- This is a tutorial on how to PlastiDip your wheels. In this video, I am using my Camaro and using black PlastiDip and gloss to paint the back wheel. This is the quick and easy way that does not require removing the wheels, as that can be overly time consuming and not necessary. I will show tips on how to get it done easily and will show a before and after view of the wheels. The wheels do not need to be sanded or prepped as it is not actual paint it, is a rubber bonding that is removable and sanding the wheels would scuff them if one ever wants to remove the PlastiDip; all the wheels need is to be clean and dry. 1. Wear a mask, the plastic dip is toxic and can damage your lungs.
2. Cover or tape the tires, if you don't, the plastic dip on your tires can start to peel off along with the dip on your rim.

I wouldn't hold down the spray nozzle like hes doing you will get uneven paint layers, sprays and well just watch him doing it you can see the puddles of paint he leaves in some places as hes moving to the next spot. Use smooth short bursts of paint the can is pressurized so holding it open the entire time gives you uneven pressure coming out of the can.

Aim for a can per wheel. Then you shouldn't be left hanging waiting to buy more. Use the left overs for touch up or doing badges, which looks cool

I was worried it would be textured or run due to how close and heavy you sprayed. More coats equals easier peel off later.

Because white sox leave white lint all over the tires. Black it not noticeable. Either one will eventually fall off but black it less work.

You forgot to mention to put dip release to the tire, that way people dont spray the tire and later they cant take the plasti out
tip set the can in warm water or out in the sun sprays on alot better

so what happens when u rotate the wheels? or the lugz
My wheels are staggered so the tires in the back are wider than the front. So I don't rotate my tires. But with any other car the dip will rip off of the lugs when you remove the wheels and rotate them most of the time. But then you just need to reapply it to the lugs afterwards.

I detail cars as a owner I would have done two different things I would have done two more glossifier coats and I would have taken their lug nuts off so that they pop.

This product is not worth the time , effort or money to apply to your wheels. I tried it and did it correctly, but it still lasted no time at all. Go the powder coat or paint alternative!

Dosnt really matter, comes right off. plasti dip has a tendency to naturally break at seams so when you spin the nuts around it usually comes out just fine
