Poor thing. She wanted power, she wanted control. She didn't realize all she needed was the love that people around her would freely give. She was always a hero, she just couldn't see it from how low her self esteem was standing.
I was always confused by She_Thing , I was even more confused when I found out her name was Ms Marvel , and then I was confused even more when I found out she wasn't Carol Danvers. Thanks for making this as it stops years of confusion.
No confusion. Monica Rambeau was actually the first female hero to have the Captain Marvel moniker in the comics, Carol Danvers was always Ms Marvel. I still have the Fantastic Four issues where Sharon Ventura became a member as the new Ms Marvel.
One of my favorite lost characters from the 1980s. Glad to see her get some love here. I have always loved her original costume. The cover to the issue of The Thing where it reads "Introducing the NEW Ms. Marvel" is one of my favorite covers ever. Any chance we can get a video covering D-Man? or maybe Battlestar (Lemar Hoskins) ? seeing them in this video piqued my interest in them getting their own videos. .

My FAVORITE Sharon Ventura moment was when she had been mutated similarly to Ben Grimm. She started a ruckus in the middle of a court case where Ben was on trial and a bystander looked at her and said “Isn’t that Ms. Thing?” I was laughing for 10 minutes!
I really enjoy the character of Sharon Ventura. Somebody needs to bring her back. They could give her a color variation of her original costume, and call her the "American Amazon." There's so many great characters in Marvel Comics that have gotten lost over the years.

😍Love Redheads and a few months ago discovered Sharon Ventura , making her my #1 Ms Marvel! Now after seeing this history on her my mission is to put together a library of her adventures.
Thanks MerrMarvelite for bringing Sharon Ventura to the light. I knew this character from late 80's as MsThing when only 3 characters in th Fantastic Four. You told the whole story from beginning to end. Do you know how many comics that took ? Maybe 300 or more . Plus she is my favorite character next to Ms Invisible Woman and Captain Marvel on the 1980's Avengers. Thanks again and I'm forever grateful.
This would have been a great resource when I was writing my submission for the Unofficial Canon Project in Project Road Trip. It basically takes an area not explored in the comics in depth, and suggests potential story hooks for the roleplaying game. [Marvel Super Heroes Advanced Set, that is. Not the recent playtest.] I had different options in case the players were solo or in a group, different power levels, etc. I had a scenario with Mysterio staging a kidnapping with the assistance of the Frightful Four, and I included Sandman and Ms. Marvel II in the lineup. Glad to know that it matched up.
That particular Thing series (the 1st actually) is a real underrated gem. The entire series with the possible exception of the final issue was great. A few other heroes also originally got their powers from the power broker (U.S. Agent & Battlestar). Another great video. I'd love to see a Battlestar video as he never gets any love. Also Jinx from the original Darkhold series would be nice. Thank again for the great work .
Power Broker Process is pretty interesting to me. It's got a 50-50 chance to wind up "stronger than Spider Man" (We all know Pete's got a heroism bonus in times of extreme need and goes well above his listed 10-25 tons even not counting that time an artist didn't realize a subway car was SIXTY tons and had him casually tossing one around like it was only a Bus.) But you'd think they could just genetically screen people for compatibility rather than YOLO it and have to take care of a bunch of super-strong mutated freaks.
Sharon Ventura also appeared in Civil War:Frontline as a member of Captain America’s Resistance in human form as well. I think it depends on the writers using Ms.Marvel/Sharon at the time (which have been Paul Jenkins for CW:FL, and Nick Spencer for that Sam Wilson Captain America that Unlimited Class Wrestling was used)
This version of She Thing/Mis Marvel could be someone to enter the MCU but the original version or possibly slightly different version and it would be interesting to discover whether she has similar origins or perhaps something alien origins or the other the Power Brokers have a Hydra connection and In turn alien as well could be explored and one thing in this story is her father did he fake his death or did his name have another connection to the weapon X project or something similar I am sure his name has appeared before this story happened?
It's amazing how very good the artwork in comics was for a time. Incredible detail and realistic anatomy along with intricate backgrounds. The move toward abstract and childish cartoon drawing is part of the reason I stopped buying them. It's like watching the rise and fall of a civilization.
It's really annoying that The Thing's first mutation in the final issues of his own title was resolved off panel. And Sharon Ventura really should have gotten some therapy after her assault by the Power Broker's men. Also I hope Marvel Legends eventually makes toys out of Ben's spiked form and both of Sharon's Ms. Marvel forms
I don't think he made a mistake. I believe he's going to play the male version of the character "Aunty Freeze." Someone strongly connected to "The Power Broker and the inventor of the ORIGINAL Ms Marvel (Sharon Ventura). Mutans were genetically created by the power broker in that reality.

Apparently, Sharon is much more dextrous in her human form, but in She Thing form, she's even MORE of a brick and her intelligence seems to increase to genius levels. She's also got lots of mundane skills, like gymnast, wrestler, motorcycle stunt rider, scuba and skydiver, mountain climber, stuntwoman, and Tae Kwon Do and American boxing. Oh, and her senses and ability to hold her breath are greatly extended in her She Thing form.
I imagine in a different dimension, this classic version of (MS. MARVEL) aka (Sharon Ventura) exists in it, and I imagine it might be in the EARTH-6 Realm, or it might be in the EARTH-60 Realm.

This is the Ms. Marvel they should have done the TV series on. Sharon on the run from the Power Broker's goons (especially the Grappler).
It’s kind of strange that Kamala hasn’t met Sharon, Mystique, Rogue or anyone else that’s notably a part of the Ms. Marvel legacy.
I don't think Sharon has shown up since Secret Wars, which would mean her fate is still up in the air.

As a kid, this always confused me because Sharon Ventura looks so similar to Carol Danvers. I also often think of Captain Marvel as Monica Rambeau

It would seem that Sharon was created just to pretty much be tormented throughout the character's history. She just could never catch a break.
Last I heard she was turned into a more hideous she thing by Doom and then basically forgotten. The fantastic four abandoned her.

In the New Fantastic four, with Ant-Man and Medusa, there was a Ms. Thing she wore that suit that Ben did when he had no powers.
I’m thinking she somehow discovered how to transform between her rocky and normal form.
