Note - the audio on this video is a bit weird. Sorry about it only coming out the left side! 😅 Also - I was wrong about beacon being open source - turns out the situation with beacon vs cartographer is more complicated than that. I've seen accusations of "stolen code" but have yet to see hard evidence.
My printer came with this inside the print head, yours is WAY faster than mine thou, i dont think mine uses the nozzle as the probe thou, and seems to level the bed perfect every time. Mine also after it hones the axis of x and y, it moves to a little silicone pad and whipes the nozzle off, it then retracts the filament a bunch to make sure none will come out before it begins the scanning process.
up it to 40x40 mesh at a speed of 700+ thats what I use with Cartographer its awesome. The Eddy tech is great to see being utilized by the companies for this.
@andrewesquivel yea so far it's great. I went for it over beacon due to the can support so didn't need to run another full set of cables for usb like beacon. I have had my carto for over a year now and it's changed my bed leveling
@@andrewesquivel beacon can cause issues with big tree tech boards. and why support beacon and not the inventor of eddy currents... in all actuality beacon is just using someone else tech
I didn't mean to suggest that Beacon invented, or discovered Eddy currents. That being said, When comparing Beacon to cartographer, there was a time when cartographer was using Beacon code without proper attribution. Selling your product for half the cost without doing any R&D to undercut the developers could lead to the developers being discouraged in furthering the project
I was actually surprised to see that Beacon didn't offer any sort of can compatibility. That being said, Beacon is also rated for a higher temperature usage then cartographer, and I plan on doing some high temp specialized printing
Hey just to point something out, for me personally your audio is a bit annoying. So when your pointing the camera at something alot of the audio is in the left ear, when the camera is pointed at your face it seems to be equal I think testing out mono audio could be decent idea or if you have a seperate audio for your voice to make that mono. You definitely don't have to do this, just something to possibly look into to make your content a bit better. Sorry if me pointing out my personal issue with it has caused any annoyance Overall the video was nice, and informative I will definitely consider getting one of these/looking into it further (such as if anyone has success with my printer, sv07+ )

Super awesome to hear that cartographer is working well as well. I might try it out on my other Ender 3 rig

Bro I thought my headsetbroke your sounds on the intro is onesided
That's my bad. The mic on the camera was in a weird spot. I'll use a proper mic next time. 😅
