  • Picked up an older 7000lb heavy duty version. Here’s a quick video to show you how easy it is to put the car on it. Drove the car up with the automatic transmission and did a complete 4spd swap with it on this lift.

Caused 4k in damage to the bottom and front of his vehicle. That's why he gave it to me for free. Great lift just be careful.

      It’s actually pretty decent. A lot safer than jackstands and goes higher. Not high enough to sit under it but plenty high enough to work under. I actually did an entire transmission and rear end swap with this lift using the center bridge jack to support the rear of the car without the rear diff and suspension in it.

      It takes up space but I don’t use that bay for anything else but that car. So when the ramp isn’t up, I set it flat on the ground and just park on top of it. Doesn’t take up anymore space than the footprint of the car. Plus it’s nice to be able to just lift it up quickly without having to mess with my jack stands.

    • @justcallthepros
      @justcallthepros  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can. This video was actually me putting the car on the lift with an automatic transmission and I converted it to a 4spd over that winter. Trans came out with no issues whatsoever and lots of room. It was actually a little higher than needed for that swap cause I actually had to put a milk crate on the jack to go high enough to reach the trans in the car. you can't pull the jack out with the trans on it under the ramp but if you pull the trans off the jack, it will slide out under the ramps with no issues at all

      For quick things it’s ok and your arms don’t get tired. Lots of room. Great for welding my subframe connectors. I do realize that doing my trans swap, that it’s a little higher for the jack so need to make an adapter to reach it. I do like that I can use the jack and actually lift it up another 16” off the ramp. Then I can basically sit up underneath it.

    • @justcallthepros
      @justcallthepros  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It definitely feels safe. It’s solid and very heavy duty. There is no movement when the car is on it. You can really shake the car and it doesn’t budge. The footprint of the legs is very big. You could leave it tilted down if you want and use it as a ramp but I pull the car off it, pull the front pins and drop the ramp from the front stands so it’s flat on the ground and just drive the car on the ramps flat. Then when I want to use the lift, I drive the car off it, raise the front ramps and secure into the front stands then drive the car back up it and raise the rear.

    Doesn't use the parking brake, chocks one rear wheel when the weight of the vehicle is the front, and this system does not allow under-side access because the ramps are in the way. uhmmmm, I will pass. One could use conventional ramps at the front and use the floor jack under the differential (for this car) and use wood blocking under the rear tires. A few 2x4s would build a couple of light and fail-safe blocks and storage would be simpler.

    • @justcallthepros
      @justcallthepros  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Appreciate the comment and so you know, I did set the parking brake. As for the weight of the car, you are correct that it’s at the front but the ramp is actually inclined toward the rear so the car would want to roll back before anything. As for the underside, there is a lot of room and I actually did an entire transmission swap and converted this car to a 4spd in addition to using the center bridge jack and raising the rear of the car off the ramps and swapping out the entire rear diff and suspension. Over the summer, the whole thing lays flat on the ground and I just park on it. It’s actually very handy and I trust it way more than jack stands or single wheel ramps.

    • @ya472
      @ya472 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@justcallthepros Perhaps you should watch the video, and you did not set the brake before exiting. I meant, if you are going to chock a tire, it would have been safer to chock the REAR of the front tire, than the rear of ONE REAR tire. lol As for the underside, you do you. lol I still pass.

    • @justcallthepros
      @justcallthepros  ปีที่แล้ว

      @ya472 I see what you mean. Yes you are correct, I put it in park and let it roll back on the parking pin. I did end up chocking the front and back of one of the front tires and did set the brake but it was after the fact.
