Just found your channel! Brings back memories of my ZX which went missing in the late 90's. I still have my C64 which I'm going to fire up right now and load pitfall on the tapedeck, fingers crossed it works!
Love your Videos, thanks so much for your content. Has given me confidence to repair my own. However I must say I was shocked to see the error your DMM was reporting with a low battery! Please please invest in a quality brand DMM that matches the quality of your channel. 🙏
I have a question since I only recently got in ZX Spectrum repair...partly thanks to your channel! Do you think it is wise to check all the RAM chips of a non working board on an other that works , OR is there a chance that a bad RAM can kill the rest of the RAMS on the working board?
Anything is possible. First check resistance from each power supply to ground. If that are OK then you can have more confidence they don't damage other chips
Magical Sound Shower, Outrun. A true classic, and a fantastic 1-bit rendition of it.
Very relaxing that voice of you! I will subscribe in an instant! By far my fav channel!
Thank you that's very kind

Thanks! It's definitely on the list
That Speccy was made in the mythical Caparica factory!
God that track brought back some memories
Is it worth swapping out the lower RAM 4116 chips for 4164 chips, considering they don't use various power sources?
You can do that but you need to some some pin bending which isn't too pretty
Great video. How much would you charge for a repair like this?
Drop me an email Bill. You'll find the address in the channel info
Where did you get that heat sink from? As the ones I get from CPC are not the full length of the ULA. Thanks.
You can buy them from retroleum

@@HappyLittleDiodes Thanks for your prompt response! I appreciate it!
How about adding a shunt diode for reverse polarity protection over the barrel connector?
I've never considered it or seen anybody do it, it could be possible, I'd have to study reverse polarity diodes to suss it out
@@HappyLittleDiodes I put some 1A rectifier diode for a shunt, and it seems to have worked, at least with a bench power supply.
What Voltage is the Beer?
LOL
What can I clean the interface tracks with? I don't have fiber tip pen.
Worth ordering one! Maybe a pencil eraser but start gentle and be careful
Outrun :)
No HD video? Only 360p?
It takes a while to process the HD options
And the game was 'Outrun'?
Ten points!
I don't get 10 points my only game was Manic Miner.
The only game anyone might need, it's hard enough to keep you busy
