I was very fortunate to cover several of Shea Cotton's games while he was at Mater Dei and St. John's Bosco High School. Best high school basketball player I witnessed.
Brother I was rookie in Red Star when you came in Serbia and Partizan. I will never forget how high you were flying. After 2 years I was 46" vertical. Thanks for motivation...
Coming up playing AAU ball, we encountered Schea's team P.T.I. (Performance Training Institute) a couple times in regional tournaments and national tournaments. Our team was pretty good, had Jason Terry starting at point guard, but we knew just from watching Schea's team that we didn't want that smoke, lol.
By far the best high school baller ive ever seen. Went to what was the nike school back in the mid late 90's Dominguez High. Seen the likes of Paul Pierce, Tommy and Tayshaun Prince play, the collins brothers those were the best years of H.S basketball. California alone was loaded with talent between 92-99. The greates quarter ive ever seen in hs was P.Pierce score i think was like 24-25 points against Dominguez at Compton college. But still cant compare watching Schea ball. The best hs player of all time.
I went to the D. I remember they wore K-Swiss until 95. Kenny Bruner was a freshman my senior year. His sophomore year is when Tay, Willie, & Jason Thomas came. That 95 squad was nice! Tommie's senior year
@@JayJay-wz8qd man thats what's up. I was a freshman with Kenny. I left him out even though he was the best PG on the state along side Baron Davis. Honestly that was probably the best squad my whole time there. I have nothing but great memories of those bball days at the D. My 4 years there we balled in bball and football. Wish Jason Thomas would come out with his own Documentary cause he was the real deal too. Stay up Don fam.

I saw Shea Cotton play at Mater Dei and one of the best games was Mater Dei against Lincoln High outa New York that featured another great high schooler, Stephon Marbury. Lincoln had a good front court player along with Marbury but Mater Dei had more talent plus the great Shea Cotton. Marbury put on a show hitting from deep and making pin point passes into the lane for layups and dunks but Mater Dei and Shea were just too good and they won the tournament. I thought Marbury was spectacular and special but Shea was just as spectacular. They were 2 of the best high school players I've ever seen and I've seen some great high school players over the years.
I really want to see what happen with all this, I was blackballed and all that. Man the last I talked to him was when he played Elac when he was attending LBCC.

Use basketball don't let basketball use you....Schea Cotton is a far much better person than he was a basketball player- respect!
