This video is a complete joke.
Ubuntu isn’t a distro that you “probably haven’t heard of”, it’s one of the first and only distros people know.
Lots of people also know about Kali Linux but recommending it to regular users is idiotic. Regular users who are not pen testers or cybersecurity engineers have *no* use for Kali Linux and the programs it provides are pure bloat.
Elementary OS is up there with Ubuntu for being one of the more well known distros for beginners. Definitely not a distro you “probably didn’t know about”.
Slax is made for removable media. This is lesser known, but the vast majority of people aren’t looking for an OS to be run off removable media.
Manjaro, while not as well known as Ubuntu, has a bigger market share than almost every other linux distro. This isn’t a unknown distro.
OpenSUSE is also not Fedora based. It is based on Slackware, although it has evolved quite separately to Slackware. It has the RPM package manager but that was added to the distro and didn’t come from above.
This video is full of misinformation, you should do more research. Don’t pretend you know about Linux, it makes you look like a fool.
Edit: Kudos to you for actually changing the title to a less clickbaity one which actually reflects the content better.

Another excellent distro to start with is Mint with the Cinnamon desktop. The desktop is similar to the layout on Windows, so new users wen´t feel lost. I use it on a desktop PC. On a 2 year old laptop I have, I use KDE Neon, very light and fast. While not complex, KDE isn´t ideal for new Linux users because it takes a little time to configure the desktop to how you like it and you have to download almost all tghe programs you will use. Cool thing about it, it is very customizable!

    In 2024
For beginners, linux mint is the best, everything can be done with a pretty and modern gui, their cinnamon desktop is super customisable even without installing 3rd party packages.
For gaming, nobara is THE best distro, patched kernels, pre-installed graphics drivers like pop, steam, wine etc installed by default, drivers for various controllers etc also they use kde which has great multiple monitor, variable refresh rate, hdr support
    For any other use case
    Just install debian/fedora/arch
Everything mentioned above can be done with these but only thing is you have to do it manually and those are pre configured.
This is not a bad thing tho, it means you get a clean, non bloated and super stable base upon which you can build up to your liking.

OpenSuse is NOT Fedora based one bit. The only thing it shares is RPM package management. Suse forked from Slackware and has been completely its own distro developed from the ground up for several decades, now.

I am Tanay I am using a laptop which is very low end and is using windows 10 which is sucking power like the sun does in Glucon-D ads and it is making me mad everyday. The app freeze, the games cant even run even the web browsing feels slugish when switching between the web based app.
I want a easy to use Linux distribution which should be fasst and easy and also not resource heavy
    Any suggestions

All Linux distros are great. I like how they provide desktop experience which is much better for me compared to mac os and windows. One thing you will see after booting into linux is how much more responsive the system becomes. I was sold at this moment. And even mac os can't match its smoothness and responsiveness. I use Ubuntu after a lot of distro hopping because it's rock solid and but arch manjaro kubuntu kde neon and gentoo Linux are some of the distros that I tried and Ioved.

Zorin OS and Manjaro are one of the best managed Linux distros. Also elementry is for those switching to mac-themed linux. And is highly chaotic. Mint should have been included. Also Manjaro and Zorin is best for beginners.

If you want a better Ubuntu, go Pop!_OS. If you want complexity and performance go Arch or Manjaro (noob friendlier Arch). If you want THE performance, and you are experienced, go Gentoo.

Just as an FYI?....you CAN install "Elementary-tweaks" on that system, and there IS a dark mode, along with being able to customize the default fonts AND to add a minimize button! But to whit.....with the plethora of multiple desktops, and the ability to switch easily, why would a minimize button even be needed?
