I spent so many nights playing with my friend in cooperative multiplayer against AI in this game. DoW1 truly is iconic, there's a reason why its voice lines are still remembered so fondly after all these years. Remaster .. never, probably. A new Dawn of War in the current setting would be a massive delight. Perhaps even a fantastic chance to fluff out the Leagues of Votann too.
I am glad to have stirred up some good memories of the game :) It is a classic, no doubt. Leagues of Votann would be most welcome in a new game. Indeed so many things have happened since this was released, it would be interesting to see what a new Dawn of War would look like!
As someone who lived their childhood in asia, i was introduced to wh40k setting through this game! So nostalgic! After moving to Europe, i finally got the chance to start collecting minis (there was no GW store where i lived). DoW will always be my favourite childhood game :)

I still need to try out Dawn of War 2 & 3. 😅 I am waiting for Tempest Rising that is supposed to release within the year but as of now, the release date is still TBA on Steam. It is designed to be a spiritual successor of Command and Conquer particularly Tiberian Sun/Tiberium Wars.
It is a classic game! Dawn of War 2 was a lot of fun but quite the change from the first. Not played the third one, sadly. I think it got a bit of a bad rep. I might have to check it out on the steam sale! There is a free demo for Tempest Rising, by the look of it. I will have to give it a go!
I am sorry it wasn't what you were expecting. My videos are mostly reviewing games and giving my thoughts on whether its worth checking out rather than perhaps more freeform thoughts and opinions on its impact on the gaming landscape or what have you.
