20FPS and 150W difference. That doesn't sound like an efficient buy to me. If I loaded my RTX 3080 in the bios with higher consumption and overclocked, then the performance would probably not make such a difference. Anyway, I hope that such an RTX 4070 will become the new 3090 / Ti
the 4080 is up 50% faster than the 3080 , the 3080 was 70% faster than the 2080 and did not cost 71% more money the 4080 is piss poor value and not worth it for the performance
So very interesting how when some games are run at 1080p are heavy on CPU and then when you switch to 4K the CPU usage drops significantly, I have never noticed that before and wonder why is it !?
With every frame your graphics card outputs the CPU has to give its own flavor to it. So if you lower your resolution and other aspects of GPU heavy effects, then it depends more and more on your CPU how much frames you can get in the end.
Fewer frames are rendered at 4K, which means less work for the CPU. Think of it this way, the CPU has to process a bunch of game logic, physics, AI, etc - all in preparation before the GPU can render a frame. So you can also see the same effect but in the opposite way if for example: you upgrade your GPU and get higher fps, now your CPU is working harder to run the game at 150 FPS on the new GPU vs 40 FPS on the old GPU. So a good CPU is actually more important for people gaming on lower resolutions but aim for the highest FPS. While on 4K the CPU is less important.

What we see here is that the 3080 is a 4K/60-90fps card and the 3090Ti is a 4K/90-120fps card. I would ignore the numbers on RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 since they are terribly optimized games. If you're looking into playing at 4K then pick the card based on your monitor and desired frame rate.

I see a lot of issues with this comparison, which is really noticeable with the low power usage for the 3090ti in a lot of the game tester here along with not fully utilizing the card. Looks like the 12900k was having trouble feeding the 3090ti most of the time, I'm guessing it was running stock with ram just running XMP settings. Both cards would have seen a good boost in FPS with an OC'd 12900k and tightly tuned ram. My 3090ti easily sees higher utilization in all games here with just a 5900x that's tightly tuned, but it also has issues fully feeding it in a lot of games, but my power usage is way higher. Also the RDR2 test should have been in Vulkan API, it would have topped out each card a lot better.

First when he manualy type the gpu name on the afterburner osd, second when he edit the video and type the gpu name again on the subtitle with avg fps on it. Or, you say he didn't pay attention that much?

I know everyone can do mistake, but I'm trying look for other cause, since I did try to benchmark sipderman myself, and find this game is buggy on some graphic settings. Like ambient occlusion hbao shouldn't have less shadow than ssao. And when I change dlss settings, the frame drops a bit and need to restart the game to get proper fps. Even, turning off cpu multithreading on bios can improve the fps. I'm wondering whether he got into this kind of problem too.

20% improvement in 4K .. if u add another 20% that will be the performance for RTX4080 16GB.. that should be enough to hit any game 60fps on 4K without ray tracing obviously... so no need to buy top end card like RTX4090 with 450W base TDP.

no. nvidia never releases drivers upfront because for exactly that reason. the revievers get them shortly before the launch to prepare the final review, but as of now every review should be fake.

Why do people think AMD will force them to cut prices? AMD literally undercut Nvidia by 50 for a 6800xt compared to the 3080... I mean I hope we get a large undercut but seeing the 4090 sell out like hotcakes AMD can probably just charge slightly under again and get away with it.
Would be interesting to see how my EVGA 3080 FTW3 stacks up with the 450w vbios holding above 2ghz at all times. I can see it offering 85-90% of the 3090 Ti which is more than enough for my games at 4k!
I have an EVGA 3080 FTW3 Hydro Copper with the 450w bios and unfortunately it almost never hits 2ghz, maybe I lost the silicon lottery but I was disappointed with its lack of OC headroom
@@jak3All3n it doesn't work this way. Voltage is pretty high for given frequencies out of the box, the card is wasted. You should undervolt it and you'll get 2000+ very easily. Start with something like 2010mhz at .950v. From then raise the frequency or voltage depending on stability.

He was using RT ULTRA and likely included every other form of RT on. There's RT shadows from the sun, RT reflections that got upgraded and added to cars in a patch, RT local shadows that were added, RT lighting... Which is a huge fps killer on ultra nvm psycho which uses allows for RT global illumination. If you turn them off it's still heavy but it's far easier to hit 60 and above
Why would it crash? I have had a 3080 since launch and not once had it crash on any driver. Only issue was last driver broke cyberpunks map and made it an artifact mess
this channel already tested the 3080ti against the 3090 in a video released on Jun 3, 2021....and they tested a 3080ti vs 3090ti in a video from 5 months ago. There is also a benchmark comparison of the 3080ti + 12700k vs 3090 + 12900k. The 3090 is 2% to 5% faster than the 3080ti.

@@KarcusKorpse But I wouldn’t get more than a 3090 or even 3080 Ti because the 3090 Ti takes a lot of power under full load in games, it takes over 400 Watts ! Add the rest of the PC to that and you’re at over 700-900 Watts of power usage, that’s a lot when you play over 2 hours per day. I‘d get the RX 6900 XT instead if AMD‘s FSR and ray tracing wouldn’t be so crappy.
@@armeniancrusader301 I agree with you! It would be stupid of me to upgrade from a 3080 10gb. I've undervolted my Giagabyte 3080 Gaming OC (custom loop) to at least 200W! Total system wattage barely surpasses 400 watts. Most likely will wait for next gen after this. Gaming-wize it's okay but for other stuff the 24gb VRAM is enticing.
@@KarcusKorpse That’s great and for gaming 10GB is enough. 24GB VRAM is great for work though like Blender AutoCAD Solidworks etc. as the 3090 was originally made for that and not necessarily for gaming, the 3090 is like the "starter GPU" of workstations, above the 3090 and 3090 Ti are the Quadro GPUs. When you compare the 3080 Ti and 3090 the 3080 Ti and 3090 get almost the same FPS (about 3-5 FPS difference) with the 3090 taking about 10-15 W more power wich might be coming from the large VRAM.

Depends on the version you go with. The msi suprim x 3090ti easily holds 2025+ up to 2100mhz in some cases consistently since it's the highest clocked version of the card. Giving you a couple fps on top while playing. Custom designs can make a little but note worthy difference, I'm glad I went with said suprim x version of the card since prices dropped. The cooling is also pretty great. The 3090ti in the video might be be the water cooled Gigabyte model of the card. Also an absolute unit. :)
@@MrHodge1 No problem. The difference isn't huge though, but nice to have. Between the FE card model and the suprim x we get round about 5 additional fps on the more expensive suprim x card compared to the original stock FE version from Nvidia. However, the cooling solution for the msi suprim x is a lot better. And in my humble opinion it also has the slickest custom design of all 3090ti cards. :D The Suprim X simply looks gorgeous, lol. :D

Yep. 4080 us a great card. Already Overclocked it. So I got even more performance out of it. 28% increase in performance over my 6950 XT

He was using RT ULTRA and likely included every other form of RT on. There's RT shadows from the sun, RT reflections that got upgraded and added to cars in a patch, RT local shadows that were added, RT lighting... Which is a huge fps killer on ultra nvm psycho which uses allows for RT global illumination. If you turn them off it's still heavy but it's far easier to hit 60 and above

Why your 3080 not crash? What driver you use?
Why would it crash? I have had a 3080 since launch and not once had it crash on any driver. Only issue was last driver broke cyberpunks map and made it an artifact mess
your 3080 is sometimes overclocked sometimes runs at stock 1860 and your 3090TI is always above 2020 fix your test ok
You do realise clocks vary all the time right, and he wouldn't gain benefit by overclocking one over the other.

this channel already tested the 3080ti against the 3090 in a video released on Jun 3, 2021....and they tested a 3080ti vs 3090ti in a video from 5 months ago.
There is also a benchmark comparison of the 3080ti + 12700k vs 3090 + 12900k.
The 3090 is 2% to 5% faster than the 3080ti.

And when the 4000 series releases we could see the 3090 Ti going for less than 1000$ because 70-80% of people buying GPUs would be after the new GPUs and thus the prices of 3000 series would drop even more.
@@KarcusKorpse But I wouldn’t get more than a 3090 or even 3080 Ti because the 3090 Ti takes a lot of power under full load in games, it takes over 400 Watts ! Add the rest of the PC to that and you’re at over 700-900 Watts of power usage, that’s a lot when you play over 2 hours per day.
I‘d get the RX 6900 XT instead if AMD‘s FSR and ray tracing wouldn’t be so crappy.
@@armeniancrusader301 I agree with you! It would be stupid of me to upgrade from a 3080 10gb. I've undervolted my Giagabyte 3080 Gaming OC (custom loop) to at least 200W! Total system wattage barely surpasses 400 watts. Most likely will wait for next gen after this. Gaming-wize it's okay but for other stuff the 24gb VRAM is enticing.
@@KarcusKorpse That’s great and for gaming 10GB is enough. 24GB VRAM is great for work though like Blender AutoCAD Solidworks etc. as the 3090 was originally made for that and not necessarily for gaming, the 3090 is like the "starter GPU" of workstations, above the 3090 and 3090 Ti are the Quadro GPUs. When you compare the 3080 Ti and 3090 the 3080 Ti and 3090 get almost the same FPS (about 3-5 FPS difference) with the 3090 taking about 10-15 W more power wich might be coming from the large VRAM.

Wow people, the CPU power usage is higher at 1080p than it is at 4k..... it's almost like Hardware Reviewers KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING when they test CPUs at 1080p.

Yo dentro de 3 semanas terminó de juntar para cambiar el 60% del hardware de mi PC y entre las piezas que quiero cambiar tengo pensado remplazar mi 2060 por una ASUS ROG 3080 de 12GB más que nada por la tasa de refresco de mi monitor porqué no es 4K.
Depende de la resolución, para 1080p es recomendable la RTX 3060 TI, para 1440p la RTX 3080, y en 2160p la RTX 3090 TI

Depends on the version you go with. The msi suprim x 3090ti easily holds 2025+ up to 2100mhz in some cases consistently since it's the highest clocked version of the card. Giving you a couple fps on top while playing. Custom designs can make a little but note worthy difference, I'm glad I went with said suprim x version of the card since prices dropped. The cooling is also pretty great.
The 3090ti in the video might be be the water cooled Gigabyte model of the card. Also an absolute unit. :)

@@MrHodge1 No problem. The difference isn't huge though, but nice to have. Between the FE card model and the suprim x we get round about 5 additional fps on the more expensive suprim x card compared to the original stock FE version from Nvidia. However, the cooling solution for the msi suprim x is a lot better. And in my humble opinion it also has the slickest custom design of all 3090ti cards. :D The Suprim X simply looks gorgeous, lol. :D
@@MichaeltheORIGINAL1 fyi. Just realized my FE card boosts 2025 but my settings in MSI afterburner were capping it. I fixed them and I’m at 2025 as well. :)

3080 или выше. Думаю даже 3070 надолго не хватит.
