Fire! Almost burnt my Willys Jeep CJ2a to the ground!

Scary! the wiring for my new fuel gauge arched and started a fire behind the dash, thankfully i put it out in time! Be careful, even with new wires and new parts when wiring up your classic car. With no fuses or relays you can be in for some real trouble. Thankfully my Willys Jeep CJ2a survived!

Be carefull,lot of China junk out there,nice flat fender,glad it wasnt worse,fused circuits with todays reproductions is a good idea for safety!Also a good quality mounted fire extenguisher would be some extra insurance while driving around would be good also!

Thanks! - yea great point, going to get a good fire extinguisher for sure! The new solex (reproduction) carb started weeping fuel as well, thankfully i caught that to. Definitely need to be careful with these reproduction parts. I ended rebuilding my original carter WO, so far so good!
