Great post - saved me as well - just one note - if you have a luxury edition G35x the opening to the trunk is only a cat door sized hole behind the back seat arm rest and you must reach up into the hole and feel for the latch up top inside the hole to open the trunk release.

Bro this literally JUST saved my ass. Locked keys in the trunk and pop a lock opened the car but could NOT get the trunk open for the life of them. We were there for almost 30 minutes after he broke in fighting with it. He even disabled my alarm system unnecessarily! TF! thank you!!!!!
This solved a problem for us with a used car we bought, thank you! The trunk won't open with the key fob. Wiring is broken perhaps, I've seen that it can be an issue with these cars, now we can check it out!

This is gold. Man the excitement when I found that red strap. This happened once in the past with jumper cables in the trunk and I always keep them in the car now but I just had a fuse go out and my skateboard was stuck in my trunk and man that made me happy lol appreciate it.

Extremely helpful.My trunk stopped working and I figured out the wires that feed the trunk on the right side in the black wire housing came loose because the wires were to short.went to oreillys and got wire to longate the wires.trunk works now.:) Just in case it happens to someone else and it isn't a battery issue.

I wasn't going to bring it to Infiniti for them to charge me an arm and a leg so I drove around a few months without a workable trunk.I finally got tired of it and someone suggested to check the wires. I love your channel. Your advice and presentation is extremely professional with a wealth of correct information..Because of your channel, I realized that had to build this car right and not cheapen out of crucial upgrades.I started my build book because of your channel.Your channel is the first one I check for information.You are helping so many people so thank you :)

My trunk stopped stopped working for years now lol. I tied a string to that release pull and tucked in on the side of the rear seat. So now I just reach bk and pull the string to pop the trunk lol. Too lazy to trouble shoot why my trunk won’t release with the button.
Well I have another video on how to fix the trunk not working but if the plastic piece broke off when pulling it. Go grab some vice grips to grab the metal wire and pull it to open the trunk.

He charged me like 200 for that... and that's because i knew him. Imagine if i didn't. Well, it was that and some other shit i got too, but yeah. What a joke

Bought my '04 in late '03. 15 years later this video saved my @$$. The booklet has this strap in a slightly different place.
