- Borla makes great systems for v6 Challengers. There are a lot of videos about borla and v6 challengers, so I decided to make another one. In this video you going to watch a cold start, some revving and a drive by. Video recorded and edited on IPhone. Cuz not a TH-camr. Just wanted to share with other v6 owners.
I can't believe how good this V6 sounds almost on par with a V8. Probably one of the best American V6's I've ever heard.

Dante P can confirm, in real life it sounds good as hell, definitely on par with a v8 playing in the low rpms and sometimes even better popping than a stock v8 exhaust. Borla did their thing with this - Remember even some hellcats have this same Borla system, it’s the real deal.
Very good sound for a V6. I don’t like to bash no ones ride. If you like V6’s, fine. If you like V8’s and you can afford them, that’s fine to. But don’t go bashing other peoples rides. The good thing about challenger’s is that at first sight you can’t tell the difference other than the badges. This one is a really nice looking challenger and it sounds good too 👍

I had a Borla ATAK on my V6 Challenger and it sounded great! People used to ask me all the time if it was a V8.
Nice. Di you have any vids? I'm trying to decide between the type S or the Atak for my 2023 GT. Ppl always think I have a V8 even with just the stock exhaust. Constantly am asked if it's a hellcat but that's likely because I have the hellcat hood due to upgraded packages. Mine had the hemi orange package but I also have custom vinyls around the rear wheels

Startup and idle sounds nice...but the higher Rpms is where I tap out on.
I thought that too after watching this video...I installed the exhaust anyway and turns out that it actually sounds great even at the high rpms. It was the video editing that fucked up the high rpm noise by trying to equalize the entire audio

Mr. Mehoff you can’t just throw axel backs on and expect a good sound. Your exhaust will be about $2,000 before it sounds great. You need headers, an h pipe, and s types to get a decent sound, that’s about $1500 after labor (unless you do it yourself)
Legs and intakes will bring it up to $2,000

I just put my Borla S-type on my challenger 3.6. It doesn’t sound like yours, but I sure hope it’s just because it has to be broken in! Lol

How's the drone in between 1000-2000 rpm?
@@ab26809 in the website borla claims they engineer it with absolutely 0 drone so there shouldn’t be any.
Best sounding so far of all the exhausts I've heard. Is there any drone at all? Cabin sound videos would be great if you ever get a chance.

Yep. Borla is where it's at with these cars. I think the Atak sounds a little more aggressive but, this S Type sounds really nice too.
I'm so torn between the two. I agree that the ATAK sounds more aggressive but this sounds... cleaner? Higher quality? Man, I want both lol

This one fits the 2013-2014 challengers, Borla S type same one in the vid, I have the borla atak on my challenger it’s a lot more louder than the s type
I have a ripp charged 300S and the best thing to do with the exhaust is leave it stock. That minimizes the Honda Fart!
Will I void my warranty getting one?
Yep. Technically, it would only be void in cases where they can "prove" the exhaust system is the problem or caused it, but there are a TON of cases of dealerships saying to jump in a river, at which point you can either fight them on it (costs money and time) or let it go. Safest assumption is always that the second you mod the car, no warranty.
I live rural, sound echos though my mountain valley. I just heard one of these for 5 minutes before it got here. Truly unique sound. I have never heard one until just now.

This a full cat back setup? I am thinking of just swapping out the mid muffler with a s-type muffler on my 16 SXT Charger

It shouldn't have any drone, probably it's leaking, or make sure you have installed it correctly. It is better it mechanic does it
My Borla S Type seems to rattle a little at a low speed. Have you had any issues like this?
I didn’t have issues like that. Check all the connections again. Sounds like something is loose.

Damn, you're definitely lucky to be getting a Challenger at 16. My first car was a 1983 Oldsmobile Toronado with a 307. Fun car back in the 90's but nowhere near the horsepower a V6 puts out nowdays.
What do you have for the exhaust system? I’ve got stock cats, no mufflers, no resonators and 3 inch quad tips.

Borla Atak not attach lol and it's a matter of personal preference. It's more expensive then the Atak but "better" boils down to preference. I'm torn between the 2 myself. Trying to decide which to put on my 23 challenger altho I really like the Solo Performance but also like these borlas. The shop I plan on going to tho has the 2 borlas so I'll likely choose one of them
The cold start is good but the drive by doesn't work for me... the flowmaster 10's sound better

I just purchased a new s type, does it sound quiet if your driving under 2500rpm and foot 1/4 way on gas pedal?
It sounds relatively quite compared to any other catbacks under 2500rpm and foot at 1/4 way on gas. You won’t be bothered by the sound. I can guarantee it. Make sure to install it properly and for the best results try to get airaid intake system for $250 on carid or elsewhere.

How loud is this when driving?
NadavG in normal driving you barely notice it in the cabin, step on the gas and exhaust opens up and screams. Doesn’t sound like a cheap exhaust. Reminds me of baby v12 or maserati ghibli . Sometimes when drive with paddle shifters when I change a gear at 6000 rpm exhaust shots 💥 you can hear small explosion

Borla is by far one of the best sounding systems for these cars. But, if you were to mount these with some long tubes.. 🤔 I've been trying to find that sound.
I'm pretty sure the heads and exhaust manifold are one piece, it'd take some serious fab work to put long tubes on a 3.6

Mako Momo I would say drone is minimal, hard to notice. It’s loud when you step on the throttle. Atak I think is loud for my taste. I am very satisfied with stype. It’s definitely noticeable and I love it. I think stype matches perfectly with this car

Oh really, looks like Germany is very strict on exhaust mods. Honestly, I don’t know what to say in this case. But honestly this exhaust is not loud when you keep your rmps low. It has nice low burble, when step on gas on higher rmps its screams
Too slappy sounding at higher rpms for me, especially considering the cost. Sounds vicious at cold start, but that only lasts a minute. Close, but not quite for me.
If your going to complain buy a scatpack like I did

@@Goyxrd3 lol... no need, and no desire. I have a V6 Challenger, and I feel my exhaust setup sounds better at higher rpms, at about 1/4 the price... so there IS a "way around it". Lol. I have no intention of buying a V8. You ARE flexing by bringing in the fact that you have a V8, as if that somehow makes any difference to this discussion. Fact is, high rpms is the litmus test for most exhaust mods on a Pentastar V6. I know, I've done quite a bit of experimentation, and have the pile of various mufflers and such to prove it. Even a straight pipe hack job sounds good at cold start. This system, AS I SAID, sounds vicious ( that's a very good thing if you couldn't understand that) down low, but it has a slappy, sharper tone on revs than some simpler, way less expensive options, and I find that sound unattractive and unnecessary, especially at that price point. If you disagree, fine, but bringing V8 references into a V6 discussion has no pertinence, yet you felt compelled to use it. It happens often, and I'll call it out every time. Plus, you seem to be implying that everyone must agree with you, which is just as silly as you bragging about buying a V8 in a V6 discussion. Look at the last two words of my comment... "for me". My opinion. Still is. Unlike you, I didn't tell you that you had to agree with me. That would be a douche move...and it was. Get over it.

I see you are really interested. So, I’ll be short but informative. This exhaust is loud , but nothing like a straight piped car. It’s enjoyably loud I would say. Idle is good like a young hemi, you can def feel a good exhaust. For me it’s deep and throaty, obviously not like hemi but much better than stock. If you want it bit louder go with atak. Don’t worry both of them not gonna wake up your neighbors. It’s a good loud not obnoxious

I just installed an s type cat back has like 70 miles on it but sound pretty much stock like hardly any difference anyideas ?
marco corleone make sure you have installed them right, sometimes people install them upside down like they could have switched the inlet with outlet
Doston’s Mopar what do u mean upside down ...? I installed it but there is pretty much only one way to put it on because the pipes sleeves would only allow u to put it the one way there supposed to go ?
Check all the mufflers and resonators sometimes piece of plastic or paper could be stuck inside, nvm my first comment it’s not relevant. Something must be wrong because they do not sound anything like a stock at all

Dwayne Brownbody twinturbo with around 600 hp and all wheel drive godzilla? You already gapped it just on the specs. My car def not fast as I wanted but overall it has some goodies as I want. I just needed some good exhaust for it. I always wanted r35 tho, but can’t afford yet

How is he upbadging by putting an exhaust system on his car? That's not what upbadging is. Upbadging is putting an R/T emblem on a V6 or a Scatpack emblem on a standard R/T and so on. Dumbass.
