I was turned on to Trammell Starks when I was traveling through New Orleans and heard this as my husband and I lay on our bed in the hotel pondering where we were to go that night for dinner -it was a rainy night and this haunting melody was playing on the Weather Channel and I will never forget that memory with my husband and will always associate it with rainy nights and my husband by my side I am a widow now and its a very fond memory of my Ken
Funny how melodies take me to a place of refuge and bliss with my husband way back when.....a much sweeter time in my life and at the height of my love with him It was a few days to celebrate his birthday and I will always cherish the moments
Side note, I have been e-mailing Trammell, and not only does he respond, but he is the nicest, down to Earth person. The music, and the person behind the music... are both awesome.
I tried emailing him to get this song to play at my Nana’s funeral last March but unfortunately he didn’t respond. Nana absolutely loved the Weather Channel
The fact that so many people feel the same way about this song as I do, is amazing. I too love this song endlessly and I recall keeping TWC on all night in hopes of hearing it. Sometimes I’d wake up in the middle of the night and catch it. It also had taken me years, and for technology to advance, before I actually found it (and Trammell’s other work). 💙💙💙
Beautiful to see so many hearts touched by this music - I use to wake up and my entire mornin was centered around the weather channel. Sometimes I’d get off work at 1am, walk home and get there by 2 and just stay up watching weather channel and smoking weed ☺️
I truly love this instrumental. It reminds me a lot of 80s music, like Bruce Hornsby. I remember how, back in 2006 and 2007 (when I first began watching the Weatherscan channel) I would run to the TV every time that I heard this one come on. I don't care if people think that it's cheesy or "elevator" music.I'm a pretty hardcore musician -- I like all kinds of stuff. I have enjoyed everything from King Crimson to King Diamond, Avenged Sevenfold, Don Henley, Triloc Gourtu, Kelly Rowland, Mis-Teeq, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, and everything else imaginable. I just happen to love this tune.
I agree it definitely sounds like the 80's and a bit like Bruce Hornsby. But personally, to me, I think of productions by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Think songs like Human by The Human League, Can you stand the rain by New Edition, Tender Love by the Force MDs, Sunshine by Alexander O' Neal, etc.
@hedonisticmisanthrope Personally, to me, I think of productions by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Think songs like Human by The Human League, Can you stand the rain by New Edition, Tender Love by the Force MDs, Sunshine by Alexander O' Neal, etc.
Appropriate title to this tune. Every time I hear it, it brings me back to 1996. I was still in high school and everyday before school I would get up, eat breakfast, take a shower, then sit down and watch the weather channel before I left. This tune was always on in the morning right before I left the house for the day. Thanks for putting all these tunes up. This one was always my favorite!
I used to listen to this song when I went to DeVry University and I lived in Duluth Georgia in my room I lived at century Park Apartments and I used to leave my TV literally on the weather channel and listen to the whole catalog of music that would play one after another!!! And this one was ultimately my favorite one I definitely remember it because it was playing when I discussed heartbreak over a friend of mine who never called me again and he was really mad at me the last time I saw him and my mom said he's going to be okay while this song was playing. Plus it reminds me of all of the times I lived over there. The song is magical because I'm going to move back over there and I just found this song! I did not expect to ever hear this again and I kept digging through all of the catalogs of music and found it!!!!
I used to study for promotion (E7) to this music because that was the only music I could get in the alert facility. Since the weather channel went “Tango Uniform” I had lost hope finding this incredible music until just last week I heard Trammel on Pandora, connected the dots and found myself tearing up riding home in traffic.
we still have the Weather Channel of course, but it is not an integral part of our days and life like it was back then, the lack of jazz (and all the non weather related shows ) might have something to do with it.
