    Really loved this one Jordan. When I was a kid, when we had three TV stations and no computers or internet, I was obsessed for years with the old cowboy magazines like "True West." I loved reading about those times of Jesse James James and Doc Holliday and Annie Oakley and Calamity Jane , and old mining towns. 👍👍

    Of course, ALL of ur videos are awesome....but this video, is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! To see all of these original pieces/photos/furniture/the home & land etc....knowing that Jesse and his family walked there and touched all of those things and I'm sure they had made some wonderful memories there!! Just such an incredible piece of history to still be able to see!!!
    **Thank you so much for making this video!!! 💜

    WOW! The artifacts and personal belonging's they have in there blew my mind!!! If you looked close at that Winchester forearm you could see the very darkened wood from oils in his hand where he held it when shooting...amazing! Ive heard his mom sold that stuff...stones etc,, did tours and all just to get by....she had no income and had to do whatever she had to, to get by. Thanks for this Jordan...it was great!

    Great video, i too love it when some of the original building work is left as it is, hate when things are restored to how they would have looked as thats not the same material then. Love seeing all the artifacts and jesses boots, i found out recently that the casket he was first put in still survives too. Only slight niggle i have is about the picture he was dusting being the original as thats what they say in the james home too so they cant both be. Thanks for the upload, glad the dog enjoyed his sleep.

    Hi Jordan , I am a little late to the party but you mentioned Jessie James mom, Zerelda sold rocks from his grave . I remember in a book years ago ,she did this because people had come & broken bits off the headstone, so when she had to pay to replace it she sold rocks . I think perhaps the first were broken bits of the original head stone until they all sold out. They were later replaced by other stones.

    Oh my goodness… I work at the James Farm and I am so sorry I wasn’t there the day you were! I would love to have met you! I watch your channel all the time…
    Also, in your video you were asking why Jesse James wife and mother were both named Zerelda… that was because Jesse married his first cousin, who was named after his mother… It was common back then to marry your cousin!
    Also… You were asking where the Reverend Robert James was buried… As a Baptist minister, he had gone out to California to preach to the miners and caught cholera and died… he is buried in a mass grave near Placerville, California.

    Jordan - fascinating video. That collection was incredible and so well detailed and labeled. I thought the same about the Mother's/wife's names. What are the odds? That's got to be a mistake, right? I'd never even heard that name before. Does anyone know any details about this? Thanks for a great video. Add this to one of your "gem of a video" collection. Have a great day. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵

    • @lindabrookshier7259
      @lindabrookshier7259 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Judith… I actually work at the James Farm and can tell you that the reason Jesse’s wife and mother share the same unique name is because he married his first cousin! She was named after her aunt Zerelda! This is probably one of the most common questions we get on tours!

    • @judithmitchell4667
      @judithmitchell4667 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lindabrookshier7259 Wow. I never thought of that. I do the family history and always get stuck when I see several family members with the same name. My current conundrum is two different men, same uncommon first name "Fisher", both married to a Nancy, same amount of kids, genders and close names (spelling just off) but born twenty years apart. I was naturally curious about your person since that was an uncommon name as well. Thank you for getting back to me and enjoy your holiday weekend. Blessings - Judith 🎭🎵

    I was thinking the same thing when you said Zerelda. Thinking the name is on both stones..interesting they were first cousins
    Zerelda Amanda Mimms was the daughter of Pastor John Wilson Mimms and Mary Elizabeth James. Her mother was sister to Jesse James' father, Robert S. James. She and Jesse James married on April 24, 1874, while the James-Younger Gang was still in full force.
    was the wife and first cousin of Jesse James.
