Wow! nothing more can be said! this lesson takes me back to the HOF legendary tennis Coaches and their teaching brilliance! Thanks Coach Meike 🙏👍 absolutely gold
At 4:15 my first guess here was already that the right one was going to be the kick, based on his stance. He is a bit more turned as you can see his right foot is a bit further back and his upper body a bit more rotated.
Good video. My problem with the kick is that I don’t come towards the ball on edge and then do the left right motion. It’s more a stay side ways approach with the racquet. I still get clearance and the feeling of brushing. One guy I played recently, the ball kicked so high it hit him in the face! 😅. I do struggle with the pace and sometimes it doesn’t go over the net via this way. Any suggestions and tips?
Hi. Great video. Can you please talk about having a consistent toss? This might be a video by himself but the toss is one of my biggest challenge. The serve is "hard" enough without me tossing the ball all over 😉
U also forgot to mention the other topic with the grip. I was taught serving a kick with an eastern grip and Venus Williams YT has her explaining she serves with an eastern grip as well. I see newer “modern” tennis videos telling us to use continental.
My big takeaway from this is at the end where you say we're "Rolling over and forwards NOT brushing parallel to the baseline". I've heard it preached so many times about the swing path of the kick serve being parallel to the baseline by coaches and it's just not.
Agree with everything other than J toss. You can still J toss with out breaking the line of the baseline. You actually J tossed when you demo’d. You CAN toss straight out and THEN turn though as well. Great tips otherwise!
very nice video! meike, i have a question: how about choking up a bit the racket not only for the practice, but also for the "real Serve"?? i ask because it seems to me that the whole movement and racket swing appears so much easier with the grip choked up a bit. ( btw i have seen karen khachanov choking up his grip extremly for some strokes, especially the backhand)

Simplified demonstration of the swing right at the end was great!👍
The mythbusters of the kick serve. Well done!

What is worse than a wrong tip? A wronger tip :)
YOU aren’t “you and me people”. If you are, I have no clue how bad I am.
