@@MikeRobertsReptiles I’m in the planning stages of building a 6x2x2 for a SD retic and I’m definitely going to use your method!! Thanks for posting such an informative video
Hi. I'm Alberto and I'm writing from Italy. Browsing through snakes channels (I've been keeping them for 35 years) I discovered your channel. I immediately recognized the type of cage I had seen in Vince Russo's book, which I bought at a reptile fair here in Italy (after a few months I discovered by chance that the copy was autographed!!!!). Your videos are very well done and the way you speak allows me to understand well even without the translation (even though, to be honest, I'm not very attracted to morphs). In particular I really liked this video. You do in 1 hour what I would need a week for!!! I currently have a Suriname and a ball python. Best wishes for your work!
I appreciate you watching my videos. If there is ever a subject you would like me to cover just let me know. Vince Russo's book is very good and I'm blessed to have a few pics in it. Thanks
Wing it. It's much more satisfying to know it's ALL yours. Make an exploded drawing first (you know, like the parts list that comes with small electrical appliances), and label all edges. You don't necessarily have to have all sizes exact beforehand. Measure and cut to fit as you go.
Do you remember what type and thickness wood you used? Ive always had to use 2x4 framing which added too much weight and took away too much usable inside space. But if whatever you are using will mean I wont need 2x4s im totally down to copy you.
2x4's are too big. Use 2x2's or 1x2's. I personally don't trust putting screws into the edge of plywood. That's just me. If you have to take it apart to move it leave the 2x2's attached to some parts and reassembly is easy. Also using small framing pieces (2x2, 1x2, even 1x1 for small cages) lets you use thinner cheaper plywood or other types of panels for the box itself.

Great build. How tall are the pieces that hold the track?
The plywood used is BC exterior 0.578 inch thickness. Drilling pilot holes minimizes the risk of splitting.
Wut size plywood?
Hey Mike, nice video. You don't put in some air holes?
I dont but you can. It helps keep the humidity where it need to be
What's the dimensions? Will it be enough for a Brazilian rainbow boa adult?
4 foot long x 2 feet deep x 19 inches high. Yes would be a great size for a Rainbow boa.
@MikeRobertsReptiles do you know the dimensions of the glass you used?
Only big enough for a small one 4ft max. My rainbow is almost 7ft so this’d be way too small. They average 5-6ft though so I’d aim for 6x2x2 minimum
Do you have a cut list?

Hey mike what do you use as your heat source on these cages?
I use herpastats for all my cages
How much do you pay per glass panel?
Its around $10 each

I get it at Lowes 19/32-in x 4-ft x 8-ft Pine Sanded Plywood Item #12221
