@@seansoutdoors i have use this bow for several weeks. Very good bow. Thanks to this channel. Very usefull info about this great bow. I wish you would compare this dragon x8 with the topoint m1..
Thanks a lot Sean for your thorough review on the Dragon X8. I have been watching many of your youtube video with keen interest. Each time I learn something new. Your professionalism , knowledge and successful bowhunting have earn you a lot of respect. Thanks once again.
Great, thanks for the compliment. God bless you
Hi Sean,
I just watched this bow review. I am looking for a good beginner bow for my wife. Archery is new to me and I want to get my wife involved in another hobby that I enjoy.
I got a used Bear Attitude compound bow about a year ago. I have a friend that is a competitive archer and he helped me by recommending a good archery pro shop that would get the bow checked out and all set up. They also gave me a few lessons to get me started. For now, I have been watching your videos and practicing in the back of our house every morning. There is a field out back where I have marked off from 20 to 50 yards. I am shooting from 20 to 30 yards for now. Taking it slow and trying to work on my form and consistency.
Anyway, thank you again for your informative videos. They are really helping me and inspiring me to get outside every day and practice with my bow. On a personal note, your scriptures have been helping me as well to remember and practice my Catholic faith.
I watch the mass everyday at 7 PM at home with my wife. I am keeping up with the Bible verses that you mention in your videos. Thanks for everything. God bless you and your family.
Tim from Tennessee
Thanks, Tim, and praise the Lord you are of the faith that provides Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist! As for this bow, I do think it would be a good one for your wife to get going with archery. God bless you.
Sean, great honest review! My wife and I are looking to get into archery and did not want to spend $1000 each so we will be watching your videos as we shop.
Great! Thanks
Awesome review as always very thorough! Cheers for remembering us down here in Australia!
Thanks!
Thanks yet again Sean. Amazingly comprehensive review! Those 'budget bows' look pretty good value. Cheers from Aus

Great review Sean, thanks for remembering your Australian brothers

Hey just wanna I’m glad your channel has grown iv been here since I think you had like 1500 subs I just noticed your up to 77k that’s awesome
Thanks Tim. It's been a long time since I had 1,500 subs. Maybe ten years. I'm glad to be growing bit it sure has taken me a long time lol. I was emailing with a guy the other day who has a channel one year old and he has the same amount of subscribers I have lol.
I had an old martin threshold but the cam broke. since I got the x8 pro my shooting has improved a lot. I love it. I used your video to set it up. very usefull. God bless.

Fantastic review Sean,
Great budget bow.

Awesome!
Thank you for doing this one. I trust your reviews. Please keep up the great work. Stay safe and blessed

Excellent work as always Sean. I really appreciate the time you take to make these videos. I can see they involve a lot of work off camera.
Thank you
Thanks for the review. Looking to get back into hunting now that my daughter is older. Your reviews are so helpful and you provide so much information. Definitely considering this bow.

Another great video. So cool the time tou take to help people
Thanks
Really good video like my Sanlida good bow to get back into archery! learned some new things from this video. Thanks!
Thank you
Last couple years your advice was for the diamond edge sb1 and i killed my first doe last year with mine. Thanks for the advice. It was a great bow to learn on!
Great! The SB1 is a great bow. Enjoy it
Got my first doe in January with it too! Good bow, but I'm going to upgrade pretty much everything on it this year. My buddy shoots a Z7 extreme and loves how light weight my bow is. I think his is faster and quieter though.
Very good review and thank you for adding in all of the extra beginner tips. I am thinking about getting into archery and to be honest I was thinking about a crossbow but I might just get a compound bow first to get started in the hobby. I know they are very different but I think the compound bow would actually be more fun.
👍
I was wondering you have any trips for improving the grip on the riser. It is a little smooth for me.
Some people use sports tape, like you’d use on a hockey stick handle.
Excellent bow for beginners, id recommend over more expensive bows forn1st time archers
Awesome
How would your rate this compared to the Diamond 320? I'm looking to buy my first bow, roughly in the 26-27 draw length, potentially use it for elk/deer hunting
They are pretty similar. This one seems a little smaller and lighter. Both shoot 320 feet per second at 31 inch draw. I can't remember the speeds and peak draw weight of the Edge 320 at your draw length. You can watch my video on it to find out. I remember that the peak weight of this bow is about 65 pounds for this bow. You can watch my video on the 320 to get those details th-cam.com/video/YQv0CTIB_MA/w-d-xo.html
Great work. Really put out a lot of good info and tips as usual. God bless.

I just ordered one to play around with to see how well I can get it to shoot.

I’m happy to hear archery is helping your situation. I do not work for Sanlida so I do not know how things are set up from one country to another, but I imagine they would be able to tell you some accurate information if you contact them directly. God bless you
Nice Bow, I like the color. And it sound cool.
Thanks
I'd be interested to see what you think of the Bear Salute. It's about the same price, but not as adjustable as the Cruzer G2
I haven't tried one but will keep a look out for one
Sean, just ordered this bow from Sanlida using the link on your website. 👍🏻
Maxing out the poundage at my draw length (28") should give me a draw weight around 66-67 lbs. If I plan on using a 150 grain fixed blade broadhead, what arrow spine should I start off with?
I'd probably start with 300 spine.
Cool. Thanks!
I want the dragon x 8 you have the best reviews ever I dont have a bow where is the best place to order one of those may god bless you
Use the link in the description and buy it online.
Hi Sean. have you ever made a pse evoke 35 review? Forgive me if I have missed it.
This is the only Evoke I ever reviewed th-cam.com/video/K7NvAxv9OBY/w-d-xo.html
Sean, Looks like the price of this bow package has gone up 30% since your original review. At this new price do you still feel it is the best budget bow on the market? Thanks
Yup, still a good option
Bought a x8 hope you receive your kickback
Wow thank you! If you used the link I provide to the Sanlida website then I certainly should! So, thank you! God bless you.
have you done one on the sas fued? it looks better (imo) than the dragon, different cams
Sorry, no
Hey! I'm watching Your content about archery since week I guess and I realy respect Your reckon :) I have question to You about that Sanlida, is it USA or China production? I can buy Sanlida Bravo with basic equipment(as true begginer which looks budget solutions for hunting bow), for about 250$ and I'm wondering if it's a good choice, If not, I also consider Gen-X XLR8 but it's higher price option(more-less 340$) so I wonder what's better - buy cheaper stuff for the start, or kill money pig with these miserable 100 bucks inside and buy Gen. What You say? I'd be thankfull for short advise. Greets from Europe :)
I think they are made in China. I have only shot the Dragon x8 of their bows so I am not able to comment on the others. God bless you.
Hey Sean I got the Bear Cruzer G2 as my first bow , how does that compare to a bow like this ? They are both 30” axel to axel and both have the 4 limb design.
I like this bow a lot better. It is cheaper than the Bear cruzer and the bear you have to switch the entire mod to change draw length Evey half inch. This bow has them all on the same mod. This bow has less vibration than the Bear as well.
Sean's Outdoor Adventures thank you for the reply
Sean, I'm a beginner and just order my X8 bow. I have some confusion about draw weight and draw length. If the bow is set at 70lb, then with my draw length, say 27for example, then the actual draw weight at my draw length will be around 60lb. This is the info I got from your video. Is that right? Then with the same draw length, if the bow is set at 60lb, then the actual draw weight at my draw length (27in) will be around 50lb. I made this assumption based on the knowledge from your video. Is this assumption correct?
IF you loosen the limb bolts so that it is 60 pounds while at the 31 inch draw length, and then you change the draw mods so that it is set to 27 inches, then yes, the draw weight will be reduced. I cannot say if it will definitely be a ten pound increment that would yield 50 pounds but it will likely be close. God bless you
Great review! I’m in the process of purchasing this bow. Have you seen any company that produces aftermarket strings? Also I want your thoughts on adding twist and speed knocks for more speed on this bow. I have a 30in draw w/29.5 Easton carbon hex weighing 370 grains fixed blade and intend on installing a drop away rest to also help with arrow speed. I previously shot a Matthews black max2 shooting 337fps. I’d like to stay above 300fps. For me, faster is better.
I typically send people to 60x custom strings. You can try speed knocks. For arrows, I'd go to the manufacturer's website and put in the specs and see what spine they recommend.
You should do a review of the 2021 Bow Tech Amplify. I've been itching to see one and no one has it despite advertising it.
I already recorded it and edited it. I just need to fit it into the upload schedule
My father Mark Schottenbauer { Deceased} was wisconsins "Broadhead archery champion 6 years consecutive from the early 70"s. i used to pull/produce his arrows when needed {fletching and knocking} my question is What product // manufacturer of recurve bow was there in the 70"s. and is Jennings bows around any longer { Jennings lightning was my 1sr compound
I think Jennings was bought by another company and then dissolved.
How is the overall build quality? I'm just interested in trying it out to see how it stacks up. Thanks and God Bless you, your family and channel
Also I'd like to know how long ago did this bow come out. Thanks
The build quality is better than what I was expecting for the price tag is $199. It's the best value bow I've ever tested.
@@ivyleague3224 It is a new release.
Sean how long do bow strings typically last? I've had a bow I haven't shot and the strings may be atleast 4-5 years old that are on it. Should I just have the bow restrung before shooting it?
String life has a lot to do with how much you shoot the bow. Also it is related to how you store it. If it is stored in extremely hot temperatures, strings and cables can stretch. In that instance, you would need to probably take them off and add twist to them to get them back to specifications. However, you should still be able to shoot them for a while. The more you shoot strings, the more they wear out. so, it has more to do with how much they are shot. As long as you keep them waxed, you should be okay for a while.
Thanks for your advice I feel better about it now.
Been watching your channel for awhile .as we say in Australia bloody good mate.anyhow how can I buy one of these bows .thanks mate
Try using this link. It may cost a little more due to the increased cost to ship it to there. www.sanlidaoutdoor.com?DIST=RUA%3D
I've had a bow for years but after 24 years of use one of the limbs splintered. I primarily hunt with a crossbow but want the compound bow option as well. For limited use, do you feel this is a good option? I was shooting a high country split force previously.
I would not shoot it with a splintered limb. Get something new. If you don't want to spend much get a dragon x8
th-cam.com/video/S-KhoE4RHJA/w-d-xo.html
Sean's Outdoor Adventures CORRECT! I retired it immediately! I was wondering if the X8 would be a good replacement and u just answered that. Thank You. How’s the backwall on the x8?
Hey Sean,
When I first watched the video and went to amazon to check out the bow, there was a second option called the pro package which come with a few extra accessories for an extra 30 bucks. Now that you are able to buy it off of amazon, that option went away. Do you know anything about that and if that is still an option and they have not just put it back up yet.
No, I'm not sure. Maybe use the link I have to their actual website and send them an email through their website.

Sounds pretty good for 2 bones would this be good for long term use ? & can’t wait to win one of those bows .. thanks for today’s script ...
I think it would last pretty long if you take care of it.
maybe i read the manual wrong but on the x8 it says that when you reduce the draw weight it reduces draw length as well. i shoot at 60# with a 30.5 draw length. is this bow going to be good for me or should i get something else?
When. You reduce dare weight you increase draw length. You can also see this by measuring tiller. As you reduce draw weight you increase the tiller measurement
@@seansoutdoors thanks for replying Sean. I decided to get the 0-60 bow to keep it at max weight so i dont lose speed since i shoot at 60 lbs anyway. I watch your videos all the time.they're very informative, and when i buy the bow i will use the link on your page.thanks. God bless.
Hey Sean. Could you send me the complete arrow specs that you used while testing speed at 30in draw and max weight. Thanks
350 grain total arrow weight. 70 pounds for the bow. 100 grain tip.
Thank you sir. What manufacturer, model, spine, length, and field point weight did you use?
@@victorvargas1792 Easton Flatline 400 spine, full length, 100 grain tip. I had to add a little weight to achieve 350 grains by adding a little wrap to the fletch end of the arrow. I weighed the arrow with a grain scale like this one amzn.to/2WugrZu and then I cut little pieces of arrow wrap (like this amzn.to/30t3VdS) and weighed the pieces. Once I had 350 grains even, I added the wrap to the shaft.
How often should you change the string?
It depends on how often you shoot and how often you wax your string. For most people it is once every two years.
@@seansoutdoors
I shoot almost daily often twenty arrows. I wax the string every two or three weeks or as needed.
You could probably go a year and a half without too much trouble. You more than likely need to add twist over time due to stretching though.
Hi Sean, Love you channel! Would you suggest this or thehh Edge 320 for a buy once cry once bow? thank you and god bless!

I am bug guys 6''4 and I don't know if there is anything else you would recommend for me or this bow would just work fine? I am living in Europe, so market is also not the same as in USA.
You need to start by identifying you draw length. Once you do you need to see what models come in your draw length.

Hello
I would like to ask... I have a bow 70 -72 pounds & 28 draw length. The "right" spine arrow (easton chart) is around 300.
If I use 250 spine arrow with lighter grain tip. What will be the diference?
I think the weight of arrow is spread more equal in overall length and make it to travel - flight better than an arrow with the weight concentrate on the tip... Am I right? Do I lose in penetration? Thanks
Most people like more weight toward the front because the arrow flight stabilizes out better.
I am a guy about 6'4, DL 31", but a large guy. Would this bow be appropriate, especially since I am a beginner?
If you don't want to spend a lot then this is about the best option.
@@seansoutdoors would the Eaton go getter arrow work for this bow? Thank for the review and feedback.
@@erronjohnson8876 I'm guessing you mean Easton Gamegetter arrows. If that is the case, yes, that will work. I'd prefer carbon arrows though because they are more durable.

Hi Sean,
I have a question about a product. Have you ever heard of Alpine Innovations?
They make a bow slicker, which is like a sling to carry the bow. They also make a sight slicker which is a small cover made of neoprene used to cover and protect the bow sight when walking in the woods. Their products are reasonably priced and made in the USA.
I have both the bow slicker for carrying my bow and the sight slicker for my bow sight.
Although, I do not have the hunting and archery experience like you and many others do. I wanted to protect my bow and bow sight when outside. Let me know what you think about these products. Maybe you can do a review on this company and their products.
Thank you and God bless you.
Tim McGrath
I haven't heard of or used them, but sounds like you are getting good use out of them.
i want a compound target bow under 250 any suggestions
They don't exist. Exclusively target compounds begin around $1,200 and go up. I'd just get whatever compound you can afford. The Dragon x8 is probably your best option.
How much pounds do you hold at full Draw when the bow is set at 70lbs
Look at the chart on my website.
@@seansoutdoors please excuse me if it was on the web sit or in your video but I am kind of new to compound archery and my question Is i have heard some people say that they are able to hold lets say 42 pound on a recurve max for like 7 seconds but 42 pounds on a compound bow they can hold for however long they want
@@crazymods1795 Yes, a compound bow has what is called let off. When you reach full draw you are only holding a small percentage of the weight. For instance, pulling a 70 pound pull bow, you are only holding about 10 or 15 pounds. pulling a 40 pound pull bow you are holding 40 pounds at full draw. With a recurve the draw weight continues to increase the farther you pull back.
@@seansoutdoors thank you so much been doing recurve for about a year now and want to get started into compound thanks for the tips you helped me out a lot

It is certainly a good economical option. It shot 320 feet per second for me at 31 inch draw, and it has a good feel when it goes off. You can also work on it by simply lowering the poundage way down without needing a bow press. Definitely helpful things.

@@dans4270 Thanks. Allow me to share some thoughts, and I hope you will prayerfully consider them and talk with Jesus about them. Many people who read the Bible without knowing the proper context in which to read it don't realize that to believe in Jesus or to call upon His name means you must respond in the way Jesus commanded we must respond. What does it mean to call on the name of the Lord Jesus? That means we must request baptism. We need the Church ministers to provide baptism, which also means we need the Church. Firstly, read Mark 16:16 where Jesus says we must believe AND be baptized to be saved. Also read the book of Acts 2:37 how the people were cut to the heart by Peter's speech and said, what must we do to be saved? Peter responds you must repent and be baptized. Peter also reminded us in 1 Pt. 3:21 that it is baptism that saves us now, because that is how Jesus wants to give us the saving grace he won for us on the cross. If you are not baptized, you won't be saved, for Jesus says you must be born again by water and spirit in order to enter the kingdom (John 3:5). If you look at the reaction of the Eunuch in Acts 8:36, he hears Philip preach about Jesus, but we don't hear what Philip even said. However, we know what he said because of the Eunuch's response. He yelled, "Look, there is water, what is to prevent me from being baptized?" As soon as he received baptism, Philip was taken away. So, in coming to belief in Jesus and calling on His name means to request baptism. Also read in the book of Acts 2:42, the people DEVOTED themselves to the teachings of the Apostles (hearing the word preached at Mass), the communal life (This is lived out in praying at Mass other), the breaking of the bread (Celebration of the Eucharist at Mass), and the prayers, (the prayers we say at Mass). Read how Saint Paul had to correct the Corinthians who were abusing this. 1 Cor. 11:23-32 he reminded them of the Eucharist which he received from the Lord - it isn't just a human meal where you eat and drink. Rather, you are celebrating the Lord's Eucharist. He even says that if you approach the Eucharist without discerning the Body of the Lord, you eat and drink judgment on yourself. Why would you be eating and drinking judgment if it wasn't the actual body of Christ? Then we read Jesus' words in John 6:51-59. We must eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ to be one with Him in the New Testament, the New Covenant, and he will raise us on the last day. And if we choose to reject that teaching, we are like the followers of Jesus who walked away from Him as depicted in John 6:66. Again, we need the Church and her ministers to provide these sacraments. We can't just do it on our own. That is why Jesus didn't come to give us a book. Rather, he chose 12 men to minister to his people (Peter, do you love me? Feed my lambs...) Jesus gave them all the sacraments, such as reconciliation (Confession), John 20:22-23 Jesus breathed on them and said "Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, whose sins you retain are retained" (How could they know to forgive or retain if they didn't hear it first?) James 5:16. we are reminded that we are to confess our sins to one another, not confess that we have sinned, but our actual sins. As Catholics, not only do we live the Scripture, but we do it in a way that we grow spiritually - not telling just anyone, but God's minister who can give us advice for overcoming that sin. Again, we need the Church, we need God's community for this to be possible. It is not Jesus' plan for us to go it alone, yet many modern Christians interpret the bible in a way that implies a do it on your own type of plan, and that is just not Jesus' plan. Thanks for watching, and God bless you.
@@seansoutdoors ok I see you believe your church's teachings and know them well, that being said I'll tell you what God's word says.
I'll start with this. The text for the king James bible comes from Antioch Assyria, that is where the disciples ( someone who's disciplined and following Christ's teachings ) were first called Christain. All other bibles come from the texts from Alexandria Egypt.
In English we have to ask " who, what, when, where and why ?" Etc.
Mark 16:16 is just before Christ returns to Glory ( the father's side ). Jesus said I am come to the house of the lost sheep of Israel. He didn't come for the gentiles. We get in because the Jews rejected him.
Acts 28:28 is where Paul tells the Jews that the salvation of God is sent unto the gentiles, and they will hear it.
The jews require a sign in
1 Corinthians 1:22
jews started with signs in Exodus 4:1-9
Jesus told the Jews except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe in John 4:28
Jews associate water with purifying all throughout the old testament.
John the Baptist used baptism to bring out the jews to get them ready for their messiah.
Baptism gets you wet it doesn't save you.
1 Peter 3:26 says it's a " figure " a figure is not the real thing.
It also says " ( not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God." I got baptized AFTER I got saved. So didn't the Ethiopian eunuch. IF thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. He was baptized after faith.
As for John 3:3 Jesus explains what he's saying to Nicodemus so he can understand it. In verses 5-6 born of water is the physical birth, the woman's water brakes and after the child comes out. That's why he said again " that which is born OF THE FLESH IS FLESH, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
You have to be born " again ".
God is a spirit,... " being born of God is the spiritual birth.
Being born of water is the physical birth. No baptism.
Paul was asked by the keeper of the prison in Acts 16:30 " sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Paul said in verses 31 " Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,..." no baptism.
As for John 6:51-59 Jesus is doing this to get ride of them and to see who'll really follow him.
In verses 15 Jesus percieved that they ( the people he just feed ) would take him by force, to make him a king ( wasn't his time to be king yet ), he departed but they followed him. That's were he states of eating his flesh and drinking his blood.
In verse 63 he tells " it is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth NOTHING: the words that I speak, they are spirit, and they are life.
If Christ was talking literal than he'd be braking his own commandments.
Genesis 9:4 before the law, you're not to eat blood.
Leviticus 17:11-14 under the law, no soul of you shall eat blood, or even the stranger.
Acts 15:20 under grace " ...., that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from BLOOD."
Acts 21:25 is a repeat.
In Luke 24:33 there are others besides the 12 disciple, so there's more than 12 disciples. In acts they cast lots between two men who had been with them sense the baptism of John. Christ sent his disciples out by twos and there were 70 sent out all at once.
In James it says confess your faults not sins.
Ok I know this is long but one more thing. Salvation ( according to God's word ) is a free gift.
Ok please answer me this on question how much work do YOU have to do to receive a free gift?
For by grace are ye saved, by faith, and that not of yourselves, it IS the GIFT OF GOD, not of works lest any man should bost.
now I didn't give you what my church says/teaches I gave you what God's word says.
We can argue about the Greek text, or where our bibles come from but one thing no one should argue about is the gift of God. Jesus Christ was given, the just ( Jesus) for the unjust ( everyone else ). In April of 1998 I trusted Gods Word. I put my faith in what Jesus did for me on the cross ( he said " it was finished). I asked him forgive me and save me from hell. Ever sense that day I've been trying to follow him. I put no trust in what I've done because there's no way anyone of us can work our way into heaven. Jesus is the only way, and I'm talking about the man/son of God, God manifest in the flesh.
If you're trusting in your works, church Etc. than according to God's word you are already damned John 3:18
Please don't think I'm attacking you or anything like that. When people hear God's word they get offended.
I'm not trying to insult you or be a jerk, I believe God and I can only speak those things that I know to be true.
Thanks again Sean.
