@ it was fantastic! We had unlimited oysters and lobsters. There were so many seafood options and all the food was so fresh. It was amazing!!! Also I got free meal because of my birthday. The staff were also very friendly and the seating areas is very spacious! I enjoyed this buffet better than (dragon legend or dragon pearl) this is hands down my fav buffet spot
That is a large sushi selection. Most buffets just have a small corner for sushi, and many use to play it safe with stuff like smoked salmon. Its been years even before COVID since i last went to a buffet, so i don't know how much has changed. I saw the signs for this spot a couple months ago, and I definitely have to try them. There are a few standout items i just haven't seen in a chinese buffet.
Went there today at around 1:30 and the line-up was crazy, more than 100 people before us! @Brian: Did you go there for lunch or dinner because I didn't see most of what you had?
i went for dinner - i didnt get to try a lot of items due to the lack of food when i went around - had to wait for some items to be refilled - and i noticed a discrepancy of items being served on the carving station from day 1-3 based on friends reviews
@@torontofood I just made a round of looking inside without actually sitting down as the wait was too much was me. Dinner is quite pricey so I probably would go back next week for lunch when the craze tapers off a bit. That said, I went in and made a round of looking around and, like you, found their selection very limited and also didn't find their food too appealing. To be honest, before the pandemic, there was a Scarborough Super Buffet for about $12.95 for lunch on Markham Road near Ellesmere that I loved visiting. Their selection was even more appealing than what I saw there at this new joint.
@@ritapang8963 If the wait isn't like this next week, I would probably give it a try since they have 20% discount at this moment. Also, if you are a senior, their definition is over 60 years old while most other establishments define senior as 65+
We went this past week, the staff were great really nice the food selection was ok but to me this was a one and done, I was sick to my stomach a cpl hrs after being here, as well as the food had some weird after taste. I really hope it gets better cause I like the area as well as the staff were amazing.
Thanks for the review. I’m about 15 min away. Might have to try it. Is there a time limit and do you know when they will stop the 20% soft opening discount?
Discount is for month of September, I strongly recommend you to go after the discount is over, just paid little extra, sure is less crowd, food is better, and faster refill
thanks for the sub! preferred over Mandarin due to the crab/peking duck being offered but i think logistically dragon pearl/legend better at the moment - the peking duck wrap at asian dragon better imo - i would probably try again in 2-3 months after they have figured out line, food placement/process
@@torontofood Think they should pull out more small tables, sharing table is a bad concept, it definitely stop me from going, I am not picky, but I enjoy my privacy while eating out, sharing table is like eating in a food court,
@@glennauyoung5180 yea I noticed that too - I was originally going with one friend and then when I saw the reviews about it I gathered more people to join
@@torontofood yeah I noticed in your video that they have a lot of empty space. Usually Chinese restaurants would want to pack a lot of tables and not waste a lot of space. While i like the roominess but if it's at the expense of having less smaller tables and having to share tables with strangers, i would rather they add more tables. In another video, there was mention of round tables which is not common with buffets? Their explanation (assuming the person who filmed that video spoke with the owner) was that the the restaurant plans to have the option of hosting events so it would better to have round tables and a stage. If that's the case, I think this restaurant is planning WAY ahead and totally insignificant to them at this time. They should tackle the problems they have right now which is to have more tables (especially smaller tables for small parties) and their food refill speed.
Give it time to improve, not really fair to compare with buffet that had been opened for a while, sure every new buffet had make mistakes in the beginning
From the video, food look low end quality. $50 on Friday, hmmm It's not a good impression to start a Buffet Restaurant. Especially on soft opening. Reviews online were as low as 2 stars. Yikes!
not too much food at some stations - had to wait a bit for some items - good sushi section though - but lots of other inconsistencies which may need improvement
Agree,it looks like they have poor preparation for this new buffet, plus they ask people to share table when small tables are filled up,which is kind of stupid in my book,no one like to share table
They force customers share the big tables with the strangers. They never think about the customers will have a fight for misunderstand or pick the wrong glass cup to drink. There are full of knieves and forks as weapons.

Hey i saw you there last night. THIS IS SUCH A HORRIBLE RESTAURANT. the bbq section is nearly empty because the staff is playing slow motion of grilling your food.
