Thank you thank you thank you!!! This worked on my Samsung 520QAB-K02, and in fact the keys intermittent fail were in a vertical line (the tell for sure!) starting with "a" then soon after it was "z", "q", "1" and then last was "ESC". My ribbon cable was slightly different than shown, and I used electronics cleaner spray. It is working now and at the very least I have confirmed the problem area. Good job.
A good video, but you don't want to touch the ribbon cable connections with your fingers as you have natural oils on your skin which will potentially make the connections worse. The best thing is to wipe the connections with isopropyl alcohol applied to a clean tissue to remove any oils/contaminants from the ribbon connector, then without touching the electrical connections plug it back in.
Is there a way of fixing it without opening the laptop? Cause I was cleaning my laptop and all of a sudden this happens i cant type five four or the dash
You may try to tap gently on the back of the laptop, reboot, and see if that works.. if not, you have to go thru these steps if you are comfortable opening it.
My problem is the A button. When typing normally it will not appear but if I apply more pressure it will. It really throws off the flow of my writing. I tried removing & reattaching the key and holding apparatus underneath to no effect. Could this method solve my problem?
Worth a try.. As you mentioned you did reattached the key also, I would do the same.. if still doesn't work, might need to replace the keyboard.. good luck
Hey, I have an Asus Chromebook, and my a s d f j k l ; and enter keys aren't working, do you know if this method would work for that. I really don't want to mess up my computer.
So I did this and it worked at first, originally almost all the keys on the right side of the keyboard weren’t working. So I did this and then the top right were working. So i tried to adjust it some more but it didn’t do anything.
I've got a 14inch hp Chromebook, I got years ago, and mines doesn't come apart like that as it seems like there are things attaching to the back. Any ideas?
i followed this. i successfully opened my laptop. now i realized that the problem was there was a loose screw that apparently cut the connection to the jkl, and i am hopeless
2 year old tutorial yet still so helpful! Thanks a lot🎉😊

Good suggestion. Thank you!
Also, breathing contains contaminants and you should wear a mask.
@@noahway13 what?
@@noahway13 and farting may also contaminate the keyboard. The crap that people come up with.
