    Harry is not a mudblood, he is a Half-Blood his father is a pureblood wizard, his mother is a muggle born witch. That makes him a Half-Blood. Hermione is a mudblood because both her parents are non-magical, she is muggle-born like Harry's mother.

    • @melodramatic7904
      @melodramatic7904 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A half-blood is someone born to one wizrd parent and one muggle parent. Voldemort is a half-blood, snape is a half-blood, Harry himself is considered pure blood.
      I had to edit because I included Hermione and harry''s mother as half-blood but they are not. They are mudbloods: wizards born from two muggle parents.

    • @VonOutlaw
      @VonOutlaw 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @melodramatic7904 I used to think the same thing with Harry being a pureblood, but he's not because his mother was muggle born he is not a pureblood he is a half-blood. Not his kids but his kids kid would be a pureblood if they married listen to Wizarding world then, their blood would be considered pure again. All of this was explained on The Wizarding World, AKA Pottermore. But Harry's father is a pureblood but his mother is muggle born therefore making his internal grandparents Muggles on his mother's side. Which makes him a half blood.

      @VonOutlaw I looked it up again, and you are right.
      I don't think it makes sense, buuuuut the official word is as you said. Someone with muggle parents (snap/voldemort) and/or grandparents (harry) is cinsidered halfblood.
      I learned something new today. 😌
      I guess it's modeled after the 1 drop rule in the States.

    A little random fact from the world of Harry Potter, the Skele-Gro potion they make him take to grow his arm bones back actually was created by one of his relatives on his dads side, and that is where most of his familys fortune came from! They created a few other important ones too, but Skele-gro is the only one we really see in the movies.

    Harry's full name is Harry James Potter. James is his father's name and tbh i see it also being Harry's middle name as another very solid connection with his dad. it doesn't get mentioned in movies properly, but Harry is very VERY much like his parents, especially his father in both terms - physical (in the books characters who got to knew James always made sure to point out how crazy Harry's similarity to his dad is, they've basically called him his copy) and mind (their way of thinking about things, behaving patterns and a lot of personality traits are also hella similar, which gets less mentioning but still worth of knowing). this might be a useless piece of information for y'all, but imo it's better to keep this fact in mind while discovering the HP world and going along the ride. when you get to think about Harry impersonating his parents, it really helps to unfold new angles and understand the perspective of some characters better

Him and Voldemort are exactly the same because a half blood is a half blood regardless of Harry’s parents both being magical and Voldemorts father being a muggle. Harry’s grandparent is a muggle. So by definition, they are both half bloods just by a different generation. Also, both Voldemorts and Bellatrix’s words are fact. If your parents or their parents, etc, were part human, part Wizard - so are you. You can either be all one thing, and pass that on, or be a mix of things, and pass all of those things on. You can't be part Wizard, part Muggle, and produce something that is ONLY a Wizard.

Also, every time I hear Hermione say "She's a little sensitive" to describe Moaning Myrtle, I always have the same first thought: A LITTLE sensitive?"
    Side note: Hedwig is a snowy owl. They have white feathers with black spots that act as camouflage when they're hunting, their wing feathers are ruffled to muffle their wing flaps so prey animals don't hear them coming (like all owls, really) and they're the only birds in the world whose feet aren't bare, due to their habitat being snowy areas, like the Arctic Tundra.

    Normally this is the point when I write to TH-camrs doing reactions to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by saying that the thing about the Harry Potter books is that the author, JK Rowling originally wrote the series for adults. It was the book publishers that decided to advertise it as children's books. If you read between the lines of the story you will see it is a satire. First, one has to understand that you the reader are looking at the story through Harry Potter's point of view as he grows up throughout the years at Hogwarts. In the first book and movie Harry is 11 years old so you see his world from his 11 year old mindset and maturity. But as he grows up and begins to understand things more and more the story gets darker and less innocent as he matures with age.
    But I am not going to continue to say anything more of what I usually say because you guys successfully get it and understand. Many people tend to miss the symbolism behind the film but you got it from the second you saw Dobby. You understand that though in the wizarding world there is no racism against people of color there is immense discrimination against wizards and highly sentient magical creatures that bigot wizards don't consider to be pure in magical blood. I congratulate and applaud you so much. Kudos to you two for comprehending this great satire story. 👏👍
    To be embarrassingly honest when I saw the film the first time back when it was first released in theaters I foolishly didn't fully see the connection. I'm a Dominican-American. How could I not see it? But when I picked up the book after and read all the full detailed story for the first time I finally got the light bulb flash above my head. But like I said, that's the thing about Harry Potter. It's a coming of age story. You understand as he understands because it is according to his point of view. Being only 12 years old at this point he has yet to see the ugly similarities between the real world and magical world. But as he matures the story gets darker with each year he ages because he understands more and more as he sees the truth more and more.
    🏰🧙‍♂️🧙🏻‍♀️🧒🪄⚡️📽🎞📚🤔😮💡❤️‍🔥

    The word 'muggle' refers to someone who has no magical abilities. It has no negative connotations. The word 'mudblood' is refers to wizards and witches who were born to muggles. It's a word that's always used as an insult. The M-word is the wizarding world's equivalent of this world's N-word, if you needed it spelled out. It's always used as derogatorily.
    They are two different words that describe different things in different ways. Not interchangeable. It's always seemed to be explained pretty clearly. I'm sure once the movies seem less like kids movies, they'll feel, to you, more worthy of paying closer attention, and you may even feel moved to stop using those two words interchangeably.

It's important to recognize that our reactions to a character like Dobby is informed by our unique sensibilities and sensitivities. Critiquing our reactions without understanding this context overlooks the depth of our insights and the complexities of our perspectives. Let's approach these discussions with mindfulness and respect for diverse viewpoints.

    So, one thing I want to mention is why Dumbledor gives them so many points at the end of the year, even though they broke school rules. Because a lot of people, I have heard, believe they didn't deserve them because of the rules they broke. But I disagree, yes kids shouldn't be rewarded for breaking school rules, but they weren't. They were rewarded for stopping Voldemort (twice, in this film and the previous one) and killing a basilisk. The good they did outweigh the rule breaking. I mean, like I said, these kids (both in the first movie and in this one) stopped Voldemort (the darkest wizard alive, who has killed hundreds, if not thousands, of people) from coming back to full power. If they were then punished after that for breaking some rules (even if it's 50) wouldn't be right. Because they literally saved the school from a dangerous threat, twice. And in this film, Harry also killed the snake that was petrifying people too. So, I think the points and special rewards they got at the end of both films was well deserved, but that is my opinion.
    By the way, what's interesting about the trio (Harry, Ron, and Hermione) is that they each represent a specific type of wizard. Ron is a pure blood wizard (like Draco, but Ron and his family don't care about blood status like other pure bloods). Hermione is a muggle born witch (meaning she was born in a non-magical family, but still developed magic herself. This was also the case for Harry's mother, that's why his aunt and her family are muggles), and Harry is a half-blood wizard (a wizard whose family has muggle blood ties. In Harry's case it's because his mom was muggle-born, and his dad was pure blood).

He is very endearing especially in the books. Ok, as far as bloodlines go. The purest of Pure-Bloods r from "The Sacred 28". They include the Malfoys & Weasleys.These families r very inbred & r comparable to the Hapsburg family of europe. Although the Potter family is Pure-Blood, they were not put in the "Sacred 28" because it was believed that sometime in the distant past they mingled w/a Muggle-Born/a muggle, due to Harry's ancestor changing the family name to Potter. Harry coming from a Pure-Blood father & a muggle born mother is considered a Half-Blood. The funny thing is Tom Riddle aka Voldemort is also a Half-Blood. If u listen to the speech he gave Harry, then u heard him say something like "Do u think I would keep my filth muggle father's name?" Tom Riddle's mother was a Pure-Blood witch from 1 of "The Sacred 28" families & his father was a handsome muggle w/whom she fell in love. As far as Muggle-Born witches & wizards, there is a belief that they have a witch/wizard somewhere in their bloodline, but the magic went dorment. There r pure magical families that have non-magical children that they call Squibs. Most often a Squib will go live in the muggle world because they r made to feel they don't belong in the wizarding world. An example of a Squib is Mr. Filch, the geezer w/the cat aka the school janitor @ least that's how I see him. He has no magical abilities. Anyway, hope this explains some things. I really liked your reaction.😊👍

    Just fyi & to help remember: each movie is related to how old they are. So in the 1st movie Harry (& crew) just turned 11. 2nd movie they’re 12, 3rd they’re 13 & so on…they’re 16 in the 6th movie😉.

    Okay since clearly you're having trouble with the Weasley girl's name. It's not Jenny. It's Ginny short for Generva (literally I have had a facebook friend. I don't recall if she's still on my list cuz I don't play games anymore. I added a girl because of some games I used to play on Facebook. Who was Virginia who went by Ginny also)

    RE: why does Harry keep things like in the last movie or hearing voices in this one to himself and not tell any of the teachers when its clear they want to help him? Obvs the books goes into it a lot more but Harry has clearly been emotionally abused and gaslit for 11 years by the Dudleys. They continuously berated and belittled him, and when he was honest about all the weird things that kept happening to him they gaslit him and punished him for it. He learnt from a very young age not to trust adults because they are not likely to be on his side and never be honest with them EVER. So even when this miraculous thing happens to him and it turns out hes not crazy he is determined to make sure nobody takes it away from him (Side bar - Harry literally spends the majority of the first three books convinced hes being punked or that at any moment someone is going to tell him that all of this is a dream, its really depressing). So when Dumbledore or other teachers are genuinely trying to help Harry or ask him questions he cant help but keep it to himself so he can protect himself. its not a major plot point but it does answer the obvious question as to why he doesnt just tell the teachers the truth about whats happening.

    Some people probably already commented that the elves do have a bigger part in the books. They never really mentioned it much if at all in the movies. Hermione got really serious about standing up to the mistreatment of magical creatures (house elves especially). Lets just say, the castle doesn't clean it self 👀

    First of all, in this fandom we do not use the m word
    Second muggleborn is born from muggles. Half blood is one muggle or muggle born parent and one pure blood parents. If you don't have any muggled DNA, then you are a pure blood, but according to hagrid most people have at least a little bit of muggle DNA, however much they might deny it. And by the way, if you'll notice all the bloodiest racist parallels well yeah, the one dropped rule applies. So if there is any trackable muggled DNA in you, your considered a half-blood also, there's another thing that's rarer than muggleborns. It's the reverse muggle board. It's known as a squib. That is when somebody is born to a wizarding family but has no power of their own. That is right now. The only character you'd know by that description would be filch but in the fifth movie you meet a woman from privet drive who also is a squib. She was basically that baby hairy was put there by Dumbledore so he could keep an eye on him by somebody from the wizarding world who isn't necessarily magic herself so she could comfortably live in a muggle neighborhood. She wouldn't be missing out on anything. Also, there's some creatures that you never seen in the movies that are mentioned in the book like some wizarding pets that you don't see in the movies, but there are some specific dog and cat breeds that are magical. Like there's one that looks like a Jack Russell terrier. I forgot what it's called but it's very very very protective of its family and very anti muggle. That is basically the little s*** will keep uggles from getting too close to the wizards house so they don't accidentally see any magic. And they have a painless severing Trump that they have to do when these things are born if they live anywhere near muggles because otherwise they'll be born with a forced tail so they need to have that docked and it's not directly stated in the movie, but it's heavily heavily heavily implied that a couple of cats in the series might be part kneazel which is a wizard cat breed. The main thing about them is they. They are very good at reading someone's intentions. They can tell if somebody is a good guy or a bad guy. Just like on site they have a little bit higher intelligence to I believe and rumor has it. The cat that Hermione gets in the third book might be about half and there's also rumor. Never technically confirmed but heavily implied that that cat she got in the third book may have been the cat that hairy grew up with that you hear about later in the series because nobody mentioned finding the cat at the house when they found baby hairy. So clearly it ran away when what happened happened and basically the house was destroyed. Also that lady who is a squib. She is a crazy cat lady who's got a ton of them and rumor has it. At least half of them are kneazels or at least kneaxel mixes

    I just felt the need to clarify that "mudblood" is a slur, its so jarring whenever I hear people say it in reaction videos haha. It means exactly the same thing as "muggle-born", only wizards who hate muggles and muggle-born wizards use the term "mudblood"! Harry is half-blood, his mother was muggle-born and his father was a "pure-blood" wizard.

  • @DannyBedo

    “Do they have field elf’s?” Omg as a colored kid reading these books it’s insane. The real discussion we are having is that high level “pure blood wizards” is an analogy for fascism. In the books Hermione is constantly promoting the freedom of “house elf’s” there’s a lot of coding going on in these books and yes. It’s exactly what you think.”Free Elf’s Forever”
    Edit: anytime you hear “mud blood” replace it with “n” with the hard “er”

    Dumbledore was about 110 in this movie.
    This is the longest movie in the series. This is probably about and 8.5 since I can't use 7. However my scores will inevitably be influenced by reading the books first before each movie.
