Love how you showed the continuous sewing through three different materials. A creative and, most importantly, effective way of showing this sewing machines capabilities! Thank you!
I got my Janome HD 3000 from Ken's and the service was superb.......it actually came a day early that happened to coincide with my birthday which he wasn't aware of.......it made me very happy.....the price was competitive with other sellers and lastly I love this machine.....actually I have 2 other machines that I have used for utility sewing but this one will do everything I need so plan to sell the others.......only one I will keep is my Singer Feather Weight out of nostalgia.....thank you Ken!!! you won't go wrong working with him...oh at the present I am making a little Koala plush toy out of faux fur to sell for a fund raiser to help the animals in Australia!!
No one ever mentions that with a quality chisel point needle this machine will sew leather. I use it with 3 oz sewn to 5 oz and it goes right through both pieces. For example it's great for wallets, handbags, journal covers, phone cases etc. You won't be making saddles with it but for light leatherwork it's great.
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I don't see many videos on this machine and some of them are not very clear. You did a great job explaining the features of the machine!
I have this machine. It works pretty well through heavy fabric thicknesses. I recently stitched a bear skin hat with this. Wasn't easy but I did it LOL
This was a wonderful review. You were very thorough, and I appreciate that you presented the most pertinent information in a clear and concise manner. Thank you!
Es una hermosa máquina 🤩 lastima no entiendo yo idioma solo hablo español soy de Costa Rica 🇨🇷👍 ojalá puedas responder... Cuál es la diferencia de esta máquina con la negra Janome H3000?
cool...im a buddying hobbyist...been sewing up camping gear for backpacking in the past year...never sewed before that...been making stuff from very light fabrics 0.67-1.0 oz/yd silnylon, ripstop, candendered ripstop for lofted down camping quilts, etc....but want to get into making my own backpacks for fun....my current machine is not happy sewing webbing material or thick stuff....wondering if this machine will replace my current machine entirely (brother xr3240), that is sew the heavy stuff and that light stuff just as well. I live in Birmingham so may pop up and check out your business at some point...asking santa maybe for a new machine
Love these videos, yet I have a question for the knowledgeable... no where on the internet can I find the answer to what is causing my thread to "stick" or get caught onto the uptake tension spring while threading the machine? Can you tell me why?
Hi - I've had this machine for a few years now, love it, but it doesn't seem quite as heavy duty to me. Usually I just lengthen the stitch and put on a walking foot for something thick and bulky, such as a cloth basket with foam interfacing. Today I was sewing two place mats to make a clutch purse with lining. Each mat is thin, double sided and of some sort of polyester or polyester/cotton. At the edges, the four thicknesses seemed to be just too much for the machine, even with the walking foot and a size 18 denim needle. I'm not sure what the problem was; I had to hand turn the wheel until I got off the edges. Even then, I had some tangled bobbin thread on the bottom. Any suggestions? Thank you.
@@KensSewingCenter do I put the vertical spool pin in the little square that’s on top? The extra pin that comes with the machine doesn’t seem tall enough, or do I have to buy another (taller) spool?
Does the machine supposed to hum when you turn it on? Yesterday it wound my bobbin without pressing on the foot. It was just in bobbin position. This machine is a few years old, maybe four. I had used it once before. Now I am trying to make masks for the COVID virus. So is my machine broken or in need of repair.
not sure why ken would see the comment section and not answer your question. try different outlets. make sure the outlet is properly grounded. dont have anything plugged into the outlet/circuit when u have the sewing machine plugged in. no they dont hum when sitting there.. thanks ken ur a big help
There's probably thread tangled up in the moving mechanismz of the machine. take it completely apart all the way down to the final screw and throw it in the toilet and flush it, then call ken and say you want a replacement 100% free of charge and Ken will hand deliver a brand new machine to your door step, set it up for you and sew every single thing you ever wanted to sew and he only charges 1 beer for his lifetime support. But he's the best at getting back to you when you answer questions.
I have a Juki 441 industrial cylinder arm walking foot machine that can stitch through a 1 1/8" thickness of leather and a Sailrite LSZ-1 Ultra Feed walking foot machine for canvas and lighter leather jobs. I am looking for a third machine, something just a bit more domesticated than the Sailrite but that is still heavy-duty enough for canvas and leatherwork, but can still sew lightweight material for shirts and drapes (the Sailrite doesn't work well in this area). Is the Janome HD3000 the best choice, or should I also look at something from Singer and Brother?
Hi Ken. I bought this machine from you 2 weeks ago. After I Put in the bobbin and pull strings to the back. I try tk sew but it just gets stuck and the needle wont move. Any ideas?
oh I forgot to mention the threader doesn't work at all..its a weird button and you cannot see whats happening behind it also the tension button at the top stinks too...the thread ALWAYS slips out unless I wind it around twice other than these frustrating things I like the machine
@@KensSewingCenter I have since given that machine to my Daughter but if you have a video on how to do it? I spent an hour trying to thread that stupid needle using the auto threader
Ken can you tell me between the Janome magnolia, DC 2019 or dc5100 which one would be the better machine hands down for a crafter clothing designer creater for durability stitch beauty and bells and whistles
Ken won't tell you much cause he doesn't like to answer questions of potential customers. He likes to let you think for yourself. But he also says you should get the HD 3000 cause it's the beez kneez
Why not. Just throw it in there and since Ken didn't answer your question, he'll fix the machine if you break it for absolutely free! go ahead, and sew a few rocks together too, Ken's got you covered on that warranty.
Ken will probably say "heck yeah and while you're at it make a tu tu for me" But ken doesn't answer many questions. He figures you'll figure it out on your own.
why bother showing how to thread the bobbin when your arm covers the entire thing and you don't show how to lock the machine to begin threading it. This is silly.
Don't give Ken a hard time. He's Bizzy answering tons of comment section questions all day and night 24/7 non stop and will stop at nothing to answer your question within 10 yrs.. HE's on point!
@@angrydragonkungfu9164 thanks but I wrote that two years ago and have not had a reply. I really wanted to be able to see better what he was doing the bobbin. Well not anymore, I figured it out. I appreciate a comment two years later, that’s funny!

Thank you for sharing. Searched all morning for the correct machine to purchase to sew vinyl. Your video convinced me to buy this machine.
Thanks. I picked up a few things that I didn't get out of the manual.

Can I use a large spool of thread on the 3000 HD?
You can with a vertical spool pin

The harder you press the foot control the faster it sews.

Keep tension set close to 5
How tick tread l can go

Is that right about the 7 piont feed dog system? I've seen that claim in many ads but the Janome webisite says 5 part. I'm sure they could be wrong.
I can verify that this has a 500 point feed dog system but i'm waiting for ken to pipe in to make sure that information is true and correct.
Is there a difference between 1000 vs 3000
great answer ken. you are super responsive 3000 has more features but ken is the expert without the answer
What is the difference between the HD 3000 and HD 3000 BE?
The color , BE stands for black edition
