@@oldtimer7635 Very nice! Something new for me. Just checked it out (th-cam.com/video/2liHY3uVyNY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b9QTl3V_Yjz0DBd6). To be clear, though, by "most famous" I mean "most airplay", "most recordings sold", etc. (Not at all a commentary on "quality".). I don't know for sure, of course, but I strongly suspect the Black Crowes version has been heard by more folks.
I attended a New Years Eve concert as we moved from 2019 to 2020. Right after the the midnight champaign bottle's cork popped, the lead singer announced they had one more song to perform and brought the new year (2020) in with "Hard to Handle". They did a great job. Maybe too good. Y'all will remember what a terrible year 2020 was - pandemic, social protests (police killing of George Floyd), natural disasters, killer bees, and on and on. As the band was announcing their next NYE concert, I jokingly requested to the singer that they NOT start another year with "Hard to Handle". :). (I think 2020 was the hardest year to handle, at least in my lifetime so far.)

I wasn't suprised when I searched for a reaction to this song that you guys had done it, and as sson as I saw the thumbnial i was like OOOOOOOOO she gona loooove this one Got that soul, that blue grass, with a rock blues edge. The Black Crows were one of the last bands that couls really grab you in that Kimmi/SRV/ZZ top type rock.blues style. They got that guitar talking to you, tell in you where the feels are at.

Other songs by The Black Crows that you should hear: "She Talks To Angels" and "Jealous Again".
Some other songs you might like: "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" by The Georgia Satellites and "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" sung by David Allan Coe. The last one was billed as the perfect country song.

Great choice! Love the Black Crowes!
Idea: You have not done U2 yet (You have earned iconic band status when your lead singer is known by one name only and the world knows immediately who it is [Bono])- start with New Years Day and let it shake you to your core & take you on a journey. Another along those lines is Pride [in the name of love]. Other great choices are Where the streets have no name, sweetest thing, beautiful day, One, with or without you, Sunday bloody Sunday, angel of Harlem, Desire & the list goes on as the rabbit hole is super deep!

These guys ran with the white southern guys playing blues (like the Allman brothers, Clapton's 70's stuff with Derek and the Dominos, and Lynrd Skynrd) of the 60's and 70's, at a time when it had all but disappeared. The fighting Robinson brothers (Chris and lead guitarist Rich) were the Crowes, and like many brother acts, they fought a lot, and didn't talk to each other for 5 years. Chris notably was married for 7 years to actress Kate Hudson. Pre-pandemic they reunited, and planned to tour around this album (Shake your Money maker). In fact the US tour is about to start May to August here in the US before they head to Europe. Their Amorica album features one of my favorite songs of their catalog "Wiser Time" which really sums up all their influences, and sits somewhere between Hard to Handle and Remedy, with some country and gospel mixed in.
