- The Soo Line High Bridge, also known as the Arcola High Bridge, soars over the Saint Croix River between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Seeing a train crossing in daylight is VERY rare, and hard to capture!
We'll see a late running L517/L506 cross, and head towards the Twin Cities, MN area. Power was a pair of SD60s, CN 5428, and CN 5429. After taking in the sights, and views at the bridge, we see it storming up Cardigan Jct. Lastly, after some work at New Brighton, MN, the CN is seen one final time pulling into BNSF's Northtown Yard.
Completed in 1912, it still see's daily use under its current owner, Canadian National. It stands over 150 above the water below, and is over 2,600 feet in length. It is an engineering marvel, and visually impressive.
