We need SELF-DETERMINATION and a seat at the United Nations! Once positioned in lands as refugees, the international community is then compelled to support with aide. But we don’t need “aide”-we have legal claim of reparations due to us; we have skilled and trained professionals; we have access to resources. We have money. What we lack is political structure and LAND. To secure this under someone else’s political structure and lands DEFEATS the purpose of our aims towards long awaited goal of SELF GOVERNANCE and SELF DETERMINATION! We don’t need war with Africans, and that’s EXACTLY what would happen by making our repatriation, restitution, and reparation tied to some other peoples’ system and land!! We need our OWN!!!

To hear black americans are being picked off one by one is sickening If the Gambians were being picked off one by one in America Gambians would not want to hear such talk
The other side may also say” Mission Accomplished” because we don’t have to do anything against them but they’ll keep themselves from advancing as it was our plan for them. Hmmm 🤔 😢we already have an enemy and now we are our own enemies, it’s a double jeopardy.
that’s not true that’s only certain places and it’s only because we truly different race of people. We have brothers and sister we do share the same DNA with on the continent and there some we don’t share the same DNA with
Some of these points brought out are true. These things happen in many poor countries. Expatriates are targeted for different reasons, but the main reason is for money. I considered Africa as a retirement option but after hearing the difficulties that some expats experience I decided it’s best to go back to Jamaica, my birth country. I have Jamaican friends in The Gambia and would like to visit some day, God willing. I am praying that we can live peacefully as a people no matter which country we are in.
You also have to take into consideration that Africa has over 50 countries. Gambia 🇬🇲 is different than Zambia and Zambia 🇿🇲 is different than Namibia 🇳🇦 The poor have always targeted those with money. People who are looking to move abroad need to build relationships with others seeking to do so. That way strong bonds are built. It's easier to pick couples off or single retirees off because they don't have a group behind them. The idea of doing things by oneself needs to stop and this is proof of that. Unity is key 🔑
She is 100% on point with this topic!! Skin Folks don't make Kin Folks!! We are Black Americans who identify more with white Cultural practices than African. We must become our own Tribe.
@@BlackOwnedSoulSistah well thats on you. i have possitive and negative experiences from black people who were born here and ones who come from abroad. but the problems from the ones here usually end in bloodshed so. we dont even like ourselves over here we will rather shoot each other than talk about it. so you be indian and let me know how it goes
She should know that it's not a good idea to isolate and be an all African American Community, no; instead the African Americans need to mingle, mix and live in the village amongst the Chiefs and villagers
@romandadavis6302 Why? They are building their own communities, eventually they will have their own country. Mixing with Africans benefits them how? They need to mix with their own like any other ethnic group that comes there
Exactly, creating your own community in a land that's not your tribal land will bring suspicion and hostility. The best way is to marry and mingle with the tribe you will live with.
These people are messed-up why are they so jealous of their own cousins that they sold their own flesh in the first place its sickening. These people are helping to build Gambia and helping the economy. These people need to have love in them. The diasporas from the uk, the USA and the Caribbean are really helping the Gambians while the Gambians should be doing the same if they are not helping the diasporas. We are all one people, when you come to Europe, America and the other white countries, they don't see tribe in you; they see you as black and they treat you as how they would treat blacks. So why your own cousins who come back home to you some of you treating them bad. Continue to treat your diasporas with true love. True love and true friendship is worth more than money. We are living in a new area. Show love to your blood relatives who have come back home to you. They are building Gambia for your sons and daughters for tomorrow. Peace and love ❤️
As an American Black Man I totally understand! 100%! I have a question why doesn't Africa do that with White People? All of The Precious Resources that are in Africa the European has been there for Hundreds of Years & why didn't they have that Mindset towards them and not The Black American? I wanted to come to Africa and The African Diaspora News Channel with Philip Scott has opened my Eyes about Africa! And everything is positive! Most Black Americans are going to Asia and not even thinking about Africa! So Evan could you ask that question with a Video " Why don't Africans mistreat Whites The same way as Black Americans"? I see Black Americans are Welcomed in all parts of Asia, Columbia, Brazil, & Other Places on The Globe! I don't want to live in America anymore and if I'm not welcome Which I had nothing to do with What Happened in The Past, then I won't Come!!
Stop overthinking bro, you're welcomed home, find your niche & do it best. Africans went through colonization just like African Americans have gone through centuries of racial injustices..We are only healing from colonial vestiges & some of our not so educated or the unexposed still view white folks as superior. But that need not drive you nuts, just focus on your thing..I saw the same phenomenon with African Americans especially at work place, they'd quickly report me to the white Mzungu bosses but I understood our folks still got issues wherever in the world you find them. So this inferiority complex disorder is not only limited to Africans..I see African American celebraties dropping their "before success" black girlfriends to marry white women right "after success"....It is an illness afflicting the weak ones in the African world. Oppressed people allover the world got this problem...I also found white Irish people to have the same type of sentiments towards the English who colonized Ireland back in history..
@timothybrigjt7064 have you looked into some of the Caribbean islands i.e St. Lucia, Dominica, Antigua, Barbados the list is endless. Dominica where my mum comes from is beautiful and screaming for people like you. There are a few white Americans, Arabs and Europeans buying plots in Dominica and building businesses and laying down their roots. However, it would be nice to see more black Americans seizing the opportunity.
I hear this wonderful young lady, but this happens everywhere! I have lived in multiple states and born and raised in New Orleans. What she is saying about targeting the tourist or foreigners is what scares people from visiting my hometown. Because wise and respectful to others and their cultures because territorial thinking and living all over the world.
This sister makes a very important argument. Black Americans know very little to nothing regarding Tribal Systems of government. Tribal systems are still practiced throughout Africa because it is a cultural heritage. Whenever you relocate to a community, it would be wise to learn the culture and try to assimilate yourself. Don’t think your Western knowledge and values are the only way of living.
Gambia is one of the smallest countries in West Africa..There are good & bad people everywhere. Some Ghanaians suffered during Prez Yahaya Jammeh's regime, but that doesn't mean Gambians hate black Americans
Thank you for sharing the video from your perspective. She made some very valid points. I differ in some of your opinions. 1. When Black Americans are being robbed in Gambia I HIGHLY doubt that the perpetrators are other Black Americans. Remember we already have access to money. We are adding to your countries not taking. In that way Black Americans are a plus to your economy. 2. It is not universal to have to grease someone's palms for every little thing. I find many Africans think that way. It's part of the culture in many African countries. 3. In the USA most of the times its normal to do certain things for free. My neighbor needs help. We don't charge money. If a friend needs a ride. We don't charge money. We are not expected to be paid. In fact, it's very offensive to charge someone who needs help. If the person you have helped INSISTS on paying cash for you good deed, then you can take it. Otherwise, accept a heartfelt thank you as your payment.
As an African from Angola living in Europe for more than 2 decades, when i go home i´m treated the same. The Brother is right., Africans are not targeting African Americans but, easier target, those unaware, and those who seem to have more money...
Kenyan American .... not just American, which means fellowshipping with Kenyans also ... neighbors, co workers, friends ... what's wrong with that ... ?
They do this to Africans also, in a large scale... To AA do not isolate yourself from the African communities try and be part of the larger tribe... There is protection
She's ain't talking about Ghana. Ghana simply is the land of THE TRUE FREE . GHANA INDEED IS THE GATE TO AFRICA, THE MOST HOSPITABLE PEOPLE ON EARTH, where every foreigner feels the sense of belonging.

This sentiment is exactly why other nations can come into Jamaica and own all the ports and ban locals from access to beaches and deny them jobs. We are not all the same. Unfortunately Jamaica still hasn’t gotten the memo. You as a Jamaican can’t go to China and own land. Learn to read those people you allow in your space. They aren’t going around saying that they are one with you. They operate on an agenda! Even when it comes to marriage. Their numbers are declining. Ours aren’t! Yet we think that they marry out of love…🤦🏾♀️
@OConnorOkonnor yes we understand u was born there,so y is the African government or presidents inviting black people who's fore parents was sold into slavery by ur fore parents, now telling them africa is for those who was born there,Africans travels to other people's countries all over the world, what if they didn't allow them there, they go to seek a better life, the diasporians who comes, come with their savings,it's a big boost for foreign exchange in one's country,by the way I see ur heart not really kind
Agree that Africans (the majority) are welcoming to foreigners(including Black Americans) . That said, not all Black Americans should be welcomed, some are enemies .
Very interesting. Being Black does not make one an African or a Gambian. The narration shed light on typical American attitudes - All countries with black skin found in different continent are not a place of privileges and domination of Black Americans. So far, watching African podcasts it appears as warm hearted countries. Africa is deeply rooted to their culture and with their ancestorial linkage. We need to respect them not to lecture them what is good or bad for them. And...bad, crooked, and criminals are found in every countries.
Yes, but they're still plugged into Matrix this is how they got colonize. You can be part of a tribe but you have to evolve or you will be destroyed or colonized again. Other countries want Africa resources if we don't come together, people of African descent we won't get any respect worldwide. Because, our economic power base is $40 trillion dollars.
Interesting take away... My take away was... Being Black doesn't make every African our brother or sister... however, being Black does make us African. Criminals may be everywhere, but they do not operate with impunity everywhere...
Criminality and crooked ways are bad no matter where or who and it should be addressed, culture or ur ancestral ways don't have anything to do with a person who's a theif, everyone would love to have neighbors who's honest, and kind, children live what they learn,we have to be careful

Criminals are everywhere so this will not deter me from going to the land of my ancestors. Africa is our homeland as people of African descent that identifies as Africans
Hello. I wanted to visit the Gambia, but, sadly, I have changed my mind. I understand the tribalism thing, as my family is Gullah, Geechee out of South Carolina, USA. Yes we are Geechee people. 😂😂
It’s her experience and her truth…why dispute it unless you go where she is and witness it yourself. However, there are others (AA) there who may not be victims of what she’s saying. My question (?) Are these same people who are confronting AA attacking the Chinese, the whites or the Lebanese probably not. Those people purchase/developer more land in Africa period than most AA’s who are there. They’re not being attacked even when they mistreat our brothers & sisters, band them from living or eating in their establishments. Some of us say nothing (I’ve been in parts of Africa several times, seen it) to the discrimination but you confront the AA? We’re not the enemy. We are the same people just different cultures. Some of my sisters are heavily invested there, so feel they have to stay there.. it’s sad cuz we have NOwhere that we can go to and be truly at ‘home’…

Young lady you need to face the fact, this happens in every country. When Caribbean people came to the United States they were subjected to all sorts of discrimination and even being murdered. So the same concerns and or conditions she spoke about were being instituted against Caribbean people by black Americans and we are talking about black Caribbean people being targeted
I live in Gambia. I've lived in America all my life. America has alot of problems. We are not loved there either. Mass incarceration, police violence racism discrimination. And don't forget 400 years of slavery. And modern day slavery in America and every country where there is black and brown people. I am thankful for The B.A.G. family they are my friends and I have friends from UK. US, and many African countries. Have I been scammed yes. But I cannot group all Gambians together. I love Gambia and I admire alot of Gambians. Especially the children. I want to add my little bit to bring change to Gambia. My prayer is that Gambia becomes exporters and not importers. I'm routing for all of Africa. African Americans are the only people who don't have a home land. I choose to call Gambia my home. I'm at peace here. One Love❤
This is so sad what some of the Gambian people are doing to the black Americans The Gambians don't realise what their actions against innocent African Americans can cause Gambians Example. If African Americans return back to America because some of the Gambians made them feel uncomfortable in Gambia After returning back to America, they tell their loved ones, their government, they go on radio and television talk shows, and their church members of what the Gambians did to them. Immediately, African Americans become angry with the Gambians and begin to treat the Gambians in America the same way Africans Americans are treated in the Gambian, and the Gambians in America feel so uncomfortable in America they return home to Gambia. Things can really get out of control between black americans and Gambians We don't need to be fighting each other No Gambians in America that I have heard of complaining of being robbed by a black american This must stop immediately. If the Gambians don't want African Americans getting free land Don't get angry with African Americans Get angry with your Chiefs or government that's giving away free land to African Americans Whosoever is attaching African Americans in the Gambian please stop before there is retaliation from African Americans in America on innocent Gambians Lastly,it seems like it's going to take slavery in Africa to bring black people together The world 🌎 care nothing about black people
Thank you for your points you are raising. I’m sure most Gambians don’t view the Black Americans in a negative way but the fact that there is a group who is doing these offenses is disturbing, more so the unaliving than the robbing. I think the robbing goes across the board. When you have a small percentage of people in a place and the majority of that small percentage is getting picked off it is very alarming.
I actually agree with her and this is truth..Ive seen this 1st hand and honestly Ive lived in the US all my life and things like fluctuating prices and devalued currency OR having to pay bribes and extra to survive I dont wanna deal with it. What about the black on black crime in the usa . I am a nigerian living in germany for a long time and whenever i go home to nigeria i sometimes feel like a foreigner so dont make it personal .
When you to go Afrikan countries and act like the other Americans, what do you expect? If you go anywhere in the world and you don't interact with the local people , but only when you wanna buy land , you will certainly face the same resentments, so Afrika is no exception. Those who travelled to the continent and left their Americaness behind , do not face this type of issue. Some are even trying the local cuisines as well as learning how to speak the local language. It is worth pointing out that, some who put out information like this are plants. Not everyone in the US is happy with the current trend of our US brothers and sisters wanting to travel to Afrika, so to put a stop it, people like her are used to push very negative narratives about Afrikan countries.
Oh and one more thing we need to stop airing our laundry out on the internet if you have a problem with somebody from the diaspora you need to sit down and talk about it. If the government is guilty of doing these things then they need to be held accountable
I'm not sure about this as I am in gambia now, and the gambian people do lobe and admire returnees like jamacian, for example. I haven't seen sight of any hatred, and I brought land in gambia, and Americans are buying too.
Ghana was not the 1st country to open up for Black Americans to go stay. Black Americans have been moving all over Africa for years! Especially Jamaicans migrating to Ethiopia because of Selassie.

@Roseforres
BLACK AMERICANS are not ex anything. Why doesn't this happen to the Asians and Lebanese and Europeans who come there?
You also have to take into consideration that Africa has over 50 countries. Gambia 🇬🇲 is different than Zambia and Zambia 🇿🇲 is different than Namibia 🇳🇦
The poor have always targeted those with money. People who are looking to move abroad need to build relationships with others seeking to do so. That way strong bonds are built.
It's easier to pick couples off or single retirees off because they don't have a group behind them.
The idea of doing things by oneself needs to stop and this is proof of that. Unity is key 🔑

Why? They are building their own communities, eventually they will have their own country. Mixing with Africans benefits them how? They need to mix with their own like any other ethnic group that comes there
I dont even get the point of doing that's if so then it's disgusting 😑
Exactly, creating your own community in a land that's not your tribal land will bring suspicion and hostility. The best way is to marry and mingle with the tribe you will live with.

Not true, black folks in America don't kiss up to white folks.
So-called Black Americans aren't the same people as Africans.

After my dad’s experience with Africa, I can’t trust it. He was called a white N word during his entire trip because we’re light skinned.
You are so right, my sister. I have been there and know about everything that you speak of.
Gambia is one of the smallest countries in West Africa..There are good & bad people everywhere. Some Ghanaians suffered during Prez Yahaya Jammeh's regime, but that doesn't mean Gambians hate black Americans
It makes sense, black Americans should help them first
Thank you for sharing the video from your perspective.

I'm routing for all of Africa. African Americans are the only people who don't have a home land. I choose to call Gambia my home. I'm at peace here. One Love❤
Hmmm. But it is happening there, even to Ghanaian diasporans.
This is so sad what some of the Gambian people are doing to the black Americans
The Gambians don't realise what their actions against innocent African Americans can cause Gambians
Example. If African Americans return back to America because some of the Gambians made them feel uncomfortable in Gambia
After returning back to America, they tell their loved ones, their government, they go on radio and television talk shows, and their church members of what the Gambians did to them. Immediately, African Americans become angry with the Gambians and begin to treat the Gambians in America the same way Africans Americans are treated in the Gambian, and the Gambians in America feel so uncomfortable in America they return home to Gambia.
Things can really get out of control between black americans and Gambians
We don't need to be fighting each other
No Gambians in America that I have heard of complaining of being robbed by a black american
This must stop immediately.
If the Gambians don't want African Americans getting free land
Don't get angry with African Americans
Get angry with your Chiefs or government that's giving away free land to African Americans
Whosoever is attaching African Americans in the Gambian please stop before there is retaliation from African Americans in America on innocent Gambians
Lastly,it seems like it's going to take slavery in Africa to bring black people together
The world 🌎 care nothing about black people
Thank you for your points you are raising.
Come as a group to approach the Kings or chiefs to get land officially, so that any problems may rise chiefs or kings can solve the problem. Even
