All I can say is ELECTRIFYING! How can you not start moving and dancing! Roy's playing can raise the dead and deaf! Love this guy and his band. Found out that amazing drummer is Billie Lee Lewis.
I seen Roy Rogers at the HOWARD STREET TAVERN IN OMAHA NEBRASKA. I STARTED COVERING A BUNCH OF HIS SONG'S AFTER GOING TO THE HOWARD STREET TAVERN TWICE AND MONDAY I WENT TO THE ZOO IN LINCOLN NEBRASKA. I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIS FANTASTIC CHOPS NOT CHAPS.. ALONG WITH NORTON BUFFALO ON HARMONICA IS DEFINITELY SOME OF THE BEST MUSIC I'VE EVER HEARD ROY WAS SOLO THE NIGHT'S I SEEN HIM.. NO COMPLAINTS HERE BROTHERS AND SISTERS
I was lucky to have seen these guys last year in a small venue. All I can say about Roy Rogers is that he is as close to lightning in a bottle as it gets. I swear he is sliding out new notes before you digest those before.

Are there actually words to describe SUCH AMAZING, TALENT!! Each of these musicians are at the TOP OF THERE CLASS - Better yet - THERE ARE NO CLASSES!! BAR IS TO HIGH!!
Saw Roy and also Ron Thompson and the Resisters at the Mississippi Valley Blues Fest, Davenport, Iowa around '85, '86, something like that. Roy was phenomenal. After the fest, Thompson went across the river to Rock Island and played a couple of sets outside a bar. Great night!

Roy Rogers actually worked and played with John Lee Hooker for a while, apparently John Lee thought that Roy was quite alright. Blues ain't supposed to be static, things are allowed to change and people should get to put their own spin on it. If you got a problem with that, you can take it up with John Lee himself!
