  • Hi folks well last part of our weekend away glamping on the BMW R18 bagger , as it comes across in the video it's not all plain sailing on the back to the point where Faye couldn't wait to get off, although it's gotta be said a back rest would of probably made all the difference . Saying all that it was a great experience and loved every minute .

You know guys, as a 59 year old biker myself, I have to take my hat off to anyone like Faye or my own girlfriend for riding pillion, because I don't know about you Shaun, but for the life of me I can't do it myself ! I have zero trust in someone elses riding skills with me perched on the back ! 😅

I can remember when there was absolutely no one at Ribblehead. Possibly one or two cars of the people climbing Whernside at the weekends and that was it. Now Ingleton and the surrounding areas is appalling. I'm glad we moved away before it all deteriorated into a touristy nightmare.
If you want a good route in that area try Thornton-in-Lonsdale, Martin Arms - used to be a decent Pub but haven't been for 20 years, to Dent through Kingsdale following Thornton Lane. Faye may find the area around Deepdale a little challenging...

I have the Transcontinental with the high comfort seat, it raises both you and the pillion up a few cm and changes the angle of your legs, it also has a much wider and softer pillion seat than the bagger, the wife and I test rode the bagger but bought the TC because we wanted the extra pillion comfort for touring. BTW we are both in our 60’s and absolutely love the R18 TC.

Bud Light in the side cases? Did you hear about the boycott on Bud Light here in the states, for their marketing department opting to have a transvestite be the face of women for their brand? AB Bud LIght has lost 26% sales so far. - The R18 looks cool as heck, but the problem is that the massive jugs don’t give any leg room for those of us over 6’… I tried the R18 base and the R18TC but couldn’t find a comfortable position, ended up getting an Indian Challenger Dark Horse, I would definitely recommend it for power 122 hp torque 128 ft lbs, and has 3 riding modes.
