thru those hard times.

I do find how you communicate to us the life you want to live, the experiences you want to have, and the people you want to surround yourself around at this stage of your life to be valuable information. I think as a black woman you deserve that, I never thought of that being unattainable or unrealistic, i thought of it to be admirable.
