Omg Jay you hit the nail on the head with cost and perspective. I put off my work because I was afraid of cost. I was so sad all the time because I was embarrassed to talk and smile because my teeth were so bad and I had gaps from missing teeth. I’m gettin implants and right now I’m at the gum healing stage with immediate dentures and already MY GOD I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror and smiling at everyone I come across and taking selfies! I just can’t put a price on that feeling. It’s worth every penny I’m paying.
Hi Jay, thanks for your heartfelt videos. You are paying it forward by sharing your story. These procedures are such a major life changing journey on so many levels from emotional, social, financial, etc. A lot of suffering- much of it emotional and full out commitment for those of us who aren't independently wealthy to decide to go forward. It blew my mind when i read in the comments of one of your earlier videos that you were a patient of Dr. John Keyes at the U of MN. I was like "no way!" I was a patient of Dr. Keyes about the same time that you were i think in 2012 and needed a partial upper reconstruction because of 4 mobile/loose teeth. I really liked Dr. Keyes too, he was excellent and it was fun to see/hear him again in your procedure video. :) Ultimately i chickened out and didn't have the procedure because i was scared and not ready to have all my front teeth pulled. I think they need a support group for younger people who need major work done. I didn't realize nor was i emotionally or mentally prepared for everything and when after a few months i got up the nerve it was too late for me to continue with Dr. Keyes as he was too close to graduation to finish my case so i had to re-apply and start over from the beginning with a new resident. That was really disappointing after finally getting up the courage to go forward. So now, after waiting another 4 years here i am again and of course issues have progressed and the cost and amount of work i needed increased... but i am doing it. My new resident is great too. It's a lot of ups and downs but i'm working through my issues. Just wanted to say you are very courageous for putting yourself out there and caring, answering questions, offering reassurance, etc. That simple act of kindness helps others in the same predicament. So, i knew i must speak up and write this "novel" to let you know you have helped me and impacted my journey. I actually did it... the tough part of having my teeth pulled and am in the waiting period before i get my implants. I hope i end up with as positive a story and outcome as yours. God Bless.
Thank You for all of the kind words. I did NOT set out to make a channel showing the procedures, I recorded them to show my Dad, it just turned out that people had said they wished they could actually see someone getting the process done actually at the dental office, so I started uploading the videos, and I tried to keep the dentist out of them since he was still a grad student. I wish you well on your journey.
Nicely done, Jay. I just had all on four implants put in and I plan to release a similar series of videos to discuss my experiences. I think you handled the whole question of cost extremely well. There is no one price for implants because everyone's treatment plan is unique. Implants cost a lot of money, no doubt. Once you see the process and understand how many people are involved and how extensive the process is, you start to understand why it costs so much. But it's a lot of money. And as far as I'm concerned, well worth it. As far as the people who criticize you for spending that money on your teeth . . . just remember, they're the same ones who would be insulting you and telling you to get your teeth fixed if you didn't do it. You can't win with Internet trolls so it's no use trying.
Thank You, I look forward to seeing your series on your process. Please remember to tell everyone how crazy it is that movie stars will ruin good teeth and have them ground down to stumps to get full veneers and everyone one is jealous of them, but when someone with bad teeth get them removed and replaced by the same materials that are used to make veneers, well then you MUST smoke meth, even though they are NOT the one destroying healthy teeth, WTF. So Sick of one being sought after and the other you get called names for.
Make more videos !!! Looking forward to them. You have a lot of info that could help many. Your personality IS coming through on them which is great !! 😆
I am so happy i ran into your youtube channel and this one young ladies page. Because of you two I finally went back for a second opinion and took action. I had my full upper extraction tuesday evening. I am hanging in there. Just wanted to say thank you!!! side note: you kind of remind me of bradley cooper! I'm sure you have heard that before.
Your teeth look awesome! Going to get bottoms done next. Just waiting on the final uppers (next week). I agree with you on the price and it being worth it. Cars cost the same or more and in 5 years they lose their value and your back to shopping for another car. So yes All on 4 are 100% worth it!
How Jay, I just got dental implants done last week: 5 on top and 5 on the bottom. My question to you is what material is your dentures made of? Acrylic vs Zirconia? I'm trying to decide if I should pay the extra $12,000 for Zirconia dentures as dentist state Zirconia dentures last 20-30 years but regular dentures (Acrylic) only last between 5-10 years. So what materials are your dentures made of & are they snap in or screwed retaimed? Thanks! And btw, your teeth looks amazing!
Hi Jay, question. I've gone through the process and I'm waiting for the lab to send my finals back (upper). Did you go with a little larger teeth than your own or your temp denture? I went with a bit bigger teeth and now I'm so unsure..lol. I tried the wax ins and was still on the fence. The doctor and assistant both said the larger teeth look better than my temp denture as far as the size. Thanks!

Not all dental schools do this.
What is the teeth made of?
Acrilic or ceramic?
It has gotten soooo bad , insurance doesn’t even cover much.
