Peter Frampton was exactly what I was thinking as soon as I heard you playing this. That is so much what you here throughout the Frampton Comes Alive album. Makes it so much more interesting to listen to. Great video! Thx
Ford you the man, you break it down better than all the Nashville cats that claim to be giving you the "codes" to note choices your keep it simple approach is what we can grasp thanks!
There’s a lot of people who can get deep into the various aspects of music (theory) on guitar. As a player you know you need to open up an avenue of knowledge to unlock Music. You can even discover that it’s “the basics”. But it’s a teacher, another musician a little further down the path, saying “this way buddy” that opens it all up! 😊 I appreciate you. Connecting the dots
I 'slumped' into the mixolydian! I thought I was playing the major scale, until somebody asked me what scale I was using, and when I checked it was mixolydian. I think a lot of players when playing over something with a lot of Dom7 chords, naturally flatten the 7th without thinking about it, otherwise you'd be playing a 'clashy' note. TBH I do often default to mixolydian fingering, even when playing a major scale, ie using 'modes' of the mixolydian to get to major & minor scales.
This is very helpful! I've been working to get to something like this and you did a great job of explaining and breaking it down. while I can't just switch modes on the fly, there is really good stuff in there for someone like myself. You have a great teaching style! Cheers and keep it going!
Does C sharp minor pentatonic sound good over this as well? Because along with B major scale, I noticed the C sharp minor pentatonic scale is also sounding good over this, trying to understand the theory as to why though lol
I really liked it ... The high Dorian note to start was cool liked it loved it I understand the chords didn't change from the 2 to 5 thing But one of those good goods of pentatonic is it's easier to hear when you switch by modulation Can you display that modulation sound when you play, so you feel a new scale? You were showing major key and chord tones ... But just asking. Like you said .. people make great songs and wonderful careers out of simple things like the pentatonic scale or the major scale and they don't have to modulate they don't have to get crazy. But i like to hear it. The modulation to different scales. How do you highlight that?
That's who I hear in a lot of your phrases. I always heard a lot of Jeff Beck when you have the bar, but Peter Frampton!!! You're an awesome dude Ford !thanks
Hey Casanova, you back off the road giving the ladies a break ? 😱😂. 335 sounds killer. If you don’t have your 50’s Les Paul Gold Top P90’s, do you miss it or are you cool with it being gone ? 😎✌️
Don’t know what it is about the major scale it will not stick in my head. Been trying to get it down for years. Maybe it’s I’m nearly 40 and my head is mush. Loving your lessons man could watch your technique all day

Some of the most musical playing in the business. You have managed to find your own sound that is totally recognizable and inspiring.
You are the man Ford, so inspiring to listen to👏🏻

Hey Ford, Awesome Lesson!👌
Wicked Game.. progression 😏😁
One of Nashville's best.
Nice playing. Sounds a bit like 'Frampton Comes Alive' from the mid-seventies. (Blues with some modes sprinkled on top).
Really good stuff. Cant thank you enough.

I did literally just play with your solo and then I practiced the first three modes though.
