Awesome video as always. The B-1 is such a powerful aircraft that at a MCAS Miramar Airshow a "few" years ago it shook the ground as it lifted off. That is the only time I can remember experiencing an aircraft do that. Also loved the countryside and sunset around the base. Thanks for sharing.

Been to this park several times and it is always an awesome show. Just keep in mind that while this is a public park, you and your vehicle are subject to search.

They sometimes ask for ID but there is no problem. They are good. They just say that if you take photos, do not take close up shots of the buildings. Planes are ok as long as buildings are not clearly seen.

What park is this? I'd love to take the kids.

@@clarkchannell5338 Rister Park on the NW side of the base. Public park but the AF police does go by there often so always have ID ready in case they ask. If you photograph, do not take pictures of the buildings.

I know that park in Tye very well. Sat there many times at night while I was stationed at Dyess and watched the Bones take off. Even better was being on the flight line at night, though.

The B-1B is my favorite modern bomber. I hope to fly one when I join the air force, hopefully they won't retire them before!

When do you plan on joining?

Sometime when I'm either 18 or 21. Probably around 2020 or a little later.

Hmmmmmm . . . . . unfortunately I think it'll be gone by then. But things change. The B-52 is said to be around until 2040.

DONT JOIN THE MILITARY! Nothing more then politicians thugs forcing the will of corporate tyrants on complete strangers for political power. This country has become exactly NOT what the founding fathers had envisioned and exactly what they warned us about. It IS a tyrannical greedy empire. Dont fall for the propaganda. Our freedom (what little is left of it) is here Not in other countries.

    Amazing video John!!!
When I was growing up my father was the principal at Dyess Elementary and I saw some awesome things! Back now and wondering if there is a good place south of the base to watch takeoffs? I live by the mall and see (and hear) them all the time, but would love to take some pics. Thanks!

Great video, what day of the week and time of the day was this? Heading down there is a few weeks to visit the grandkids and would like to try and catch some late afternoon/early evening pics. I have no idea what their flight schedule is. Any information would be very welcome, thanks

Awesome video John! I'm planning to visit Dyess AFB in January and just wondering if you had any problems with the police when you did spotting there. Also is there many B-1 actions going on during weekdays? Hope to get some nice photos from there!

It is at a public park and playground so in reality they can't really kick you out. But they will approach you from time to time and question you and ask for your info and stuff. So just be sure to cooperate with them on that. They might even ask to search your vehicle as they can tend to get upset over people pointing cameras at the Air Force property, so just be honest with them and allow them to do so. That way they'll understand you're not hiding anything. As for the action, it's kinda hard to tell. You'll either see a few B-1s, one or two in a day, then several the next day, traffic pattern work, then nothing the next day. We just never know. It's kinda like a hit or miss. I stood there one time for four hours and only saw one B-1 takeoff.
