I had root canal work done and a crown fitted last year and my crown fell out the other day and went to dentist and he cemented it back in woke up the following day and I am in some severe pain and even more so if I bite down on crown,it's driving me crazy now....strong painkillers are not helping
Iam getting pain post dental crown for my upper front tooth. I didn't have any pain after it's root canal.I visited the dentist where I had my dental crown done and they took my upper front tooth x-ray again and concluded that my root canal is absolutely clear, there are no issues. Finally advised to wait for a week and come if the pain continues. Can you please tell me the cause for the pain in my upper front dental crown and suggest some remedies. It has been 4 days since my dental crown is put on ten days after my root canal for upper front tooth is done
I had a root canal months ago and i got a temporary crown placed with no issues. I then got my pregnant crown placed last week and it's been painful since. I was the dentist today and they adjusted a little. It still hurts. What could be the problem with the crown?
I have a permanent crown cemented with temporary cement because the doctor said I MIGHT need a root canal. When I got my permanent crown 2 days ago I felt no sensitivity to biting but I do feel sensitivity to cold. My question is will that sensitivity go away and if it does go away, will it come back again for a bit once I get it permanently cemented?
I am in the same boat .. my frontal tooth is having sensitivity now after getting permanent crowns in and it’s been a month and the sensitivity was gone about a month when I had a temporary crown on which was supposed to be two weeks but Cos of Covid-19 I had it in for a month... now I don’t know what to do with this sensitivity because I really don’t want a root canal 🤦🏾♀️
I had a crown done around 6 months ago. I constantly feel pain, and have gone to have it adjusted 3 different times. Got a second opinion 1 week ago, where I was scheduled to get a root canal but the dentist said I grind at night and to just get a night guard, this hasn't helped much. I got the guard but it hurts my jaws and my tooth really still hurts when I touch it with my tongue or touch the cap with my finger. If I chew on or floss that tooth it stinks really bad. At this point I'm just considering having the entire crowned tooth completely removed 🤦🏽♀️ what do you suggest? I've also had 2 different xrays from 2 different dentist.... The crown doesn't hurt with anything cold or warm.... Just more so a sharp pressure type of pain. I've even been placed on antibiotics and 8oo ibuprofen for some time.
@@Krissy-Amber I still have sensitivity to my crowns with cold but three dentist have said I don’t need a root canal . So I’m gonna need to see a new dentist and see what they say .
@@stasial266 best of luck. If you do need a root canal make sure a specialist does it Endodontist. Im learning the hard way. Also if you can still possibly have a sensitive tooth after root canal, that's been my experience
I had a root canal and a crown over that. I have been having a lot of pain after the permanent crown was put on. had it adjusted once already but still hurts pretty bad. it's been about 3 days since crown put on. is this normal?
graaar51 oh 😯 boy! Go back to your dentist and tell them what’s going on. As the doctor said, a simple adjustment might be all that’s needed. Good luck...
I had a crown put on after a root canal filling in my lower molar - now after 4 weeks the pain is getting worse. I can't even touch the crown as it feels like I'm getting an electric shock! I've had an x-ray and the Dentist said there's nothing wrong with the tooth. My Doctor thinks it's a gum infection and put me on antibiotics. How can it hurt to touch a crown that in effect is not a 'living' thing? HELP!
This happened to me. After 2 crown adjustments I ended up getting a re-treatment. But I'd suggest you get a 3D cat scan on the tooth to make sure all canals were cleaned out properly. Also look into nerve damage or pain specialist just in case its some sort of neuralgia.
@@Krissy-Amber Went to the Dentist this morning - he filed down the crown a bit so fingers crossed! How long after your adjustments did the pain subside?
I would also strongly advise against boxing for the first few days. At least have a few days to enjoy that tooth before going back to the Mike Tyson look.......
@@JMJMJ1 I know this was 2 years ago But did the pain ever get better ? I’m in the same situation with my temporary crowns right now and hoping I don’t need a root canal .
@@stasial266 My temporary hurt for the whole three weeks until I got the permanent in. 24 hours after the permanent went on, absolutely no pain whatsoever. The temps are just super thin and allow more sensitivity to the nerve and dentin.
Thanks I really need that my son crown was hurting and I didn’t know what to do until I saw this video

I just had my permanent placed yesterday 3/30/21 & it’s still “sore” & “uncomfortable” in that area too. It hurts. Did yours get any better?

I'm having a similar pain situation :'( .... how's your crowned tooth these days? Did the pain ever resolve?
Can you smoke after getting a porcelain crown?
You shouldn’t smoke at all, with or without a crown. It’s funny you’re worried about a crown but not your lungs
I have the sensitivity of cold, it's been 4 days now, is that ok?
try sensodyne toothpaste it always helps when one of my teeth are feeling sensitive
