Few people remembered the Jamaica home. In the early 80's, Johnny and his family were enjoying Christmas dinner in the dining area of the house and some robbers came in and demanded money, jewelry, whatever they could find. The Cash family was in danger of losing their lives. The men were caught, and all died while in custody. Johnny's response was one of forgiveness. Look it up, the story itself is inspiring, It just shows what a great man Johnny Cash was!

Died while in custody: hmmm.....a tad strange perhaps....! But glad they were caught!

    • @joeyrobison6629
      @joeyrobison6629 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@redsloane879 I thought it was strange as well. I think the Jamaican authorities wanted this swept under the rug for fear this would affect tourism there.

My senior year in highschool I had to read a biography about someone famous and write an excerpt and I chose Johnny Cash and I ended up reading a book about his life and it included the robbery in pretty great detail and other major events in his life such as his brother Jack and how he was consumed by his addiction to pills, I wish I could remember the name of the book it was an autobiography written by Johnny Cash.

He wrote about that incident in his book Cash, his autobiography that was publish in 1997. He was very upset that those men all died while in custody too. The whole book was wonderful. I loved both Man in Black and the Cash books so much. Wish I still had them. Haven't gotten my hands on the Man in White book yet, but would sure love to read it someday tho.

The carved face on top of the piece of furniture that belonged to Johnny and June is actually the face of The Old North Wind. It was a hand carved piece. Very Rare!!!! It appears at 20:03 in the vlog. The piece of furniture is a heavily carved English oak that is quite possibility over 200 years old. Thanks Jordan for vlogging the entire Museum. Most people would love the guitars and amps. I loved the furniture! I think it is incredible that Barry Gibb gave the stone wall from the house to reproduce the backdrop for the furniture!

**BRILLIANT VID JORDAN! LOVE IT!** 💯👍🎶🎤👏 What a way to kick start my weekend! I'm totally in 7th heaven with this vlog. As much as I've been an Elvis fan since in my Mom's womb. My family has generations of Musicians. And they got me into Johnny Cash & Patsy Cline, from a very young age. 2 things I definitely share in common with Johnny: All black wardrobe & being a Rebel ☠ Going through this, it amazes me. How JC came from such poverty. And made himself into such a success. Such a sheer inspiration. And what a love story for the ages. That Johnny & June had. Of coarse it wasn't always smooth sailing. But what I wouldn't give to find my main man. Of coarse Patsy was such a phenomenally talented gal. I've promoted & supported alot of Rockabilly Musician's through the decades. Proud to call some of them my close friends. And the majority of them all credit both JC & PC as influences. I've cued up here on TH-cam now. A bunch of JC Docs, Performances & last interviews. I still ball my eyes out watching the video for or hearing the song: "Hurt". **HUGE THANKS 4 POSTING ALL THESE NEW VIDS. YOU'LL REALLY DESERVE YOUR TIME OFF. REST WELL 🛏 & HOWDEE/HUGZ 2 THE JAHSTER 🐶🐕**

There was a little diner down the block and us kids would go to for a side of french fries or a coke. They had those table top jukebox selectors. Johnny Cash records were always playing. Folsom Prison Blues and Ring of Fire. I still know the words. Good times....

I agree. I don't understand that policy at all.. You are definitely correct. I was having a lot of trouble getting the camera to focus to even take many of the pictures because of the glass and lighting they used, so I was definitely holding people up just trying to get one photo

Again, another treat. I love seeing all Johnny's memorabilia. My folks purchased an old blonde record player when i was 8 or 9 and and my older brother saved his money from bagging groceries to buy Ring of Fire and Folsom Prison. We listened everyday after school. Later on, I was inspired by Mother Maybelle and picked up the autoharp and have played it for about 40 years. Thank you for another great vlog that has brought back tons of memories.

Was just there yesterday and I’m glad I found your video so that I could look through it all a second time! - The museum was great. The space is smaller than you would imagine, but they really filled it pretty well. The Johnny Cash restaurant/bar and the cafe right next to it were real cool. They played a little movie on loop in one section where they showed scenes and features of when he was involved in film. The Hurt music video at the end was heartbreaking and showed just how impactful of a human he was to the world. Such a beautiful visit.

Brilliant vlog! The thing I love about Cash was that even in the height of his fame , he always seemed to stay grounded as a common every day man.. When he and Waylon shared an apartment together back in the day, they used to hide their party supplies from each other, behind picture frames, in the back of the tv set... Y'know, as roomates will do, i suppose
.lol... Out of everything though, I think the most important thing that stands out about John, was his love for June. That is how a man should love his wife. When asked about what he considered paradise, he said, " Coffee with her".. amazing. Thank you brother, for an incredible vlog on an extraordinary man.. Have a great day!

What separates “just another TH-camr” from great vloggers like you Jordan? No matter what you vlog, it’s always awesome and I get drawn right in. Sure, I recognize the impact that Johnny has had on society and culture, and sure, there are a few of his songs I like, but I’m not a big fan. It doesn’t matter though. Your vlogs are great and I get so much out of them. Awesome! Thanks Jordan!

Johnny Cash is one of my favorite singers. Such a wonderful job tracing his life and career. The objects in the museum show the story of his life. “Hurt” is beyond amazing. It was incredible to actually get to see the chair from the music video. I think June Carter Cash really completed him. Seeing the words he actually spoke at her funeral was so moving. There will never be another Johnny Cash. Thank you so much Jordan. Wonderful photography and narration.

Someone has probably mentioned this, but Merle Haggard was not in San Quentin during Cash's recording the album in 1969. He was already a star by then. He was in San Quentin when Cash played there in 1957-58 though.

In Air Force stationed in Germany as radio operator/radar/ guy, Johnny was first to report Russians went supersonic jet powered air planes. The streaked across radar screen way faster than propeller craft.

Love the vlog! Nine Inch Nails said Johnny did it better than them. Love seeing all the personal stuff. Johnny and June were a true love story in front of the whole world. There is not enough words. Thank you Jordan. This is priceless, it's golden.

The small Texas town I live in is where Johnny Cash wrote “I Walk the Line”
Also, Elvis spent a fair share of time here at the legendary KSIJ radio studio, the old high school, and the old Mint Club
