The 14 Pro Max didn't have 100% battery health. It would've been nice to know this at the beginning of the video rather than late into it, since it's an important variable.

if you calculate by the hour, that's 4 minutes less per hour.
You're not even losing a full hour on the day.
If you want to compare health, you're not factoring that the 14pro max is using 60hz and 15 pro and max are 120hz that affects battery, might as well set everything to 60 as well

Finally you mentioned that old models are really old with 81 battery health, so we are comparing new batteries vs old ones.
The Iphone 12 had 81%, the 14 ProMax hd 93% all the others 100% or 99%

Honestly shocked at the 12. If you recall at launch the battery was one of the criticisms of that line up. All the models were ~1hr SoT less than the 11 series across the board
I got the 12 rn and battery is 😬 it was good at first but 3 years later 💀 it’s surprising bc the following year the 13's were reported and are still one of the best battery lifes.

iPhone 15 Plus is the best iPhone I’ve ever used, honestly amazing for what it promises. Flawless for what I and most people need. The only reason to not choose 15 Plus is if you have small hands - but the same goes for all plus sized devices released after iPhone 11 Pro Max.

So happy I found this video, I was looking for a comparable number for all the available phones including the SE. I know it's not even close competition, but the perspective of just how different is genuinely really important for me, as an SE user who used to not get out much (thus not needing much battery life and brightness), who now does find the need for those things. Seeing just how much of an upgrade I'll get with all my options is genuinely so helpful, so thank you.

Ive been anticipating this a lot as well, especially due to the degrading of the 14 pro, would be really nice to see how it goes against the 15 pro, which has been having heating issues and is apparently not very good this year.
Why the F has nobody compared the 14P and 15P?! Having the 15P in this video is useless without the actual comparison.

It is hard for me to complain about the iPhone 15 Pro not getting more SOT than the base 15, as it only has 60Hz and uses a less powerful chip. So being so close was very good. The Pros have much smaller batteries than the Max and Plus; they trail those two. Much as expected.
As for older phones getting less battery, my 3.5-year-old S20U with a 95% battery barely gets to 4 hours SOT just doing basic stuff, so I do not expect miracles. In that context, the iPhone SE did really well!
How did you check the battery health for you S22U? Android phones do not have a battery health feature.

I am about to have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I am not that really agreed about that! This iPhone is weak but at least the battery has a better resistance health than the 13 Pro Max and the cameras are better as well. And the blue titanium color looks so gorgeous! 🌑

Almost every TH-camrs test these battery tests indoors where charging is never an issue. Can anyone make a battery test outdoor, under direct/partial sun, with brightness set to auto and using cellular instead of WiFi? That would be the “real” battery test.

iPhone 14 pro max had something definitely going on, there is no way it had that battery drain. Either bad battery health or IOS 17 drain
Apple want this. Battery is the last reason to forces everyone upgrade their iphones.
If only 15 plus has 120 hz it would be a perfect phone
120hz refresh rates screen is one of important factor impacts to batttery life in iPhone series Pro. Though, I'm using SS S23 Ultra but I always set it at 60hz refresh rates except when playing games. 😊
They have adaptive 120hz so they can change from 1 (or 10hz idk) to 120hz depending what's on screen

I got the iphone 12 about a month or two after launch. I had it in optimized charging mode for about a year then turned it off, it still is now. Battery health is 81%, though I might as well keep it off so that I have a reason to go to the apple store later

I was stuck between these two too! I got the 15 pro and I’m using it right now but idk how to feel about the battery 😖 it’s almost the same as my regular iPhone 13 and I usually turn off the 120 display BUT it’s super easy to text on this phone one handed and the screen is beautiful with the small bezels also the camera is a huge upgrade so I don’t think I’ll switch to the 15 plus (mainly because I am usually a one handed user), I am just going to buy a power bank just in case
iPhone 15 Plus is the best iPhone I’ve ever used, genuinely impressed with everything. Would be interesting to see a 60Hz comparison although 60Hz would kind of defeat the purpose of paying unnecessary money for the Pro models. They also have a lot of flaws and issues of their own, some of which may get better over time but I wouldn’t count on it. The only reason to not choose 15 Plus is honestly if you have small hands - but the same goes for all plus sized devices released after iPhone 11 Pro Max.
TLDR:
I recommend iPhone 15 Plus
15 pro will not last as long, smaller battery, more powerful chip, get the 15 plus is overall better, as with the 15 pro you do not even get the same pro max cameras, while the 15 plus has the same camera as the 14 pro models

im curious how are iphone 15 base models working in games like my friend have iphone xs and it works like 120hz in games its very fluid hows iphone 15 perfoming?
As a former user of iPhone 12 Pro Max I was able to get through 17hrs using it non-stop playing TH-cam making phone calls in my pocket while working. Before getting home to plug up or place on charging dock I would be hitting 10%. I had my iPhone 12 Pro Max from launch 3 years plus. Just to add, I never had my screen brightness to 100%, it mostly remained in the middle or slightly below. Now that I have traded my iPhone 12 Pro Max in for the iPhone 15 Pro Max I can easily get over 24 to 30 hours from the same usage while the phone plays in my pocket. Before I get home after a 8 plus hour day the phone is sitting at 84% power. Note this will be different for every user.
My 12prmx also lasted me more than 12hrs with same brightness + usage as yours. It surprised me that people complained the 12prmx battery doesn't last as long compared to the 11prmx and the 13prmx when mine always outrun those two (my friends own 11prmx and 13prmx, we use them at the same time, same things, same setting, 100% battery health). My friends always had to borrow mine at the end of the day because theirs shut down.
Anyways, I was wondering if it is worth upgrading to 15prmx, I think I have the answer LOL. Thanks!

I had the 14 pro Max and switched to the regular 15 pro and I'm surprised to see the battery lasted so long in the test. I was scared to not go with the max this time around but I guess I should be fine

@@bkavpro10 yeah using a big phone is annoying that’s why I switched to the regular pro. So far the first day the battery was terrible I’m guessing it had to optimize and I’m on the 2nd day it definitely got better so far and I made it through the day without the phone dying. I had 24% left when I normally had 44% on the max. So it’s around 20% less for now but I’m hoping it optimizes and I don’t have to return it or just deal with almost getting into low power mode at the end of the day

I love the thing otherwise and I haven't had overheating issues, but I'm really considering returning mine because battery life is just not there. I can barely get one day out of it, and I don't use it that much.

The phone that was timing them was like the camera man of phones. It beat all of them.
The older a battery (even if you don't use it!), its performance deteriorates. What does this mean for the reliability of this test? For example, the 11 is a few years older than the 15.
My 13 has a bad battery bc I couldn’t get more than 4hr on screen time and I had to charge it 2 times in a day. Also I only had it for 2 years and the battery health was 75% which was crazy to me because my sister who uses her 13 to its limits battery health after 2 years was 89%. I immediately around the holidays got me a new 15 plus and I’m happy with its battery
My 14 pro max also weirdly degraded in battery life quickly…

Seems the battery life on the iPhone 15 series varies widely between users for some reason. Plenty of people are only getting 4-5 SOT with the pro/pro max. Be interesting to find out why it's so widely varied for a brand new device.

Because use video, games. 15 pro max draw about 30% more than 13 pro max. But crazy how bad quality battery its on iphone. 1 year 14 pro max cant do 10h sot. Its really terrible😂
There is a bug in the instagram app that drains the battery on iOS 17 and overheats. Could explain why some people have problems and others not.

Just bought the 11 and upgrading to the 11 pro or 12 pro soon (I prefer smaller size phones because of one hand usage comfort). The battery is on 82% and with my usage I charge it again during the day. But it charges quickly so I really don’t mind. However, I would still prefer to get better battery life when my wallet permits.

Would have liked the iPhone XR included here. 😂 yes that’s what I upgraded from. Now got the 15 purely cos of battery life really. I used to get new phone every year when they did different things but from 2015 when I got the iPhone 6s as my first iPhone I’ve only had new phone twice cos they all do same now so not worth wasting money.
