I totally agree. We had a foot of snow at our home 2 days after we left. It was fun to see it on the cameras and to be honest we almost turned around to play in it… but quickly decided that would be crazy. Hopefully it will warm up for you soon. Thanks for being with us.
We there’s a beware of Alligators sign at your campsite it does make me feel uneasy, not a place we can leave Maggie for even a minute. It was very boogery.
Just run around the parking lot until your Apple Watch says you burned enough calories to eat another strawberry shortcake! I’ll see you on the next lap. 😉 Spoonbills are sure fun to watch. Looks like fun in the sun. Showers here today. During shortcake season I just add a little sugar to my drop biscuits and chop some strawberries up, add a little sugar and put on top. A little yogurt and good to go. We grow strawberries in our greenhouse that are just starting to bear fruit and in raised beds that have strawberries all summer until frost and back to greenhouse berries in November. The outside strawberries under the hoops are flowering now. Only one dessert I like better is tree ripe peach shortcake probably because that happens right at Labor day, here for about a month....James

I have a serious case of homesickness right now. You're just 2 hours north of home for me. I miss those swampy places where the wild life out numbers people 10 to 1. If you're headed south like to Naples, stop in at Manatee Park, just 2 miles East off exit 142. The water isn't clear blue like the springs are you you'll see so many Manatee's in the park and they do have kayak and canoe rentals where you can paddle the orange river. It's a pretty awesome paddle up and back on the river. Spent many a hot summer day paddling the river or doing riding trails through Buckingham rural area. There is a camp ground on the Caloosahatchee River at the Locks Park. It's kind of primitive but they do have or did have nice facilities and you can walk out on the Locks to watch the boats go through them. Just an idea if you're out of places to camp for the night.
We did that last year and loved it. Myakka seems to be the best place for wildlife above the Everglades. The variety and quantity are just astounding. Sorry it made you homesick but that’s a good place to be homesick of for sure. Thanks for the love and suggestions.

You might want to check and see if they sell a floor for your clam.....they have one for the 6 sided clam and it fits in the same bag as the clam tent does so doesn't take up any additional room in your van. We travel in a class B also and love having the clam...especially with the floor.

That strawberry shortcake looked good I haven’t had one in a long time. What also looked good was Owens meal he cooked up on the solo. I love when he dies the Happy Dance. Added two options to Amazon store. The color we have is not available but green is and it has side panels. Also another company has one that gets good reviews. We agree we would need 3 big rooms in April at that spot. 😂👍

Myaka is the best for wildlife aside from the wild pigs great place to hike. The gators are everywhere, the big ones seem to be by the dam, great video as always.

So jealous been trying to get into Myakka for a while now. Finally had a reservation and then had to cancelled because we bought a bigger rig and no longer fit. Maybe someday!
So sorry. Keep trying. We found a one-night spot and a 2-night spot just a few days before deciding to go there. Doesn’t mean it will always happen but we were prepared to use Cracker Barrel and Harvest Hosts if it didn’t. We were lucky!

No we didn’t. We don’t do that for National Parks either. We tried a few times and once you go to one but forget to get it stamped it turns into a stress thing for us. We just check it off on our list, rate it to see if we want to go back and head to the next place. But we’re pretty digital only folks these days in the van. Wish we could make ourselves do it though.
@@joycemoses2411 Unfortunately, no. It does not provide a discount for camping. It does get you into parks for free for the year, but if you’re camping your entry fee is included. So for us it would only save money on those times we want to see multiple parks in one day… that’s happened but not enough to be a good deal.
We thought about it years ago but since it cannot be used to reduce the cost of camping and since our entry into the park is included in the camping fee it never made sense. Unless we’re staying at one park and going to others like a few episodes ago.
I know… and I think Lynn knows they’re harmless too. But last year about 10pm we were sitting in the room and one literally ran across Lynn’s foot. It was one of those check your underwear moments for not just her but everyone within ear shot of our site too.

It’s sad when dogs start wearing down. Do you have any idea how old she was when she walked into your lives? Our new -pup is 5-6 so we hopefully have a while before she starts slowing down. Heck! I’m 76 in my husband‘s 81. We’re slowing down so we needed a dog who would slow down with us!
We’re slowing down at our age… but dogs seem to go, go, go until they slow down fast. Maggie’s just at the threshold now. Hikes that she used to be ready to hop in and go again after 5 miles now she’s dragging after 2-3. She’s still in good shape for her age but it’s sad for us. I hope your hubby is in great shape… I know if Lynn were 5 years younger than me I’d never be able to keep up with her. Thanks for being with us all the time.

Definitely not first-come-first-serve. In fact every Florida State park we’ve stayed in no longer does reservations at the ranger station. All online. It is hard to get a reservation for sure but if you try multiple times each day for multiple days then you should find something. Maybe not at the most popular parks but most have cancellations and you can snag those. Otherwise you have to book 11 months to the day ahead of time and even then it’s tricky.
Thanks for the tips! Used your previous tip when I found a gap in my reservations lat year. Was only a rainy night in Hillsborough, but would definitely plan it again.
Tim that might be the funniest comment I’ve ever read here! I’ll remember that next time. I’ve always told her I don’t get full when we split things. But as we get older I’m learning that most times that makes sense for us… just not when it comes to dessert for breakfast…. gotta draw the line. Fantastic wildlife photography in this episode. We were there 3 years ago and mostly just saw alligators and vultures.

Tried getting reservations 3rd year I've tried, last month they said it was first come first served.??
Definitely not first-come-first-serve. In fact every Florida State park we’ve stayed in no longer does reservations at the ranger station. All online. It is hard to get a reservation for sure but if you try multiple times each day for multiple days then you should find something. Maybe not at the most popular parks but most have cancellations and you can snag those. Otherwise you have to book 11 months to the day ahead of time and even then it’s tricky.

Tim that might be the funniest comment I’ve ever read here! I’ll remember that next time. I’ve always told her I don’t get full when we split things. But as we get older I’m learning that most times that makes sense for us… just not when it comes to dessert for breakfast…. gotta draw the line. And… she finished hers too so I would have had to stand in line again. Thanks for the grin and for being with us.
