Kevin Hogan, original developer of Covert Hypnosis has found that between 2 and 3 dozen hypnotic language patterns are effective at reducing reactance and resistance and directing the mind toward agreement. www.kevinhogan.com/ You can use all 7 beginning today across a broad spectrum of contexts. In this video, Kevin says the middle three are his personal favorites.

    Brilliant! These tactics work beautifully with my very independent 10 year old son! He’s so much more receptive when I approach him in this way as opposed to trying to control him through covert emotional strategies, like guilt trips, disappointment, silence. He refuses to be controlled through maladaptive toxic manipulative tactics! Thank God!!

    Waking up is difficult but by removing the blocks people can be awakened and begin to think. When I would call a client I always asked if I had caught them at a bad time. Their first reaction to any interruption was to say, "No!" I just gave the. The ability to say it! lol

    "What helps you to know whether you should x or y?" could backfire. You're hoping that the person will choose to defend a decision to buy x, but they could dig in their heels and choose to defend a decision to buy y instead, and then you're selling them on what you don't want them to do instead of what you do want them to do. If you're going to use this language pattern, use it when both x and y are choices that you're offering.

I don't know if you should decide now or not ( take the decision right now ) .. gonna try those

      Literal translation into any other language does not produce the same results. This was the problem with the original hypnotic language patterns developed in NLP/Hypnosis. The concepts and ideas of the pattern DO translate about 95% of the time! Great question.

    • @KevinHoganChannel
      @KevinHoganChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "Cancellation" i very simple. Typically it is gone naturally in 24 hours unless repeated and a behavior triggered. In suggestible's you can take the trigger and reassociate to another behavior by doing the behavior and while focusing on the cue. Takes about 30 minutes maximum. Maybe as quick as 2 - 4 minutes.

I was also taught to do come up under hypnosis when ever someone is taking off a bandage.. . so I will try to re associate it with something else :) Thank you for your help! God bless!

    Sooo... hypnosis is just the ability to manipulate?

    • @KevinHoganChannel
      @KevinHoganChannel  8 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Justin, this is a really fair and straightforward question. Almost 100% of my work is literally to get people do what they would never do and could never do on their own. Lose weight. Break free from hamster wheels. And yes, you bet that my job is to get inside of people's heads and "push buttons." With my kids, same thing. And both of my kids are years ahead of the curve in their doctoral and bachelors programs. So, yes, I guess a big aspect of the effective use of hypnotic language (and similar) is to cause and create changes that are BIG in people that they would normally not do. But (I hope this is obvious) to have the opposite intention, to cause people to screw up or do worse in life, or create bad situations for others... I mean, I don't really need to have that conversation do I? Or perhaps I do. You let ME know OK? KH

      Good communication is listening with empathy, understanding what the other person feels, needs, wants, cares about. Then we let that person know that we understand and can feel their world. It's this safe place that allows people to then have a dialogue.

      P Watson There are probably a couple of dozen that are pretty consistently useful when utilized in a real life, plausible fashion. A lot of "hypnotic language" is more about you or me than the exact words. It's about our intention, our tone of voice, how much we care, our desired end result and how that all triggers (or not) reactance and resistance.

      The foundation of hypnotic language is to facilitate positive change in an individual or relationship. The second is to bypass the reactance or resistance that has been biologically and culturally wired into that person's mind. There are many methods to get past these walls that limit life experience for the individual. Hypnotic language often but by no means offers what that person might feel to be intuitive should they react negatively, thus causing the positive reaction. In part you are right on target. Yes or just weak suggestions or implanting. If you know you're encountering resistance you can try this approach, but otherwise a more direct suggestion may work the best. Hypnosis is a conviction phenomena. First we convince the subject that he or she can do because hypnosis is powerful. Then we give them secondary suggestions. They want something powerful to overcome a problem they couldn't solve by themselves.
