Yummy Good! Thanks for watching! Cheers! 🥂 Check Out another review at Olde York Fish and Chips, I have been there a couple of times now ! So far my favourite! th-cam.com/video/H8FAAPHzYOk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Z6-9MeOn37aft7sB
Back in the day I use to drown it with salt and malt vinegar as that was what went it and the only thing that was available. Tatar sauce was never around and I don't remember when tartar sauce became a thing in Toronto. Now I can't get enough of it! 🤭 Thank you so much for watching! Cheers! 🥂
Looks good, though not a good portion for that price. Been wanting to try St. Andrews, though they have to improve on that. Love some good tartar sauce with fish. Bonus having a good fish and chips on a rainy day like it was there! Cheers!
Thank you for watching! It was a great day for fish and chips! 🐟🍟 Yeah, St. Andrews Fish and Chips has to portion size and this is the small order, I saw other customers get the dinner portion. The location is out of my way, I saw them on Instagram so I was curious. I usually go to Olde York Fish and Chips on Laird in Leaside neighbourhood and that is still out of my way but closer to Central Downtown Toronto. I also like Halibut House on Danforth and Victoria and that is also out of my way to get to. Olde York and Halibut House, I have cycled to and St Andrew I got there by TTC. @@WhatsCookingwithLizzoC You're welcome. Cool stuff, I'' have a look. Yeah, I've passed by St. Andrews many times being from the area. Though never tried them. Heard the Scottish bakery/meat shop at the end of that plaza, But N' Ben sadly closed down. Too bad, as I love to try some British snacks. They had some shops in the Durham region. Not sure if they're all gone too. There's also Len Duckworth's on Danforth and another location in Scarborough on Kingston Rd. They are popular for fish and chips if you've yet to try them. Another popular on in Pickering is Jasper Fish & Chips.
Seattle: Ivar's fish and chips is "Thee Gold Standard" and no one in the US has measured up! South? Nope! Central? Nope! You would think Boston would? NOPE! The breading on the fish didn't puff, but that's fine. Halibut is a bit hard to see if it is in fact 'flakey' fine...
Thank you so much for watching! Cheers! 🥂 It's heard to find a great fish and chips restaurant, I find it flakey in my experience with halibut. Puffy batter sound like a thick batter which I would not enjoy as I remember at other restaurants back in the day would make it with too much batter, I would take off the excess batter and some places have served the fish with the batter still uncooked I had a lot of bad fish and chips when they would coat it with too much batter. This fish and chips is made perfectly! Check Out this food review! Olde York Fish and Chips is on the top of my list! th-cam.com/video/H8FAAPHzYOk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TDHkhMwS0Ds29WBl
I use to go for malt vinegar back in the day as tartar sauce wasn't available then but once tartar sauce came about in Toronto I am all over it, I love tartar sauce! Thank you so much for watching! Cheers! 🥂
as soon as i saw the fish and chips portion for $21.99 i quit watching..that is a rip off...certainly the portion size is very small.....perhaps the quality is different..but for $21.99, i would have expected a large fish and a lot more fries....no wonder the place is empty
HALIBUT & CHIPS . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 21.99 (a la carte ) $26.99 (Dinner) Yeah, that is the going price in Ontario, and this is Scarborough not even Downtown Toronto. I saw them on Instagram, so I was curious. Now I know, one visit is enough as it is out of my way to go back. There are other places I would go back to, check out my other reviews on other Fish and Chip Restaurants! Well, thanks for watching part of this review! Cheers! 🥂

Salt and vinegar would have made it tastier. Glad you enjoyed.
