You're definitely part of the cult now... Doomed to only watch the game on other channels for eternity, since it is impossible to live the experience again! I've been asking my brother to play the game for years now, and even thought (just like your friend) that the best way for that is to buy it for him. He's been making excuses but, one day, he will join the cult too!
When you say at the start "don't worry, I've got the recording of when I first saw the Sun thing", that was what made me stick around and watch the whole playlist. It's not even the reaction itself, it was how surprisingly honest and in tune you were with what the people want :D And you didn't even know what kind of a cult following this game has, it was purely instinctual which is what surprised me. I'm so glad TH-cam recommended the first episode to me!
Honestly it's because after it happened, my friend Jo was like "I couldn't wait to see your reaction to it" so I was like oh okay, so that's like a big thing! I knew that playing the full game, it's something people would really wanna see (and because I myself was so shocked when it happened) I only wish it could have been in the Lets Play itself but ah well! now I know to go into new games completely blind! I'm glad it's how you found me! thankful for every person the algorithm is nice enough to bring to my channel
11:00 I absolutely love this game for a LOT of reasons, but the humor and character in the dialogue is one of the biggest reasons why. From the extremely over-specific qualifiers on things like "The first Hearthian INTENTIONALLY launched into space," to the Nomai's nerdy humor, it really makes all of the characters (even the ones we never meet) feel real and fleshed out.
Still haven't played this one but it's on the 'soon(tm)' list. Wanne go in without spoilers so can't watch your vid just yet. Thumbs up nonetheless, I know you won't disappoint. Actually.. I'd probably gonne watch the full playthrough. Want to see it all :)
Thank you! 😄 I think this is definitely one that's worth watching in full! once you've played it of course! would love to hear what you thought of the game once you do!
@@McBehrer Ugh.. has it been four months already?? Still no, but it is on the short list, after finishing The Medium and Cult of the Lamb. Both about 2/3rd into the story.
Wow I've watched a lot of playthroughs and this is the first time ive ever seen someone use the scout in that manner while at the quantum shrine! Never occurred to me you could see the sixth location before getting there.
@@LukaelPlays I can't decide if it's better to be teased with the picture of a living Nomai before being able to reach them or not! Still, neat that you can!
@@LukaelPlays I had a goofy use of the scout too. Wasn't sure of the timing on a certain warp platform, so I put the scout on it and waited. You can actually see the warp gate appear when the warp is active, provided there's something for it to warp... and the scout counts! It was a fun little experiment that showed exactly when I needed to step on the platform. ::)
Your and Neoxie's playthroughs of this game are two of the most observant playthroughs I've seen. It's truly astounding how many things you noticed just in the first loop with nothing more than observation, things that most people never realize until they find dialogue explaining them much later.
I came here only to leave quite the same comment. I'm just on the second loop and that's crazy to me, how he pays attention to literally everything and comes up with pretty accurate theories on the spot
@@RDR911 I'm talking about figuring out the facts of what happened in the past and putting them all together into a coherent narrative. The ending is quite abstract and open to interpretation, so I don't think confusion during this section invalidates anything I've said.
Unfortunately, I cannot watch this for now. I haven't played the game yet but you, along with the Steam reviews, convinced me to try it out. I'll come back at a later time :)
I'm watching this now, only about 20 minutes in, and just wanted to say: you did just a great job with this supercut! This is awesome! Perfectly captures the sense of wonder :D I love hearing all your theories again :D
I've fallen in love with Outer Wilds about 2 years ago, and I still go searching for new playthrough videos to see others experience this amazing game. I love watching you figure out the story step by step. Those lightbulb moments where something just clicked were hilarious. My favorite part though was when you mentioned that you wanted to give the Nomai people a funeral/burial. You are the first to mention it and it made me so happy yet sad. Great video!
Outer Wilds is honestly one of those games that you can only experience once and I think that's what makes it truly beautiful, certainly my favorite game of all time so far and I don't think whether anything else can ever top it for me.
You have a good friend ::) This is a journey I think everyone should take. It's just so moving, it had me in tears by the end, and every subsequent time I hear the end credits music.
I was actually going to watch your playthrough series, but I like the supercut format so I was waiting to see if Eelis would make one for you. I'm glad to see you made one for yourself ! PS : Welcome to the cult brother.
Watching playthroughs of this game is a pass time for many an Outer Wilds player. Getting to relive this experience through another person is the closest thing we can ever get to playing it again. Your playthrough stands as one of my favourites (@MadMattLugos being another). It is truly is a special game and is one of, if not my greatest gaming experience, so thank you for sharing it. Your playthrough also led me to enjoy some of your other playthroughs such as Firewatch. I hope to see more story based games from you in the future. If I may be so bold as to suggest 'What Remains of Edith Finch'.

@@LukaelPlays I see. Well, even if it wasnt, im glad that this was the detail they addressed in dlc, answering the question why not only Nomai werent able to find the signal again, but also why u cant pinpoint its location when u literally standing on the Eye.
I don't think being unable to pinpoint your location has to do with the Stranger's device blocking out its signal, because the same happens while you're on the Quantum Moon. I think it's just because of the quantum nature of it, the satellite can't pinpoint where you are because you're technically many places at once
@@LukaelPlays on Quantum Moon you are many places at once, yes, but if Eye itself were in superposition, then you wouldn't be able to reach it with just a single set of coordinates, and i doubt a signal blocker could block it that way. So i think signal blocker is the reason

Instead of giving me advice to enjoy the game, people got defensive and insulting so I hated the game even more. I will always remember Outer wilds as one of my biggest disappointments as a gamer.
Aaaah that's really unfortunate that you had this experience... People should have tried to be more helpful with you! it surprises me because OW fans are typically quite nice and welcoming... I hope at least you can get some enjoyment from watching others playthroughs but it's never quite the same
It’s not for everyone. You say you didn’t feel like solving the puzzles and that just sounds like a taste thing in games.
