I used a program called Debut. I'd never used it before. I was actually borrowing that PC and my girlfriend already had that screen capture software installed, so I just used it. :)
I havent installed CBHC either as I dont want to risk a brick. I've tried injections but I've found the most stable way for me to play GC is through Nintendont, with the iso's stored on the SD card.
@@raffa9783 there is an option when you boot Nintendont to use the Wii U gamepad. If the option doesn't pop up, perhaps make sure you have the most up to date version of Nintendont installed.

@@raffa9783 through vWii I believe you can only use GC controllers if the adapter is connected to the USB ports behind, since the Wii didn't have USB ports on the front
Question: How do I change aspect ratio for these GameCube Injects? By default, it's (always) 4:3? Which option do I do to change the display screen ratio to 16:9? I know Force Widescreen is the Widescreen hack for games that don't normally support widescreen. Testing F-Zero, which is a game that supports both 4:3 standard display and 16:9 widescreen display, when I enable Widescreen mode in the F-Zero's game Option screen, the display doesn't stretch from 4:3 to 16:9 when enable the Widescreen setting in the game's Option menu and the widescreen is still in a 4:3 display. EDIT: Okay, I figured it out. TeconMoon's Nintendont Config is probably a bit outdated. The latest Nintendont Config menu that is included in UWUVCI AIO (that also can do GameCube Injects and Injects of other platforms for Wii U) has a Wii U Widescreen config. The version in TeconMoon instead has a BBA Emulation option which might be used for GameCube online/LAN multiplayer games. But now with the Wii U Widescreen config, now 4:3 games are stretched to 16:9. I could just Force 4:3 for games that don't natively support widescreen nor have widescreen hack.

@@Soulself I believe Nintendont needs to stay. I don't think you need anything else, but like I said, I haven't looked at this stuff in a while, so I'd recommend you ask somewhere else to be sure before you start deleting anything.
I’m having problems with saving my game. I clicked on GC retail injection. I clicked on Nintendont SD Card Menu. In the SD card menu, I clicked on Generate Nintendont Config File. I enabled Memcard Emulation and set my Memcard Blocks to be 251. I exited out the SD Card Menu, and did the rest of the steps. When I injected my game and started to play, I get a message prompt in the game that there is not a memory card inserted and I can’t save my game. What am I doing wrong?
@@bcharette86 as far as I remember I set up nintendont sd card settings only once (not while injecting gc game every time). I'm using sd card adapter and I was trying moving that tiny switch to enable writing on card. For nintendont setup i crosschecked same fields as shown in video). And magically after couple trials and errors it worked. I think the key is to setup nintendont gc emulation only once after you see it worked, somehow setting it every time you inject rom messes up whole process. I really hope it helped. Sorry for my english.
Is the Gamecube virtual console emulation on par with Wii Gamecube emulation? Is it the same? I'm looking for the highest quality Gamecube experience on my Wii U to play a game I bought (Zelda).
There's no problem if i install a PAL iso in an USA Wii U? Edit: It works, i installed F-Zero GX (PAL) in my USA Wii U. My CFW is Tiramisu, just in case. So if you have it you can do it without any risk
Such a shame that I lost my original Nintendo GameCube controllers but fortunately there's the ones that were rereleased for Super Smash Bros Ultimate alongside a controller adapter which I didn't get for the Wii U but I did get for the Nintendo Switch
I'm new to modding the wiiu. Just managed to get coldboot onto the unit and I'm really interested in injecting titles as I got my gc adapter and controlller ready but I want to know whether games installed into the NAND can be transfered to an USB HHD at an later date as I don't currently have one. Do let me know :)

@@RGGeek Sorry I was talking different to avoid issues with hacks, you feel me? In the injection program below the Wii u keys, there is another key row I guess is for the game title you want to inject, can't find those kind of keys from the title I'd, I'm trying to make a WUP GameCube inject file
@@Eva00Pilot You just need one key for the Wii U and another one particular game. I made this tutorial some time ago, so don't remember the details, but you only need one Wii U key and one game key and that works for all the games you want to inject. You don't need a separate key for each game.
EDIT: I've done it. It works perfectly for wii games without any vWii modding. I'm using Mocha CFW, just start Mocha at every wiiu start, as any other game

I have a huge problem with trying to play Gamecube virtual console games with a gamecube controller. I was using a Nyko Adapter for the console and it doesn’t work at all, and all the virtual console games I have on my console are on the Console itself and not through NintendoDont. Could I possibly need an official licensed Wii U Adapter to play virtual console with gamecube controllers?
@@RGGeek Okay, well that’s no problem! I wish I could send you a photo to show you what I mean. The games aren’t loaded off NintendoDont directly on the Wii Homebrew Channel, it’s on the Gamepad screen itself on the Wii U menu, and NintendoDont just loads up for 5 seconds, but I don’t know if you’ve seen that with some Wii U Mods. Sorry if this sounds all confusing!

What are you using to connect your GameCube controllers to the Wii U? I'm wondering if it's an issue if you're using a third-party adapter instead of Nintendo's official adapter. That's the only issue I can think of.
@@RGGeek I’m indeed using a 3rd party adapter(as well as 3rd party GameCube controllers). So I guess that may be the issue? It has to be an official Nintendo adapter? Edit: I’m using the Y team adapter found on Amazon to be specific.
I think the external hard drive is likely to last longer, because they're designed to handle heat better, but that's the only reason I'd recommend switching. I think you'll be fine with the 128 GB USD if that's enough space for you.
Quick question so I softmodded my Wii U too and did this process of installing a gc game on my Wii U why when I play the game does it drift in gameplay like it moves my character? Is it a emulator problem or a Wii U pad problem? Will a pro controller not be as sensitive as the Wii U pad?
I followed the cheap gamer guide too and have it all running great. Any idea how to adjust the Nintendont settings for GameCube etc games that were injected? I can’t seem to find this info anywhere. I’m hoping I don’t have to “rebuild” the game and reinstall it to my external ssd drive.
To my knowledge you'll have to "rebuild" the game, but maybe ask on one of the Wii U modder communities to get a response from someone more experienced with this than me.

From my understanding this method uses Nintendont behind the scenes. I thought using Nintendont alone wouldn't let you have icons for each of your games. I also made this video 2 years ago, so things might've changed since then.

Anything special you need to do to get the GCN controller working on injects? My super generic GameCube to Wii U adapter works fine for me if I use it via the traditional method of loading Nintendont, and then selecting the game, but if I inject that same game, it's not detected. No matter if I choose to allow the GamePad or not. Any idea what may be wrong? Any way to force the GCN adapter to be used?
For me, and for most others, you have to wait to plug in the controller adapter until after you loaded the game, when your disc drive stopped making noises, you can plug your adapter in, and after that your controller. I think it works straight away as in the clip if you use your gamepad as a screen. I always use TV only, and then you have to do it the way I explained.
@@roteca I’ve personally always just left my controllers in all the time and they just worked, but maybe because I have an official Wii U GameCube adapter.
Thanks, I'll try the unplug thing. I've only tried on GamePad, since it's for the inlaws and they are usually watching TV. I want to put it on the TV once fully working for them. They don't understand how to go thru all the menus and things like that. Weird that it works on the Nintendont channel, but doesn't work for injects. They bought a steering wheel cheap somewhere (Mad Katz, for GCN, Xbox and PS2), thinking it was a plug & play device (aka not for a game system). They didn't know you needed a game disc or game system at all. The only system they have or even want is Wii U (or as they call it, Wii). So I thought I'd try and get it working on F-Zero GX and the like. I guess I can make a custom icon calling Nintendont "Driving games" if nothing else works...

Is there any way to get wiimmfi support with a Wii VC inject? I've tried teconmoon's injector and UWUVCI with my patched ISO of MKW CTGP and it will not allow me to connect to Wiimmfi to play online. I also have the DNS set up for Wiimmfi in internet connection settings. Any advice?
I didn’t do anything special, just plugged the controllers in and they all worked. I’ve played some 4-player Mario Party on the GameCube like this before.
I can't get my inject to work for some reason. I installed it on the hard drive, learned you can't do that, then installed it to a USB drive, and it's just a black screen. Any fixes for this?
@@RGGeek Tried it with a different GC game this morning, same result. I don't know if it's something with the SD card settings (primarily because every time I open the menu for it up after saving the config file, all the settings are reset), or something else entirely.
Hello. I have an odd problem. I injected about 6 GameCube games. I can launch them all in one session. Once I turn the system off and restart it, none of the GameCube games load anymore and i just get a black screen. If I delete the saves folder from the SD then i can play them again, but that doesn’t help if I can’t save them. Anyone know of a fix?
@@josh6453 To my knowledge the only way to not have to patch every time is to use CBHC, but then you have a risk of bricking your Wii U if you don’t know what you’re doing. :-/
Is there an app that can inject N64 games to wii u menu? because on the teconmoon there is only option to convert wii and gc games to wup files anything for n64? all i got is an emulator and it's not as convinient as having the games on my main menu thanks for the video !
When using the GameCube controller, you can either show the game on the gamepad or the TV or both. I believe using the gamepad to control the game, you have to have it output to both the gamepad and TV, but I'm not sure as I almost always play with a GameCube controller.
Yeah, if you convert the game to WUP with the Wii U GamePad option, it asks you when you start a game. I talk about that and even demo it running with Wii U GamePad controls at @1:30 in the video.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can do it, but it was years ago, so I'm afraid I can't help. 😅 If you get it running, let me know!
@@RGGeek Apparently you choose NOT to use the gamepad when starting a GC game. Then you pair a Wiimote and nunchuck/Wii classic controller and use that to start the game. Then disconnect the Wiimote (remove a battery). Hit a button on the Wii U Pro Controller and it should auto sync as player 1.

Yep, it's absolutely the same. Through my method, the Wii U boots up the vWii and then automatically starts the GameCube game.

You should be able to using the system's Data Management menu.
Like Eric wrote, you should be able to move them, no problem. I'm not sure of it, but don't see any reason why that wouldn't work.

Wiiu is definitely the best way to play most gamecube games
The best way is a modded GameCube, but that's a lot more expensive. 😅 Value for money, the Wii U is likely the best!

why my gc controller adapter wont work? i cant make my gc controllers works on nintendont, it just works on super smash bros from wii u, none else.
Weird. I'm using the official one from Nintendo, but I've heard other ones should work fine. Maybe you need to update Nintendont?

@@roteca I’ve personally always just left my controllers in all the time and they just worked, but maybe because I have an official Wii U GameCube adapter.
Thanks, I'll try the unplug thing. I've only tried on GamePad, since it's for the inlaws and they are usually watching TV. I want to put it on the TV once fully working for them. They don't understand how to go thru all the menus and things like that. Weird that it works on the Nintendont channel, but doesn't work for injects. They bought a steering wheel cheap somewhere (Mad Katz, for GCN, Xbox and PS2), thinking it was a plug & play device (aka not for a game system). They didn't know you needed a game disc or game system at all. The only system they have or even want is Wii U (or as they call it, Wii). So I thought I'd try and get it working on F-Zero GX and the like. I guess I can make a custom icon calling Nintendont "Driving games" if nothing else works...

Is there any way to get wiimmfi support with a Wii VC inject? I've tried teconmoon's injector and UWUVCI with my patched ISO of MKW CTGP and it will not allow me to connect to Wiimmfi to play online. I also have the DNS set up for Wiimmfi in internet connection settings. Any advice?

I didn’t do anything special, just plugged the controllers in and they all worked. I’ve played some 4-player Mario Party on the GameCube like this before.
I can't get my inject to work for some reason. I installed it on the hard drive, learned you can't do that, then installed it to a USB drive, and it's just a black screen. Any fixes for this?
I had this happen with one Wii game, which I assume means the Wii game is corrupt. Maybe try another game or another rom?
@@RGGeek Tried it with a different GC game this morning, same result. I don't know if it's something with the SD card settings (primarily because every time I open the menu for it up after saving the config file, all the settings are reset), or something else entirely.
I heard that you can only store gamecube games on the sd card. Maybe that's worth a try? Sorry if it doesn't work.

Im stuck with the same problem / or I get failed to memcard error... I buy a Wii mote and try it over vwii to be safe that the rest is setup properly
Hello. I have an odd problem. I injected about 6 GameCube games. I can launch them all in one session. Once I turn the system off and restart it, none of the GameCube games load anymore and i just get a black screen. If I delete the saves folder from the SD then i can play them again, but that doesn’t help if I can’t save them. Anyone know of a fix?
Yeah, you need to run the sig patcher after you turn on the system before you play any injected GameCube and Wii games.

@@josh6453 To my knowledge the only way to not have to patch every time is to use CBHC, but then you have a risk of bricking your Wii U if you don’t know what you’re doing. :-/

Is there an app that can inject N64 games to wii u menu? because on the teconmoon there is only option to convert wii and gc games to wup files

To my knowledge, there is no way to inject N64 games like this. It may be possible, I just personally don't know how to do it.

When using the GameCube controller, you can either show the game on the gamepad or the TV or both. I believe using the gamepad to control the game, you have to have it output to both the gamepad and TV, but I'm not sure as I almost always play with a GameCube controller.
When I start it it says boot.dol is not found. Can someone help me.
My guess is that you either don't have Nintendont installed on your SD card or you have a version that's too old.
I have the newest version of nintendont and it is installed.

Yeah, if you convert the game to WUP with the Wii U GamePad option, it asks you when you start a game. I talk about that and even demo it running with Wii U GamePad controls at @1:30 in the video.

@@RGGeek Apparently you choose NOT to use the gamepad when starting a GC game. Then you pair a Wiimote and nunchuck/Wii classic controller and use that to start the game. Then disconnect the Wiimote (remove a battery). Hit a button on the Wii U Pro Controller and it should auto sync as player 1.
