Very interesting video. I was glad to find it. I been in love with Emmylou Harris since the mid 1970's when I heard her sing "The Sweetest Gift" with Linda Ronstadt on Linda's "Prisoner In Disguise" album. All of Emmylou's albums that were originally on vinyl I bought again in casttes and cd's as technology advanced. Rodney Crowell was one of the founding members of Emmylou's Hot Band. He was writing songs like they were tailor made for Emmylou to sing. Check out his first album if you haven't already, "I Ain't Living Long Like This" from 1978. One of the best country/Americana albums ever made. Most of the songs were written by Rodney and many of the songs on that album were big hits for other people. In my opinion, Vern Gosdin is the best male country singer from the 1970's until now. He was also a big fan of Emmylou Harris. Nobody sings a sad country song like Vern Gosdin. I loved Vern's and Emmylou's singing together. There's a line in Vern Gosdin's song "Slow Healing Heart" on his "There is a Season" album that goes, "I had hours of sitting alone in the dark, listening to Emmylou and coming apart". You might wanna check out Oak Ridge Boy's "Emmylou" on their "Y'all Come Back Saloon" album from the mid 1970's. Listening to the words in the song "Y'all Come Back Saloon" made me think Emmylou Harris is the girl in the song they are singing about. The story in Emmylou's song "Amarillo" on "Elite Hotel" plays a big part into making me think that. Emmylou and Neil have collaberated several times over the years. Neil Young wrote the title track of Emmylou's "Wrecking Ball" album and sang on Lucinda Williams song "Crescent City". Emmylou appears on his "Prarie Wind" album. Check out Neil Young with Emmylou on "Star of Bethlehem" "Sister's Coming Home" is on Willie Nelson's "Phases and Stages" album from the early 1970's. On the remastered version of "Blue Kentucky Girl" is a bonus track "Cheatin' Is" a beautiful duet with Glen Campbell, who at the time was Tanya Tucker's boyfriend. I'm guessing they were all in the studio at the same time on that day and that's how those recordings came about. I could talk Emmylou all day long. It's always fun to run across somebody who likes Emmylou Harris as much as I do.

During the last two years I spent a lot of time saturating in my favourite music (aka the 7 Honky Tonk Angels, Emmylou being the final one) ... I made this project as a way to celebrate and HOPEFULLY connect with others who either love the music or discover it via the channel.
