Another Georgia band you will like is Drivin’ N’ Cryin’. Try “Fly Me Courageous” for a heavier song and “Straight To Hell” for a mellowed sound. Another great one is “Honeysuckle Blues”.

I was born and raised in a small south Georgia town, and I recall back in my younger days we used to gather up down at the river on Friday nights, back the pick-up trucks in a circle, drop the tailgates, get a campfire going, open up the beer coolers, and dance around in the sand with this song blasting on the stereo! Those were great times! Great memories!

There is also...little feat for a lovely southern band. You're welcome! You want to try your hand at Spanish moon from the live album. Also Dixie chicken. Fat man in the bathtub. Willing. OMG you just can't go wrong.

The band released 3 albums before lead singer and guitarist Dan Baird left to pursue a solo career.
Dan is the one with the gap tooth.
    Other Georgia Sattlitws songs include:
    Battleship Chains
Hippy Hippy Shake (from the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail)
Games People Play (a Joe South cover)
Don't Pass Me By (a Beatles cover)
On each album contains at least one cover song. the debut contains Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells A Story.
His first solo record titled Love Songs For The Hearing Impaired - I love the title.
It contains the hit I Love You Period.
It also has the equally cool songsL Julie + Lucky as well as Knocked Up.
After Dan left the band continues to tour with Rich Richards (lead guitar) fronting the band.

I have vivid memories of this being played at high school dances circa 1988 or so, and having a finger wagged in my face during the chorus, by the girl I was dancing with. I think we were both 15 at the time, and there were no hands going anywhere.

Lead singer, Dan Baird, went solo for a while (listen to his album called "Love Songs for the Hearing Impaired" & his song "I Love You Period"). Now he plays with Dan Baird & the Homemade Sin (check out their album called "Circus Life" & the song "Thousand Little Pieces"). The Georgia Sattelites still play, but without Dan Baird, they are a shadow of their former selves.

A lot of local bar bands play this, and it always turns into a riff battle between two guitarists. I've seen them stretch this out to 20+ minutes.

Such a party song. I played in a few bands where we'd do backyard gigs, and this was one that we could do at the drop of a hat and everyone would get into it.

I used to teach line dancing at a tavern and used this song for one of the dances. Even dudes got up and learned that one because of this song.

    Amazing song-smiths.
Always The Last To Know (Single Mix)
    Here and now.
    You might love it.
