- The Hoka Mach X is the latest offering is the super-daily trainer lineup. Is it a worthy successor to the Mach 5? After about 50 miles underfoot, I'm here to tell you what I think.

Agree 100%. I'm a Mach superfan - I've used the 4 and 5 for just about everything and love it. The X is a clunker though. It's comfy, but it doesn't make me want to pick up the pace at all, in fact, quite the opposite. Anything I thought this shoe could do, the regular Mach does it better. It's now my $180 EZ day/social run shoe. Bummer...
Hi, I tried Mach X as a demo shoe in a group run sponsored by HOKA. I was excited about the opportunity to try them on, but I was not wowed after about 4.5 miles in them. Based on specs, I was comparing them with Endorphin Speed series (I own 1/2/3 and 2 Shield) and even the nerfed Speed 3 has more pop than Mach X. I think they might be the best daily trainer that HOKA offers, and they are a good one at the moment, but I fell short of my expectations, especially at that price level.
Agreed. They’re a great daily trainer and feel pretty durable, so there’s that!

Would you describe this as a more energetic Clifton? That seems what it is
I would describe it as a snappier Mach 5. It also felt like the New Balance SC Trainer V2 a bit.
