Dice tell stories and the idea of a Tau battlesuit pilot deciding "nah, I'd win." and vibe checking a Catan shard with a riptide so hard it DIES is peak 40K right there.
@burnin8able for real! I remember once my cadians were getting ROCKED by World Eaters, and my commisar commanded my infantry to go stab some astartes. It killed like three. It was crazy. Love this game!
Could you imagine being a fire warrior or a pilot or something recalling this like "yeah, I watched a breacher squad get ripped apart by canoptik wraiths which i hear in my dreams. But then I saw a wall ram into a shard of a god and kill it. It exploded, the wall was fine, it was the funniest shit ever."
I love watching these two go against each other, Nick has so much energy it's contagious and Michael not only plays my favorite faction, but is a joy to watch. Would love to play either one of them one day.
LET’S GO NECRONS!!! I’m always sad when a video with the Necrons end because they’re my favorite faction, but if there is anything I know about the Necrons is that they just keep coming back.
This is probably the best game I have seen on this channel ! so much going on ! the shield shock , the explosion killing shadowsun ! I was painting and made not progress at all watching it ! also nick and Micheal rolling each-other mortal wounds was strangely wholesome !
At 24:09 nick rolled a 3 for damage for a weapon with the melta rule. Due to the order of division and addition Micheal should have taken 4 damage and thus rolled one more fnp. This is all because the +2 isn’t included in the damage originally but is added at the end of the damage calculation by the melta rule so (3/2=1.5 rounded up is 2+2 from the melta rule=4) very minor mistake but I’m an avid keeper of the rules and I’m bound by my self to point it out. Thank you for reading TLDR: the C’tan shoulda taken 4 damage at that timestamp because of the melta rule
This is also a relevant rule for things that set the damage characteristic of an attack to zero, like the Tyrannofex. If it gets hit by a melta 2 weapon, even if it shuts off the attack's damage it still takes two because of this unintuitive interaction
No. Rules state that the damage charasteristic is increased when the attack is made (i.e. to hit is rolled). The damage reduction happens when the attack is allocated (i.e. after a successful wound is rolled.).
@@panuhotti3665 I don’t know what to tell you, a quick google search confirms my ruling, at least in official tournaments. If you really want to search up the core of it all you’ll have to find the rules commentary on warhammer community and look for “modifiers”
@@DaBlueIghuana I think you are correct - I am familiar with how melta weapons and the C'tans half damage interacts. However, I am unfamiliar with Nick's tau weaponry, so when I ask him, how much damage - I just automatically halve it. Good catch!
@@panuhotti3665 incorrect, page 34 paragraph 2 of the rules errata states that all modifiers are cumulative, and that division applies before multiplication, which applies before addition, which is before subtraction. Then you round up after all modifiers. A 3 damage shot plus Melta goes as follows. 3 damage, gets divided by 2, to be 1.5 damage, then there’s no multiplication modifier, Melta is an addition modifier so gets added now for 3.5, then there is no subtraction modifier. Then it is rounded up to 4 damage.
Thanks guys, it was a blast! Michael, you did not disappoint with the awakened dynasty list. Was biting my nails when those tank shots killed the C’tans, it was hilarious 😂 cool T’au game from Nick too. Looking forward to the next video 😎 oh and I almost forgot, the editing just gets better and better, well done! The kamehameha was just so sad and so funny too 😂 NECRONS ❤
Literally ran the Shieldline AND Gunrig and Droneport in a game last night...or rather, my opponent did. We had a special game where we all made lists and then whoever we got paired with we swapped armies. The Shieldline did, indeed, pivot and tank shock to victory multiple times
6:15 Yes, the mirror codex. That's a real thing written by Farsight in lore to combat the Codex Astartes before he "rebelled". No one uses it anymore for pretty obvious reasons!
loved this episode. I would have gone Kauyon instead of mont'ka and I would have left the shield wall at home. looking forward to Nick winning the rematch.
I can just imagine this battle starting with a Tau in swim trunks sunbathing when the same next to him starts moving and a Necron Warrior just sits out of it and stares at the Tau.
Ya a competition list of Necrons is hard to beat when played well, even when dice aren't rolling the best for them. Great game it was entertaining and the shield wall rams where hilarious.
14:10 a nother example why we need Psy Phase back =( i cast gun sounds so dumb! Also EXPLOSIONS!!!!!! Also Also the Song at 32:30 SLAAAAPPSS nice musik choices!
Hi PlayOn Awesome video as always!! Love it! Could you please explain the “rule” nick mentions at 42:50 where he says he can prevent reanimation by reducing the necron warriors and wraiths to half size (20 warriors to 10 eg.) To my understanding of the rules a units starting strength cannot be altered (except when talking attached units) and since reanimating protocol looks at starting strength I don’t see how nick can “prevent it” Why I’m curious is because micheal the Pro Necron player doesn’t object…
Ramming a C'Tan shard with a shield wall and actually killing it is lunacy and I love it
Shield wall to the ankle.
Damn SPOILERS NOOO like i realize its funny but why did i see this noo i wanted to experience that

I love that you can tell Nick was painting tau earlier from the white paint on his hands
Michael: “What are you gonna do? Tank shock me?”
Nick: *proceeds to kill TWO star gods with tank shock*
“You been hit by, you been struck by, a wall. *thunk!*”

I love watching these two go against each other, Nick has so much energy it's contagious and Michael not only plays my favorite faction, but is a joy to watch. Would love to play either one of them one day.
You know what immortal metal space Egyptians love?

Michael "This is my league list"

Michael says Nick has to reclaim his dignity, but he's the one not wearing pants. Great game as always to both players!

The story of the over-energetic kid against the weary teenager. 😂
