The subtitle given the Legend D show, 聖誕祭, literally translates to Holy Birth Festival. It's a version of 生誕祭, pronounced the same, that means plain Birth Festival. 聖誕祭 Holy Birth Festival is often used by fans in Japan to refer to the birthdays of their favorite idols. This would be an ironic usage for BM, as the narrative is they were resisting the idol world. Also, 聖誕祭 is used for the birthday of a famous person who has died - it can refer to Christmas, the Nativity, for instance - and of course Su gives her life on the cross here. This song is well known in Japan, often covered, BM are one of dozens of artists to do so. It's a song that often appears in school music texts and is often performed in school choral concerts and competitions. The chorus in BM's version is in that style.

Well, I rarely listen to Japanese pop / rock music except for a certain my favorites, so I honestly have nothing to write about 'White Love', and I wrote a boring ramble earlier, huh. But I do have something to say about this 'Give me wings'. But it is not about Evangelion! First of all, as you said, the high notes of Su-'s are really beautiful here at around 1:59. And as you said again, this song was the last song of the live, and according to a fan blog at the time I read, it seemed to have been the lore in that Su- sacrificed herself to save Yui & Moa from falling into the clutches of a giant force, 'Idol', ha. It had very little staging of Su-'s birthday celebration tone, and it seemed that Koba later said that it 'had done a bit too much', but I am not sure about the source of that, haha... Now, about this song, or rather, about the group that first released this song, 'Akai Tori' (赤い鳥, Red Bird), I have never seen or heard them in the real time, of course, since they were active around the time I was born, in 69-74. But the band members were all influential in the Japanese music scene. For example, Shuichi 'Ponta' Murakami on drums and Kenji Omura on the lead guitar, became members of my favorite, Naoya Matsuoka's latin band after Akai Tori broke up. Ponta was the drummer who had made the great contribution not only to jazz fusion, but to the Japanese music sccene as a whole, even more so than Hideki Aoyama's father, Jun. I have seen his live gigs in several bands. Junko Yamamoto, the vocalist, formed a vocal group, Hi-Fi-Set with Toshihiko, her husband and Shigeru Ookawa. They are famous for the Coca-Cola commercials in Japan. But they have many more good songs. I forgot to say this last. Happy Birthdday Su--!

Even Moametal and Yuimetal thought it might be that way, if you look closely you can see their sad faces, maybe even crying on stage at 2:18 This show had a lot smaller budget, so doing the cross/pyro this way worked well. 🙂
Happy birthday again to Suzuka. Today I am going to watch the Legend S blu-ray, which I've seen many times and is one of my favorite Babymetal performances despite the lack of Yui. And can we appreciate their beautiful voices on this, especially Su. She has brought me to tears too many times to mention.
Nice reaction. this is a well-known song they Babymetalized a bit at the end. If I remember correctly this is around the time Su was leaving (graduating) from Sakura Gakuin. Yui and Moa didn't know what was going to happen with Babymetal after this show. This might have been the last show they do together. However, what they didn't know was that Su already decided to keep Babymetal together. From here they would go on together to make the history books. Happy 25th birthday Su-metal. Now go have that beer with Moa. She's been waiting for it since she turned 20. lol
The flame at the end was a lot closer than what they had rehearsed and it seems Su got pretty scared. So scared that in a 2021 interview she still remembered, that's why we know it happened xD
