Sl6 was the best tarmac in my opinion. Light slightly aero, maintainable at home. Less weight penalty.

Absolutely Love GC's videos well done! Understood this review was done 2 yrs ago.... But having owned Sworks SL6 and the Venge, and just recently found a 2nd hand SL7... I must say, the SL7 has the best combo of both SL6 & Venge. In terms of SL6 vs SL7. the major difference I found is the stiffness. SL7 is much stiffer. if you are looking for comfort, stick with your SL6.. but if you like to throw in a couple of hard-effort sprinting etc. SL7 will put a smile on your face. Now SL7 vs Venge? Venge is still must fastest ride on the flat... Strava PR don't lie lol... But if you going to be doing a 150km+ ride with 1000m+ elevation .... you wish you had brought your SL6 with you. The SL7 engineers have done a fantastic job! It is a One-Bike-Rule them all in terms of stiffness vs comfort (did they mention more Aero?). Please don't take my word for it, best to organise a 100km demo day ride with your local bike Specialized dealer.

@@Slowjo1221 I have the 6 Pro (rim brakes). I don't see the point of upgrading to the 7... Unless you want the "cleaner" front end look of the 7, then get the 7. The nonsense that Specialized advertises, "4X seconds over XX KM"... That's just garbage. The average cyclist won't even notice the "aero drag" of the sl6 vs sl7.... Let alone a sl3 to sl5. Marginal gains, it's all mental. Your body (motor) is what differentiate between current bike and any older bikes.

@@GCPerformance18 I just sold my SL6 Expert... only to buy an SL6 S-Works frame and build a custom road machine. Goal is to log 10K miles on it, then see what's out there. Figure 4 years down the road, maybe sooner. The SL7 is sexy... but geo is everything. Personally not a fan of the meshing between the Venge and Tarmac... would have rather seen the Venge line continue on, and maybe just some cockpit updates with the SL6 geo. But that's just me..

The difference between Some of subtle aero lines are SIGNIFICANT, especially the front end, the forks, the head angle, it makes it seem like the bikes are separated by years. Having cables shown versus having cables disappear, Priceless! Again, looks like they’re separated by years

You do wonder when you account for the new wheels and aero cockpit how much the aero differences would close up. If you ran the rim brake SL6 with a tririg front brake and the aeroflys I think weight and aero might favour the SL6. Shame the Pro doesn't have the same Sworks frame like the venge. Would also be good as the pro is possibly the most popular version for club racers to make sure there is a neutral colour version. Great to see some creative colouring but hard to match team kits.

SL6 was the best Tarmac and Vias was the best Venge. Since then they've gradually been merging the two and ended up with a bike that isn't the best in any category. As a heavier rider I don't care much about the weight and the Vias to me is the best looking frame, the fastest aerodynamically and has the cleanest cable routing. The SL7 loses a lot of the aero look of the Venge, the clamped under the handlebars cable is a hack and there is too much plastic in the stem and bars - those tacked on triangles particularly just ruin the look. There is also enough clearance to mount motor-bike tires and it just looks odd for what is supposed to be a sleek road bike.

WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK OF HIS STAGE PERFORMANCE TODAY????? seems like you could fit a bus in between the gap when he went for the stage win on stage 4 lmao

Sagan needs a stronger lead out train to bring him to the front. Because of not having a strong lead out, he's always 8th to 10th wheel... By the time he makes his move, he's already toast..
I want to say, Ewan is the best sprinter. He always out sprinted Sagan and the other heavy hitters for the last couple years. Now, only if he was riding for Specialized... That would be something to witness

Also, rim brakes are not dead! Today, Jumbo won with rim brakes! Ineos is still rocking rim brakes. So that should tell you something!

HUGEEEEE fan but he got worked today, he was on the wheel and when he started his sprint he had like a 4 rider gap in between him, i dont think his team is gonna do anything for him but still no excuse because the jumbo rider didnt have anyone to help him and he dominated, sagan might be slowing down lol

@@cpcxgsr bro thats aweosme to see rim brakes winning and also on the pinerellos, I dont know how thats gonna twist but what if all the bikies that win from here on out are rims brakes and makes the industry push out more rim brake models lol that would be awesome, I live in florida so it would make my job more easier then having to bleed brakes lmao

@@GCPerformance18 I agree. Sagan days of being the "best sprinter" seems numbered. He has a lot of mileage on him and seemed worn out. He will still be a legend of pro cycling. But for him to be the best in this year's TdF, ehh... Only if the sl7 will give him super powers, then he would be winning every sprint stage.

@@GCPerformance18 I'm a specialized fanboy. I've been riding Spesh road bikes for decades. Honestly, I do not believe in Specialized's marketing hype. Do I like their products? Absolutely. Do I believe I will be the "fastest" rider from my weekend group ride (while on the newest Tarmac/sl7), absolutely not. As a rider, you're the motor that makes you as fast/strong as you can be... Unless I'm on a levo, I can only be as strong of a rider that my body allows me to be. Bike is a bike at the end of the day.

@@GCPerformance18 I possess both brands, but I've never achieved a podium finish with Shimano, and it tends to experience more frequent breakdowns when compared to SRAM. Let me clarify, Shimano is decent, but it doesn't match up to the quality of SRAM, which is why it is priced lower.
