It makes my day to see these old Jeeps doing what they were designed to do especially when some of the drivers are young. Long live the old Willys and Ford military jeeps.
This is the true spirit of Jeeping. Leaf springs - still legit. That four door wrangler just isnt a real Jeep. No offense to the owner but its outclassed by the older rigs. It doesnt take 37 inch tires to get down most trails, just good driving. That old iron just keeps on rollin.
I've had a flatlander, 2 CJ-5's , 1 CJ-7, a 74 Bronco throughout 43 years of doing the Rubicon. I bought a 08 Jk and built it up. Sorry old boy but the JK is the best vehicle hands down. Although the 74 Bronco was close,it needed coils on the rear to make the articulation king like the JK!! And it doesn't take 7 to 10 tries to get through a small rock garden. The flatlander was first in a long line of awesome toys for playing in the the rocks!.
Bro there are not enough old ass jeeps to go around so what else are we gonna roll around with
Guarantee the jks won't be around with original equipment in 70 years!
Wanna se a real jeep search about Mahindra Thar on TH-cam, mahindra still has a liscense from Bantum and they were still making these type of off-roader in india
@@RevUpNation seen a couple of them around they’re pretty cool and go good, weirdly enough when I got my Willy’s CJ3 it has their engine in it 😂
Excellent wheeling! Great to see the old flatties showing the newer rigs how it's done and how small size can be an asset!
Love it..!!! They’re geared like a beast..!! Like mountain goats 🐐
This is amazing watching these old Jeeps doing what still so many modern 4 wheel drives couldn’t make it through today.
small, light weight, mechanical, reliable
Modern trucks drive this all the time 😂
@@flight2k5 stock or modified? That’s all I’m saying anyway. There are tons of modern 4 wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles that would not make it through this stock, but these antiques are doing it and I think it’s a testament to what made a Jeep a Jeep. That’s all I was getting at.
@@GravesoftheInnocent yea a cross over wouldn’t. But a 4wd will. This Willy’s is not stock. So there’s that. Please go visit the rubicon before I making statements like this
The agility of the older jeeps is remarkable.
the young man in the oliv willy is a cool and good driver, respect
One of the Greatest trailing videos..with the old rigs!.superb..
So nice to see the now 80 years old design working on a hard trail like the Rubicon. Purpose build, light weight - a masterpiece of engineering (congratulation American's) and ahead of all other vehicles of that size at that time.
But these are not stock
@@flight2k5 well bam bam isnt at least, but it still has an American engine
@@General_Eisenhower1945 huh? Who cares?
@@flight2k5 just adding on to the conversation
The GPW is a work of art.
love seeing the CJs & older out-doing the wranglers :)
O guey
@@zacariasarauzvargas7649 ué estás diciendo
But they don’t
@@flight2k5 that one did! And they can, given proper handling techniques
@@The_Temple well”that one” isn’t stock. You’ve obviously never driven on the rubicon. If you had you would see all kinds of stock modern vehicles driving it with little problem
so much more rewarding to me to see the oldies go up
Bam-Bam the man, machine, legend that teaches
goats how to climb rock walls!
Настоящий внедорожник👍👍👍
Jeep trails unbeatable. Great performances. Congratulation
That's my kind of 4 wheelin. This is what I needed to motivate me to get my CJ-5 up and running.
loved 14:50, the soup bowl attempt, LOL, i have taken my 87 IFS TOYOTA on 33s thru the soup bowl.
Awesome vehicles and drivers! Amazing capabilities on both!
Love classic jeeps ❤️
"Old is truly Gold" at the end of the day..
Amazing that an 80 year Jeep can outpace a modern 4x4 on an obstacle.
well done chaps. Australia
The flat fenders look more in their elements than the Wranglers. I have a 2 door JK with 35's, and even that would be almost too big. I used to have a Suzuki LJ 80 and it was so small, it would go anywhere. Lowest structure was the double box beam, so it was easy to teeter totter over logs and rocks. If I got stuck I would put it in gear, pull out the choke to get the revs up, get out and push.....then run like hell and jump in. Those were the days. Cheers.
did you need to do much adjustments on your carburetors for the elevation ?
This is so satisfying to watch
Real off-roading. No electronic buttons that help you do everything
But they have lockers 🤣
Their button was pneumatic, or maybe wire operated. 😂 But still, very cool vehicles.
All your comments are aimed at detracting from what these Jeeps do, you don't say anything good about them. You're either a Toyota fan boy or a professional Jeep baiter, nothing new.
Old is gold.
Watching those little things climb is fun. It's a lot more about tire placement and positioning here unlike the rigs with V8s, ton axles and 40's.
Awesome content and wheeling!!!
Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed the ride. (Chicodave)
Awesome God-bless everyone
They could still make these new with little updates. They would outperform most ATV's.
INDIA DOES IT,!
@@robertpotvin8872 Yes, Mahindra
Great vid. I love lil Bam Bam. What a soldier. Cheers.
As always, love the videos
I love those old cars and steel models.
What a beauty of off-road driving
Very cool sport. Congrats
Hello all, I love those old Willys crawling onto those type of route. May I ask what are the motors used and what transfer case are they using? Thank you!

😂 it would be "interesting" to watch "under" the cowl....
Jeptowitch' and Grampa's CJ2A have Go Devil engines with lockers
Reminds me of my Uncle's '41 MB that I got to drive through the Rubicon in 2001. Hope to take my '75 CJ-5 through someday.
What kind of lockers these jeeps are using for the front and rear axle ? Does anybody knows which is the best brand ?
Simple technology rules!!! make Cars relayable and easy to fix again!
Those Willy's looks like they're out for a Sunday drive
Now everyone thinks you need coils! Long live leaf springs!
Amazing what those old Willys and Ford GPW Flat Fender basic Jeeps can do. No big fat wheels and tyres. No electronic gizmos and air suspension and 360 degree cameras, no nothing.
Just plain good old fashioned common sense, patience, driving skill and technique….
Yeee mud-ox for the win!!!
I was stoked to see you attempting Soup Bowl 14:40. Has anyone ever climbed it in a stock-ish flatfender? Really enjoy your videos.
Very nice video, i have TJ 4.0, but like so much the super Willys !!! 👍
YEAH.. yes. DANG! And "WOW." Darned toot'n. OK.. had a WIlly's (on and on).. quite a long time ago. I didn't do competition and such - really
didn't have a lot of that back when I drove one. BUT.. oh.... what we did conquer. No quickie phone vids then..no UTUBE posts...no
organized competitions for GOLD MEDALS (or whatever). SO.. just launched to see this presentation. THANKS.. love it
I made the video even though I wasn’t there. “Stan goes left here.” …. Didn’t look as tough, but it is video.
Man I wish I was closer to you guys, I'd enjoy giving my jeep more than sand and flat Delaware fields
I felt that, you were not a participant Stan Ji
I like Willy jeep thanks so much
A1 the Willy's still running good dudes😀
Nice
I know the limitations of the original jeeps, No excess ground clearance, no big power under the hood at all, no selectable POSI to any axle and stock NDT tires highly questionable! With all those knocks in place you folks did a wonderful job of effectively using everything those little jeeps had to give. Its one thing to go over this stuff in a modified rock crawler its a whole different matter to do it in a stock Willys Jeep you guys did a fantastic job and should rightly be very proud!!!
Great video. Just wondering what type of springs are on MAD BRIT's jeep.

Beautiful
Amazing the difference adding lockers will do.
Thank's for a good video, like I say slow and steady will get you there. What mods have you done to your willys jeep. All the best from South Wales in the uk.
a few of these, like the ivory one with driver in red t-shirt, seem to have longer-than-stock rear springs
??
Bonjour c est la meilleure vidéo aventure que j ai vue
I spent a good part of my childhood riding around California in a red Willys shooting at things.
Willis jeep is very special.
JEEPで岩場走行に秀樹感激Goodです=3
jeep is the best
The only negative to this video, is the new 4 dr Wrangler, those i hate. they are too big, too heavy, run too big a tire and destroyed all my local trails. The light Wt. MBs are so amazing, love them.
awesome videos
are all the people in the video for the most part running stock drivetrains in these?
Cool Stuff !
if I ever have a chance to have another Millys Jeep I well name it "The Mach 5"
What is this strange ritual of driving over oddly shaped rocks at a snails pace?
Not one of these probably drove here. They were trailered by new jeeps or trucks. That JL drove to the trail. Did the trail, and got home. They also still have an ass attached to them. No way would any one of those jeeps out drive that rubicon. When you spent 2k on the old Willys, you don't care if you destroy it. Good ol momentum got you though it. I can do the same with any new SUV if I don't have to buy new parts :) I love the old jeeps, but let's not get to ahead of ourselves.
2k on an old Willys. Lol I wish.
ESPETACULAR!!!!
Marino Florianópolis
Open top and small weight vehicles are the way for this route, not air conditioning very heavy blind vehicles
Me acabo de suscribir al canal.
Me gustan mucho los Willys. El azul me encanta, que medida de ruedas lleva?
I don't know much about cars. What is making that subtle whistle when accelerating at 3:11?
I don’t hear it
Excelente
New is greater than Old one??? No way😊
Виллис был есть и будет.
Looks like some Willys have extra low gears ? axel or trasfercase?
There's so much left to do.
I can imagine the skin peeling sunburn.
Watching

Jeeepp!! Good Driver's 👽
Крутые парни
🤣🤣🤣 no expensive lift, no expensive tires & rims, no bullshit barbie mall crawler...just raw old school shit!!! Love seeing these out perform the new garbage. Yes, driver skill has alot to do with it, but it isn't everything.
Esse diferencial, de tras do jeep willys é diferente .do que veio pro Brasil.
WILLY'S, WILLY'S, WILLY'S...THE BETTER 44/50
Que berraquera hno ver esos willys a campo travieso muy bien aca en colombia tambien se hace aplausos muy vacano el video
.......
I wish I know you were going to be there. I would have loved to join you.
wow!
Jeepってホンマかっこええな~♪
You guys are do for a return trip
Why do you guys choose the most improbable lines most of the time?
Nice.. I have a 1953 cj3A and a 1973 ca5 apart for sale fore $10,000. All jeep part to go with sale.
What size tires do most of these Willys have on them
Mine are 7.50-16
They are advertised as 31.5 diameter but they are closer to 30”
Хорошо едут. молодцы интересно
Check out Epic Willys Adventure! Where a group of people take old Willys Jeeps just like this one across country.
