whahahhahah man I love the atmosphere and the chemistry between the two johns. so funny to see them killing it together and having a great time. even made me laugh a little:)
I have only ever skated vert twice, both times were on vacation, and I love it! Though I’m not very good at it (not that that makes my enjoyment of it any less valid) I would skate it more if there were vert ramps in my area, after all! Though almost everyone is a street skater in my area, I’ve always had a soft spot for vert and transition skating, so that’s kinda sad that they’re taking it out… Edit: W-why was that guy taking off his pants…?
weirdly enough, vert skating still is pretty popular. But most cities willing to even build a park never build one due to liability concerns, so they just make excuses not to put one in to avoid having to do it. Which is why parks built through skater requested programs, like the tony hawk foundation, and others, tend to have at least one vert ramp.
vert skating is definitely not dead, there are many many many transition contests. Either way it’s all skateboarding. But in my case I definitely push and prefer transition, which is why i am almost finished building a 22’ by 38’ 6 foot tall ramp in my backyard. Everything bigger than mini ramps go together in contests most of the time, such as vans park series, which can have a three foot transition to a 12 foot transition. Honestly it’s really whatever scene you grow up in, like John grew up street skating with his friends, but I have grown up skating ramps and a little bit of street. It’s where you come from. But yeah street parks are much more convenient for cities to build. It’s great he has respect for vert skaters tho because doing 5s and kick flip indys are just as scary as jumping down a stairset, which both I am familiar with. I can do a eggplant on a 9ft ramp and also kick flip a three block. Maybe not in NYC but most other places, transition and vert is thriving. Skating is thriving. Everything skating wise is. Which is inevitably what we want.
My town used to have a skate park that was built by the local skate shop, had a half pipe and everything. One year whilst panels had been removed in order to replace them the local council condemned and destroyed the park. Eventually a more generic kid friendly park was built, about 15 years later. 5:23 I love the way you shake your arms lol
something interesting that I just realized is that I feel like John's videos now instead of his old normal vlogs they are now just behind the scene videos of how he gets his Instagram story videos and I love that
Just started skating and I love just doing clean lines in the bowl, just pumping up and gaining speed and going up and down. I think I’d love vert skating I just gotta get better.
whahahhahah man I love the atmosphere and the chemistry between the two johns. so funny to see them killing it together and having a great time. even made me laugh a little:)
Bro I’m hype I did my first ollies today!!
It is always a pleasure to see you skate, John.
I love it how you are chilling with a scooter driver
I’m still practicing with my penny board for cruising what skateboard do you recommend for a beginner for tricks
Okay uh fun fact, Where I live the pavemants are SHIT so it'd be a miracle to find a smooth pavement that won't make you fall and DIE 😔
It looks so fun Skating in NY but I live in Wisconsin and it sucks here
The best thing is set you teamed up with a random scooter dude! We need that, less hate... 😅
I love it when my local skatepark makes such process
i love the way you guys break the skateboard and scooter steriotype
I have only ever skated vert twice, both times were on vacation, and I love it!
Though I’m not very good at it (not that that makes my enjoyment of it any less valid) I would skate it more if there were vert ramps in my area, after all! Though almost everyone is a street skater in my area, I’ve always had a soft spot for vert and transition skating, so that’s kinda sad that they’re taking it out…
Edit: W-why was that guy taking off his pants…?
My parents took my friend and I to riverside probably 20 years ago and the vert ramp was chained then too.
weirdly enough, vert skating still is pretty popular. But most cities willing to even build a park never build one due to liability concerns, so they just make excuses not to put one in to avoid having to do it. Which is why parks built through skater requested programs, like the tony hawk foundation, and others, tend to have at least one vert ramp.
I LOVE THE SMILES IN PEOPLES FACES WHEN THEY WALK BY
vert skating is definitely not dead, there are many many many transition contests.
But still. Feckless
