I have tried kebab plate and kebab pizza in many different places in Sweden but the sauces in some places are much better when they are made from scratch
You can make garlic sauce by 2 parts turkish yoghurt, 1 part mayonnaise, good amount of garlic, dried is fine, and salt/pepper. On top of that I sometimes add tomato paste, dijon mustard, white wine vinegar and maybe some herbs.. that will make it more into a kebab sauce.
I'm definitely going to have to visit Sweden ... I've never seen pizzas like this 😉. I know what a kebab, french fries (or chips as we call them here in South Africa), coleslaw and a regular pizza looks like ... but I've never seen it all together on one plate and on one pizza! And the sauce - looks almost like tzatziki sauce that you eat with kebab ... I like that sauce (when it's made with cucumber, dill and garlic). Ah Dan, you know what I'm going to ask you: Where's the pineapple on the pizza 🍍🍍🍕🍕!!
Dan promise to eat pineapple if you serve him a good dinner if we ever come to South Africa 😂 It’s not coleslaw it’s pizza salad, white cabbage with oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and oregano. Delicious 😋
When pizza became a thing in Sweden, it was seen as unhealthy. The politicians didn't want to force a change of the content so they had media "explain" that you need a salad with your pizza. The result is what we nowadays call 'pizza salad'. It's likely the cheapest salad you can make and it doesn't contain much nutrition, but it is salad. Personally, I put it on the pizza to add some crunch and freshness.
I would rather say that Pizzeria Bibblos in Huskvarna has the best kebab souce. They have even won prices for it. And their pizzasallad is very good too
In Stockholm it is usually the white sauce garlic/yoghurt and strong chilli/tomato sauce, both sauces are key on a kebab. Some other places in Sweden have that pink style abomination of a kebab sauce... hehe Have not been there for probably 10 years but Pizzeria Oden in Västerhaninge used to have the best kebab back in the day. And I dont say that lightly, best kebabtallrik I have ever had, ever. Dont know how it is today though.
A lot of places are getting very stingy with their sauces for both kebabas and kebab pizza. I always want garlic sauce and separate hot tomato sauce. If I ask for both sauces, they give me one small container with the white sauce and tomato sauce mixed. It is not nearly as good as the separate sauces. I avoid those places because that is what makes things delicious.
Looks good. Getting hungry. Im more into "kebab rulle" though. Every new place I'm in I always go and order a kebab-rulle to find out how the kebab and sauce is. I like the "long" type of kebab (Döner), but the best kebab meat (IMHO) is kebab flawored propper grilled thinly cut beef skews (doesnt find it often though). My favorite kebab sauce is the hot tomato based Kebab-sauce. I dont realy know where it is common, but you can find it in Nyköping in some places, and around Arboga, Örebro. It feels more fresh and healthy, then eating the white/pink variants. But thats just my own taste. ;) Cheers.
One thing Italy and Sweden have in common is that they both use potato as a pizza topping. Personally, I'm not a fan of starch on starch. Will we soon see pizzas topped will rice?
I have never liked this pizza. I cannot understand why people choose to eat this crap. The fries on top is the worst. I'm not saying it's gross, I'm just saying there are so many better options
@@dananna8614A kebabpizza with sallad on it is called ”Viking” and if it’s got fries on it it’s ”V70” usually… But I guess there are derivatives depending on where you buy it. Southern Sweden tend to use Gyros instead if Döner meat. Which I miss.
What you got there is probably what sweeds calls mild sauce.. I usually takes mild sauce and spicy sauce mixed on my kebab..
Maybe so but we are not use to this sauce from our part of Sweden. Different parts of Sweden different sauces 😄
It's probably garlic sauce not kebab sauce. Kebab sauce is red.
I go with a mix of spicy and garlic sauce.

Pineapple + Kebab is a great combo on pizza. White sauce is usually garlic, no cucumber and the red sauce is chili.

On a kebab pizza should be cheese and tomato sauce (ofc), kebab meat, onions, mushrooms, fresh garlic
Sounds great! 👍
haha.. You need to try the "Rullpizza" thats popular in Umeå.. So a kebab pizza roll. for example :D
