That was a failed repair, I found, but I had a black Kahler to replace it which works really well. The XPL purchase replaced the red Les Paul Limited Edition that arrived in pieces after a very poor packing job
I done with Reverb, I was on there looking for Telecasters the other day and the prices were ridiculous, some were £100 less than new price, even some Harley Bentons were £150 more than new and they are still available
I found a killer deal on a Seagull guitar on guitar center. Was $200 off because 2 of the tuners were broken on it. I’ve also bought some casinos on there for good deals and have always at least broken even on them. None of my casinos have really kit home so I’m planning on buying a new one here shortly.

My best GC find was a brand new Fender Super Reverb Amp for $590 after shipping It was packed in the box like new but it might have been a used store modle or someone bought it and retuned it without playing it. They advertised it as a Tone Master, but I was NOT disappointed to get the tube version for a stupid low price.
The Gothic is a prime example of either someone misrepresenting what they're selling or they just don't know what fair condition means. The the Paul looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages. Can't tell if that's grunge, mold , or just some material that may have come from the lining of the case. Maybe it's just a sloppy cleaning job. I lucked out dealing with guitar center I had bought and paid for a guitar they had on clearance. A representative called me to inform me they had sold it out from under me and shipped it . He then helped me find another one and after having been four months and still didn't have the original guitar I had ordered I asked if he could either throw in some extras like a case or discount the price. They went ahead and knocked off another 15%. Having been in and around classic cars not to mention vintage and antique cars I learned that the same should apply to instruments and especially guitars. I often see some guitars for sale that the owner and some shops call them vintage when they as you said really aren't. They should only be able to put the name reissue and it's year from which it was a reissue of. Most people don't have a clue even what mint condition means. Is maybe those pickups on that Deluxe possibly soapbar pickups? You know what keeps people coming back besides the great guitars you review is how animated your voice becomes.

Picked up a satin natural 2018 SG special used from the Music Zoo, $1100. (Aka the “Bankruptcy SG” as I’ve seen them called) 24 frets, and Firebird pickups! Someone either really buffed up the back of the neck, or they put something on it, as it’s strangely super slick.

I was interested in a 84 Kramer pacer, poplar body and non-slanted banana headstock., I was going to offer 399.00. They wanted 600.00 and would not budge on the price. These things were going for 350 to 400 on ebay.

I hope if you called Ghetto Center they were willing to move on price. Last time I called my local Ghetto (Guitar) Center and asked if they'd move off the price of a guitar I'd been watching for five months without a price drop, the girl I kindly spoke with told me if the market price drops, then they'll drop the price. Just bought a used Epiphone SG Special from GC for 104. It has (what I'm assuming) Seymour Duncans in it. Zebra on the bridge, and a hot neck p/u, as well as Grover tuners and a synthetic bone nut. Just not the greatest of shapes. It's on its way out

I don't think I'll ever be able to look at Guitar Center the same way after them only giving me $95 for a $500 Jackson guitar. I just took a $150 for a $400 acoustic guitar the week before, from them.
My friend I bought the Gibson Les Paul Platinum. It came in the evening I was watching this video (ironic). Love the guitar but it came in an Epiphone case ,,,oh well,the guitar is still cool. Great video as always👍
Vintage has nothing to do with age. Vintage means, that`s the elite, something special. Mostly 50ies and 60ies. A Les Paul custom from 1975 is never vintage.
ive bought my last 5 guitars from musiciansfriend but they were all new ones, never really wanted to buy their open box of used guitars. ive actually 7 guitars total from musiciansfriend. 4 les pauls 2 strats and 1 acoustic electric. always satisfied
Gibson isnt as great as they try and brainwash you into thinking. I've played overseas brands that blow them away. I own a Gibson Explorer. I love it. Kinda?? Not a fan of metal face pickups. Ive changed the bridge p-up. I kept it. So when I get rid of it. What pisses me off is how much I paid for it, I couldve had 2 or 3 guitars. It was a dream guitar for me. As a teen I thought it was so badass. It is!!! But Im regretting my decision

I've had the same experience. I get some great people helping me when I call but I have never gotten a response to an e-mail.

The Vibrola plate on the SG you were mentioning was to make it fancy, 'Derek Trucks style' when in fact, it makes the neck dive a little more offset.

I bought a Fender stratocaster Jimi Hendrix for a good price $739 at GC. They run over $1000 on Reverb. Sam Ash used sometimes has good deals.

used to be able to get some good deals when stores weren't paying attention. The online has made that really not possible.

When I buy from MF I usually go for the open box never had a bad experience and always enjoy the money saved.
