A funny thing I often hear is that this is hard to find in the States, but I've never had trouble finding it in Ireland! It's a reliable bourbon, easy to drink, and since it's affordable (here at least), I don't feel guilty using it in a cocktail from time to time.
Hard to find in Illinois. I paid $50 for my bottle. I really liked it and not bummed that I paid $50 but! I won’t pay that again. Perhaps I’ll find it in my travels for $35 and buy a backup bottle. Side note I’m working from home today and my wife had the day off. Busy day but of course she walked in just as I was typing this comment so now I looked like I’m never busy 🤦🏻♂️😬. Cheers 🤙🥃
The last ER 10 I drank was a lot better then a C, however keep in mind this is a single barrel offering so there will be a pretty big difference bottle to bottle. You can thank the Lumber lobby for American Bourbon rules. New oak casks only and no color, that was mostly the Lumber lobby's doing. Strange but true.
Eagle Rare has switched to being a small batch product in recent years. However there are retail store pick selections that are still single barrel sometimes available.
100% agree with you on the taste. I find it a bit bland. Seen some stores in the U.S sell it for 100+ a bottle. Not worth the secondary prices and would never pay more then 40 for a bottle
I think Bourbon suffers in flavour if it drops below 53% or 54% abv. This is not a bad bourbon by any means . But it leaves you with a feeling of wanting for more. That to me is a sign that it didn’t do the job well.
A real easy-sipping Bourbon, thankfully often found on offer. Cheers.
Yup fairly easy
I tried Eagle Rare, once, and I liked it.
I'm glad you did

I'm going to be using it cocktail myself tbh
So far my favorite bourbon and the one that really changed my mind about it.
Nice one!

I actually don't mind the rule that much - especially the no color rule
@@MaltActivist I don't mind it either, I was just telling you the origins. You asked, in the video.

@@javieracosta3439 Damn, I forgot about that. I always think about it as a single barrel. You are correct, thanks for the correct info.
Thank you
You're welcome
Personally not much of a Bourbon fan, but Eagle Rare 10yo and 17yo are really superb.
17 is definitely awesome

Definitely not worth more than 40$ ish
Don't think its a satisfying Bourbon. Thank you, MA, for the contribution.
Not really, Krish.

@@krishnar3493 I'm with you on that. I dont think I've really like any bourbon under 50%
